The guide dropped the ball when he didn’t tell you to put Ají in your empanada, but I’m totally with you on the love for Granadillas and Jugo de Lulo.

Hernano, debe ser porque vivo aca en USA desde hace mucho pero ciertas cosas han cambiado, alla diran mas variedad y aca que danaron los ptoductos, como salpicon con topping de queso (?) o las simples y tradicionales obleas con mermelada y queso rayado, nos quedamos con el producto clasico.

I loved this video. The food looked delicious. There were so many fruits that I have never tasted. I liked that the guide started with the lighter foods (fruit), and worked up to other foods. You guys produce an excellent and easy to watch video.

You must try hot chocolate with cheese. I know it sounds awkward and it took me awhile to warm up to the idea, but it is so good! I think the Colombians use mozzarella in their hot chocolate. You basically let the cheese melt at the bottom of the hot chocolate and eat/drink it all at once.

Ok.... excellent video..... Mededellin metropolis The most innovative city in the world as declared by Wall Street journal and by Citi group from the USA... Suggestion ...eat chicharron mixed in with frijoles ...mix the beans with chicharron... It is the most amazing taste in the world... With respect to AJI...... ... It is very mild.... The interesting thing ...about PAISA food is that they do not need to destroy the taste of the food with super hot spices .... Specially since the food you eat in Medellin metropolis....is extremely fresh ....it all comes from all of the local fincas in the perimeters of the city of Medellin... So the freshness of the produce makes the taste of PAISA food delicious ... PAISA food does not need spicy hot stuff ..... The key to good food any where in the world ... Is that if you need to put extra spicy stuff in your food ....it is because the food does not have any taste at all ... In other words the food is not good at all ...so as a result you have to put a lot of hot spice stuff .... PAIsa food in Medellin does not required anything spicy hot stuff at all ... The joke ...is ....if you have to put spicy hot in your food is because your food locks good taste ...in other words is because your food does not taste good at all....

Loved the time I had in Medellin, love the street food (especially bunuelos, which I'm surprised were not covered) BUT... I've gotta say, if you're looking for a nice meaty dinner at a reasonable (for Americans and Europeans, I guess) price... check out Barbaro -- Amazing steaks and BBQ

hi, lulo and curuba for us are ONLY to make drinks and luices, very refreshing; the Colombian aji is mild and for Mexicans it's only a joke compared to the hot chili; if you're gonna down some beers, one shot of aguerdiente makes you feel good and less stuffed than having 3 beers (and maybe less or the same calories).

Yes we can't get enough of the fresh juices here in Colombia! We found the aji to be the perfect amount of spice. Sammy asks for it almost every meal 😂 Good call taking a shot instead of drinking more beers! Great advice thanks for sharing!

Great video but word of advice. You need to actually tell us what the dishes are- what are their ingredients? Is it fish, chicken, how is it made? Not everyone knows Columbian food.

Colombian food is the blandest food I've ever eaten on this planet. I lost 12 pounds in nine days there. But I drank mandarin juice every day and that stuff is wonderful.

I notice as a traveler that Spanish people don’t like speaking English and don’t bother speaking English esp in central and South America. Surprisingly in Southeast Asia and the Certain countries in the Middle East they are more open to speaking English or trying to. I think it has to do with the centuries of tensions and rivalry between Spain Spanish people and England. I think this tension comes from the fact that Spain and Spanish people view their people and civilization as superior to the English.
