THIS IS HOW VIDEOS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE! SHORT AND SUPER INFORMATIVE. THANK YOU! Also, I was gonna opt for GH5s because of all the hassle that BMPCC4K but this video has changed my mind and I don't even need a mic, I can invest more on lenses. Once again, Super thanks!

@@brian.durkee I think the image of the Pockek 4k is even better than just "bang for you buck"... it's one of the best "bangs" period. I use an FS7 and Pocket 4k on a weekly basis and can honestly say the Pocket 4k is a MUCH better image. The FS7 might have on-paper more highlight range... but the image just isn't as good overall. It's nosier... more compression-blocking, colors look gross in the shadows, you cant under-expose it AT ALL, ect. The codec just isn't that great anymore on the FS7. It ticks all the boxes... 4:2:2, 10-bit... but the data-rate just isn't high enough to keep it together in all situations. It doesn't hold a candle to the BRAW or even Prores from the Pocket 4k. ESPECIALLY for green-screen work... which I do a TON of. Pocket 4k beats it by a MILE. Oh also, the menu/layout of the FS7 is simply ATROCIOUS. Can't be stated enough. "Pro" Sony cams are un-intuitive garbage.

One of the cleanest handheld builds I’ve seen for it so far. Been running a bit more of a shoulder mount rig but finding it a bit counter intuitive given the portable nature of the camera. Unfortunately Sony E mount has a flange distance of 1.25mm shorter than MFT. This mean that you cannot focus to infinity and only the reverse would work correctly. Sigma does make MFT versions of the contemporary primes though.

Bassistent well if you look at Canon mounts for example, the FD mount has a 42mm flange, and the EF mount is 44mm. There are adapters that have an extra glass element designed to focus to infinity since that is a popular combination, but I'm not aware of one for E-MFT. Though it is possible

  • @skatepark02

This is probably the safest method. Having both the monitor and camera powered by the same battery can in rare cases cause a ground loop where if the monitor loses its ground (or earth) connection it finds the next nearest point which is through the HDMI. This results in the hdmi chip being fried on the main board and needing replacement. I’ve done this twice on my GH5s but learnt about what causes it in the Blackmagic forum s as it is more common with the pocket 4K.

@@brian.durkee it actually saved me a fortune your set up , I had issues mounting the BMPCC4K to my Ronin ( original ) , I hadn't thought about it untill I built the rig , the V-Mounts weight now pushes the camera past the Ronin mount , allowing a fantastic balance on the rig designed for larger payloads , the glide is perfect , the extra weight allows the shot to lose that gimble feel and gives an almost dolly esc tracking feel , really impressed , but again thanks for the build review , without extrending out and building the large v-mont set up I wouldn't have realized the potential in it , I now don't need to sell my Ronin , which no matter the hate has never let me down in 4 year of use . thanks again .
