Close, I have the Venture X and Savor card. I'm new to this space and you and Sebby are so helpful. When I was researching travel credit cards your channel came up and was really informative!! I got the SavorOne a couple months ago with the 200/500 sub. Waiting out the 6 month period until I can get the VentureX. Saving the $200 and adding to it while I wait. Sadly, a bunch of travel I wasn't planning on is poped up, so I wish I had grabbed the X first, although it will be easier to hit it's spend with some things planned around the time I'll be eligible for it.

Another great feature about this duo that isn’t talk about much is that one is a Mastercard and one is a Visa card in case you have an issue with one over another, plus both having no foreign transaction fees makes it an ideal international credit card setup.
I just got approved for the venture X card and it is awesome!! I’ve done a bunch of research and have seen some people say there was a limit to how many capital one cards they could have. I can confirm I have a quick silver, savor one, and now a venture X card!

Chase is the one that does that more so than anyone. The problem with Capital one is my same experience with Discover, you get your initial limit and they only increase it very little as YEARS go on. Chase kept increasing mine every 3 months by thousands. My frequently used Chase card is nearing the limit of the card I have had for over 10 years after only having chase for 2 lol.

As of right now, this duo is pretty tough to beat if you like their transfer partners. However, I think the Venture X is gonna continue to get nerfed pretty frequently over the next couple of years. It could be great to jump on the setup now though while it's still really powerful!

I have this combo and love it. I probably put about 90% of my spend on these two cards. To round out my setup I have the freedom flex and CSR (originally got for SUP, will be downgrading to CSR). Like you said, I wish it had better hotel partners. I also wish it gave you status at a certain brand like Amex does. I'd pay a little more for status at a hotel. You get Hertz status though, which is nice

Quick update: Capital one lounge is now open in IAD. It opened Sept 4th
I am new to the States and therefore to the credit card game, my first CC WAS THE SAVOR ONE, ( I have had for over a year now) I have applied for the venture X but I’ve been denied twice, so I have looked for other options such as Chase preferred and Amex gold, unfortunately the venture x became kind of a broken dream for me 😂

@@DJ-rk6wh I addressed you question already. Read it?
I think the Capital 1 venture's annual fee is not justifiable. You said they give you 300$ travel credit + 100$ anniversary credit and the annual fee is about 395$. Remember 300$ travel credit is not cash value, it is just a reward that you can use if you are traveling. If you are not a traveller like me it may not have value for you. The second point feels like anniversary credit is just a way to lure customers. They give you 100$ and take away 395$. People will say okay 300$ travel credit, 100$ anniversary credit, sounds like a plan. But if you dive deep, you will understand the real meaning. so ya card is good but just keeping in mind you will be paying 295$ in cash value.
I have this combo with a slight change with the Venture card vs the Venture X. I use this combo for most of my daily / monthly speed.

Hello! New to the credit card game and trying to figure out where to start and where I should aim to be going! I travel frequently with my work who pays for all of my flights and hotels. They allow me to retain the points and earn status on those trips. I travel with United and Marriott primarily. (Marriott is more concrete than United, I chose United as my primary airline) What cards should I aim to apply for to create a personal travel/cash back setup that maximizes the miles/points earned through my company? Thank you for any advice! (I use a corporate American Express card for booking flights and hotels through my company)
Great video and breakdown! Thank you for the info! My wife just got approved for the Venture X 2 weeks ago. We are hoping one day to be allowed to product change her Quicksilver over to a Savor One. I currently have this combo, I have chase and amex which both have 3x in the travel category. But I would love to see the 3x category on the venture x in the future.

Love my Venture X!! But super bummed I got denied for the Savor when I applied about a month ago.. I have a quick silver too, so was over C1’s unspoken “2 card rule.” I cancelled this card. They said it was due to too many inquiries, 6/24. Will focus on Chase for a while and chase SUBS, then probably try for Savor again when I’m cooling off!
What about the regular venture (not the venture one)
3:12 Hey that’s my birthday🙌🏽. Sucky part about it is that I just got the Venture X on 1/30/24 and can’t apply for the Savor One until 6 months after so I’ll barely be able to get much use out of this perk.
There is now a second lounge at IAD. Washington DC!

But every person is different.
Capital One just opened another lounge in Dules airport in DC.
So what’s the catch. Oh, must book all flights through COTP. No thanks.
I have 4 CapitalOne 1- Platinum 2- QuickSilver 3- SavorOne And had the 4th a QuickSilver but just upgraded to a next SavorOne but I also want to upgrade the Platinum for the VentureOne and I wishhhhh for the VentureX

Just throw the BILT card into the mix and I think most everything is covered. Maybe another one like amex blue everyday cash for gas if you want to get a little wild
if you want to acquire the most miles, can't you just get all of the savor one, savor, venture, venture x? If so, after the bonuses are al acquired, would you cancel the normal savor and the venture card?
So if I run the chase combo and capital one combo, I’d be set? Or would the Chase and Amex combo be better?
Adding the Savor One to the arsenal would be great to get the extra point on entertainment and streaming

What was your credit score when you got each one ?
I have the Savor and P2 has the Venture X. I wish they offered some more credits to boost up the savor and offset the any annual fee. Maybe a streaming credit like US Bank.
Is there ever an elevated sign up bonus for the Venture X?
I pray CP1 doesnt pull the rug out under from customers. They have without question gained an enormous amount of new customers and something tells me they are going to up their annual fee while removing perks of the card.
Have the Venture X. Thinking about getting the Savor One. Also have CFU, looking into the Preferred. Only caveat is Capital One points harder to transfer to domestic airlines. Chase a little easier.
Should I cancel my chase sapphire preferred in favor of the savor one?
I have both cards but having trouble merging the cash back rewards to mileage, I don't see the options in my account
I have the Savor 95$ annual fee for the 4% on categories exception groceries still at 3%. Imma ask for a retention offer to keep the Savor anonther yr or see if I can product change to the Savor One. Imma just stack the cash wait for the Venture X to have a higher bonus to apply.
Does capital one pull your credit of you already have one of their cards?
Can I mix cash back with points through Amex? I have the Gold Card, and I’d like to get the Blue Cash next!

I would personally get the Savor One first. Mathematically it makes more sense for me. Most of my spending does fall into groceries/dining out/ entertainment category vs everything else so I'd rather get 3% back vs 2x. That's just me tho
Is there anyway you can get your miles 10x’d after booking outside of the portal if you paid with the venture x card? I found a Hilton stay/American flight that I booked directly due to the price difference
I've had 3 cards from Capital One, but that was around 2018/2019, so not sure if that's changed
Question, I have had a secured credit card through Truist to build credit when I had 0 credit. I’ve had it for just at a year and have a 730 credit score. My bank told me the Truist does not monitor credit to see if you can “graduate” to an unsecured. I would have to apply for an unsecured, then close the secured card and lose my credit history. I don’t want to pay the upcoming $20 annual fee but I don’t want to lose my only source of credit history. Any recommendations?
@DJ-rk6wh
11 ай бұрын
I mean if you don't have a lot of credit history anyways why not go for a better regular card then just cancel the secure card? I mean yeah you loose a yr. But it's not like you're loosing 10 yrs or something. I say cancel after you get a better card so that institution can see that you have atleast some history.

I would go the Chase route first since you already have a relationship with them. I would apply for the Freedom Flex to get the SUB rather than product change. 11 ай бұрын
I think sapphire preferred is a good start. Biggest thing is that you get 25% more value of your points when using chases portal (sometimes its worth it and sometimes not). And the multipliers aren't bad. It's only $95. Nowadays I just use it as a stream, online groceries card (3x points). Which stacks up pretty quick. And it has ok transfer partners. Bottom line you can't go wrong with it. And you should be able to have your freedom rise card cash back go towards the chase points. It was my 1st travel card. Id go with preferred over the comparable venture card. Preferred has more value. And another to make sure you look out for is the insurance being offered with the card. Especially if you want to be traveling.
Have it, now wondering what to do for card 3.
Add in the Spark Business.
Ok so can someone be useful and actually make a video on the roadmap on how to obtain these 2 cards? Do I need to stay under 1/6 after opening the VX? Am I guaranteed s1 if I don’t open anything else after VX? I need useful content on the specifics yall….
