If you're running Shadow King with Phastos you're running Luke Cage.

2.5 stars for Phastos seems crazy to me. Unlike Sersi or Pixie etc.. his randomness never bites you in the ass, It's always beneficial. Yes he sucks if you draw him on T5 or T6, but so do a lot of great cards. I also think he'll be. a lot more versatile than people think. I could see him slotting into a lot of different deck types.

Not to mention his poor stat line can be fixed by using other cards. Hell I'm going to try a sudo-surfer deck utilizing Wong, Absorbing Man, and Sersi. Brood + AM into Sersi has been a pretty fun line to do and then go tall in another lane with Gladiator or Shaw. Wong, AM, and Sersi should work with Phastos fairly well. Been thinking of some weird plays like turn 4 Wong into Phastos + White Widow on the Wong for board fill and double Phastos proc for your turn 6 draw. I'd maybe argue Magik would be nice to have for that extra turn to utilize the most from him. With that said though if I don't end up getting Phastos I'll be using a mill deck to just take all of those cards lol.

Alex...Am I wrong in thinking that with Arishem building a deck does not matter because when the game starts you will get 12 brand new cards or do you really think we will get the initial 3 card draw and then have 12 new cards added to deck giving us an added 3 cards in our deck over our opponents 9(after starting 3 card draw)? if so bonus to Darkhawk

Lots of mineral tho, and probably a good fight for the tummy microbiome to exp-up without big instakill risks. I mean, it should be mandatory in kindergarden if you ask me

I am completely confident in my un confidence that Phastos is a must buy. I bet out the gate he will be mid, but Eventually someone will cook and that deck is going to benefit majorly from him. When that happens you'll be punching air that you didn't get him like when you passed on Cannonball or Pixie.

I think Phastos could work well in Destroy... the deck scales extra power just as well if not better than Surfer and with Nico it has the ability to dig deep into the deck. Thanks for the weekly dose of Snap ❤️ much love to both of you

I've been playing a Rocks and hawks deck with werewolf bounce and I randomly threw both shadow king and enchantress in there and they have been performing great! Even some turn 6s are just shadow king one lane and enchantress another and just shut down everything they did

Mr. Canada and Mr. Beach talking about pools…with the 110-120 degree summer over here in Phoenix, the pool is a must if you’re going out in the middle of the day. And a nice big community is even better, it doesn’t turn into bath water like the smaller pools do

For Phastos my initial desk list was a combination of both of their main ideas. I think a Phastos/Thanos/Zoo featuring Blob could be nuts. Maybe even throw lockjaw in there if the stones cost zero. I'm really looking forward to Phastos' release.

I think Phastos could be fun with Arishem. Dream scenario, you play Quinjet one one, Phastos on two, with the extra energy from Arishem, and then pretty much every card you draw is nutty. Not saying the deck will be consistent or good though lol

I'm digging the inked Thanos with the red frame. That's 🔥

I've been building up keys for months to especially get Arishem and Phastos too! I'm at 7 keys with some more upgrades to get 8 so I should definitely get both! Phastos just seems really good overall! Even on turn 5, if it's your WHOLE deck, your next card will have extra power (like America Chavez) or discounted!

not super worth it because you want to play surfer as late as possible, otherwise your oponent can counter you with shang-chi and shadow king, unless you also have knull or zola, then yeah I can see it working, just watch out for those cosmos

I think he is guaranteed to be good in surfer and Thanos. Can be cool in Pixie decks. He seems like a slightly worse Hope which is still good. People are underrating this card because they don't want to fall for another War Machine lol

I've always understood the power of shadow king, for me, the problem has always been the issue of being awkward to play. And his hat is called a fez👍

Scarlet Witch is such a cube thief! I especially love playing her in Limbo (bonus points if you do it against the annoying Mister Negative combo deck), and you can also play her on turn 6 with another 4 and make a big swing.

I already have a Phastos/Arishem brew for similar reasons to the Thanos synergy. Throw Blob in there and all of a sudden those +2s get a lot juicer

I think arishem and phastos will be great together, since you get + 1 energy u will be able to get phastos out on turn 2(if hes in your hand^^). So people only going for arishem might be disappointed if they dont pick up this card, just a thought i had tho

Your chance of drawing him at all by turn 3 is a lot lower though, and it's less likely that the cards he discounts or buffs are ones that you want to play

Yeah I get your point, but still think he will be a great addition to the deck, the same applies to all cards if you play arishem, he will probably never be consistent, but in return the opponent has no idea what you gonna play, and what card is in your deck or not. I think phastos will be extremely valuable if it's in your starting hand or drawn turn 2 or 3. I'm gonna pick both up, but that's just my opinion, i might be wrong. Hard to know right now:)

Unfortunately it's highly unlikely the average player will get both cards

The hat on Shadow King is a Fez. Typically worn in Egypt/Turkey etc

I know deck space is pretty tight but I have been thinking about Phastos in Tribunal decks. It's potential redundancy with the energy cheat but even hitting cards like Iron Man and Mystique with the +2 power could help quite a bit.

Right after posting this I hit the point where Cozy mentions Tribunal decks.

Imo Phastos seems like he’s kinda essential for a GOOD Arishem deck. It’s expensive, but Phastos, Sersi, and Arishem seems EXTREMELY unpredictable but powerful of the RNG works in your favor.

Phastos would also work really well with Black Panther or Iron Man!

Just noticed I was subscribed to Alex and not you how is that possible I always watch the videos back to back I guess you just came in as recommended 😅

Does anyone know how Phastos will respond to Wong? Does the effect double up or just replace what's already happened?

This is just a guess, but I believe his on reveal will stack with Wong. You may end up with some cards that have less cost AND more power. It'll be cool to see!

If I were to guess It will do two rounds of buffing. You could have the cards with -2 cost, or -1 cost +2 power, or +4 power.

Everyone be talking about the Darkhawk package, the Annihilus package, the Kitty Angela package, but noone be talking about the Thanos package of Thanos, Skaar, Sasquach, Cull and Mockingbird, as a Thanos enjoyer I really think its underrated!

Because ultimately that feels less of a Thanos package and more about big cards that get power reduced. Those packages exist because you can't make something similar without those cards. Skaar, Sas, Cull, and MB don't require Thanos to utilize them so I wouldn't really consider it a package in the same way that Kitty Angela Hope or Sentry Annihilus is.

i feel so dumb. Here's an idea, a zoo deck with jane foster; you just play phastos on turn 3 or 4, then play jane foster and then you have a bunch of free 1 costs

I think he would be great in destroy / Deadpool deck. High roll you hit your knull and play it on 5 and A Zola it on 6 Low roll you boost your Deadpool by 2 if you don’t draw into it

The current toxic surfer list is the best sleeper deck but it’s also extremely tight, the list is the same posted but Shaw instead of Psylocke. Phastos can replace perhaps cage but it’s too tight to tell for sure if it fits there

Phastos will probably show up in surfer lists with brood, a natural inclusion. His ceiling is probably however popular surfer gets and it's always been relevant so he seems like a solid card but not game breaking. If Hope didn't break surfer then this probably wont, the two cards are probably close to interchangeable, maybe Hope runs Sage/Glad over Brood or something

Phastos is probably a zoo card if you're more focused on mirrors than teching against Killmonger and Loki. Last three turns are kazar, blue marvel, gilgamesh + mocking bird and Phastos let's you sneak in extra 1 drops in that line.

Phastos is an auto include in arishem and most surfer decks. Probably great in some kind of Thanos deck

I recently played a bunch of games with Tribunal. Took me about 10 games to get Ravonna to play on Turn 2. Got the feeling that Phastos will feel the same amount of bad feeling when you don't get it on time. The effect seems strong but the frustration of missing out is gonna hurt the card. Don't see how you could go higher than a 3 star right now.

This is the mistake people made with Pixie. Building the deck around her and then calling the deck bad when she doesn't draw early. Just like Pixie you have to look at Phastos as a "sometimes you will pop off" addition to an already solid deck that doesn't have to draw him to win. Unfortunately this type of card doesn't justify being series 5 or using all your caches for.

I think re-ignited Alex's love for quake when I commented about comparing her to red guardian

I really want this card, but I’m only at 2 boxes and 3000 credits, just gunna have to pass. It’s crazy because I clear missions every week, buy EVERY season pass, and had a full collection a few months ago. They really need to figure this out it’s making people not want to play anymore

Tbh I only buy cards that fits with the decks I ply I don’t aim to have every card eventually the bad ones I skip will drop to 3 cost and I’ll get for the free but I do buy the packs that have variants (you can actually see) that be 15 bucks and I care pretty well and some times I get just lucky af and pull the new card one first try

Think phastos works better in a greed surfer list than the more tech forward builds. With Magik to give you more turns to draw the phastos cards. However I believe the deck he will be the best in is bounce.

Phastos could be interesting in a She-Hulk Infinaut deck. If you can get a discount on naut, then you can play S-H and him on 6 without having +1 energy. Or just bonus stats on S-H is nice too. Also could help you get it out before people destroy your limbo in that style of deck. I may need to try it.

Gonna chuck this into my discard deck and just have some fun and see what happens

Ive recently been playing a surfer deck myself and due to my lacking alot of series 3 cards magik def makes the def flow better for me. Either im drawing the pieces nesscary to win on turn six or I can always throw her down to give me more time to get a winning set up. Her and phastos in a surfer deck make alot of sense imo

The way card acquisition is in this game, I always try and convince myself out of getting cards I'm excited for in favour of hoarding resources. Inevitably, this leads to regret, most recent example being sage. Really says something about the game economy though.

I have been playing the thanoes scar deck they where discussing with phastoes and so far it has been my highest cuberate deck mainly because of how many large numberx I can throw in there and because of the new utility of thanoes I can play him in lockdown plains play him out early to buff scar and the amount of players I have gotten to shang chi a soul stone buffed thanoes is so funny to me I am also taking advantage of the priority the stones get you by utilizing tech cards that benefit from priority like red guardian and negasonic for the same priority reason I have been thinking about inserting echo but I think ill wait to see how phasotes affects the deck and think about if she is necessary and if theres room for her another reason i love this deck is that it lets me include some underplayed cards like crossbones witch can easily be played on a location where stones are since I usually start my games by spreading stones across the three locations go give me priority and to give be targets for crossbones I have also been including okoey who is great because every stone I play I am getting another buffed card often times she even buffs mockingbird up to a 0-3,10 witch lets me get scar off for free. No one will probably ever read all this but I just had to ramble on my favorite deck of the past weak and honestly my favorite deck of my whole snap experience. Btw the deck is probably only my best deck because I've played it so much and because im missing some key cards in meta decks because im free to play dont think the deck has top of meta potential or anything but who knows mabe phastoes will make it great

Dev's have confirmed that 0 cost cards still have a 50/50 chance of getting -1 cost. They are not guaranteed to get the +2 power. Which is unfortunate but they said it was because it could lead to some very niche but potentially game warping/breaking stuff.

Wait, need some clarification: will Phastos give the same effect (-1 or +2) to the whole deck? Or decide for each card individually? Cause having a cheaper Surfer but a buffed Brood could get wild real fast

SD confirmed that Phastos will apply the effect individually to the cards (the bonus that card 1 gets isn't necessarily the same for card 2 and so on)

I don't see any downside to Phastos at all! Both reduced costs or higher power is good! Even on a late turn, he affects your WHOLE deck so your next card is buffed!

phastos is a card id definitely wait until the end of the week. it could be amazing and it has to be to compete with the other great 3 cost cards. its never going to be a must have card due to its effect being random so im currently on team skipable

Phastos has the late play downside but look at pixie and she ended up being a great card. I think at worst this is a 3 star card

Phastos seems ideal in Thanos and decent in Surfer. Can make the stones free potentially and keep drawing more cards.

That's a common misconception. You NEED to draw Phastos early. And when playing Thanos you will barely draw him early in 1 out of 10 games
