The Ultimate front seat on-ride HD POV Lightwater Valley

It was the longest coaster in Europe with over 1.5 miles of relentless 50 mph terrain-coaster goodness! The Ultimate operated from 1991-2020 and was part-built by British Rail. The Ultimate featured two lift hills and two tunnels.
The coaster was well known for it's brutal yet pleasurable ride experience - riders bound all over the place!
Even though the camera was mounted, the video captures the rough charm and character that made The Ultimate a unique experience. Much better than a smooth video...where's the fun in that?
Lightwater Valley is located near Ripon in Yorkshire, England.
This is the exact same video as the Ultimate 3D video we posted for those that cannot view the 3D version on their phone or tablet. Here is the link to the 3D video we posted: • The Ultimate 3D front ...

Glad I wasn't the only one thinking there were too many chain lifts. It must have had a tendency to get stuck and that's why they put them there... I doubt it was designed with that many. I could see a strong gust of wind stopping the train on the flat sections.

Funny story. Years ago we were at Lightwater Vally queing to ride the Ultimate. This woman come up to me and said,"I am too scared to ride it, will you look after my son on this ride" I said sure. We ended up on the front seat. As we racketed up the first lift I said "Plant your feet on the front of the car, put your arms up!" Then the drop happened. That little man rode that coaster with his arms in the air the whole ride. He smiled all the way round. When we got off his Mother screamed at me "You said you would look after him!" I just asked "Is he still alive?"

Looks like a great ride. I've often wondered why more coasters aren't built through wooded areas or even places with buildings and lots of verticals close to the tracks so you experience the speed and movement more. So many amusement parks build them out in the open and I suppose that's to experience the feeling of flying. I liked this.

Storytime:- Me and my friend went to Lightwater Valley and I managed to get her on this (I'm a thrill junkie, she isn't) she LOVED it and we went on it over and over again, on about the 7th-8th time, there were these 4 girls behind us and one of them was screaming bloody murder before the first drop, like "I'M GONNA DIE!" And "LORD HELP ME!" Me and my friend were trying not to laugh but then it got to the first drop and she began to scream "I WANT CHICKEN NUGGETS!" Me and my friend burst out laughing at this point but try to hide it with screaming, we couldn't help it, she sounded ridiculous and it was too funny. Lord help that girl if her friends take her to alton towers. If you reading this, chicken nugget girl, you gave us a laugh that day, thanks mate.
