Follow sdi protocol if you are worried about it! Everyone has different opinions on how unsafe for your ports it actually is in practice

Great rig mate! One thing you might want to consider is having spares for those bnc right angle adaptors. I've heard from a couple video assistants that the life cycle of those can be quite short.

She definitely hefty! If running all day with bigger lenses would recommend something’s bigger than mini max (atlas orions for example) otherwise minimax can get the job done! If need to run without easyrig you can just put on shorter rails smaller lens take of the extra handles and it’s pretty manageable!

With loosening two knobs and unplugging cables you can pull just the body, battery and handle out in 30 seconds, then just take off the handles and it’s mountable!

If you just unscrew the rosette part of the handle but leave the part that connects to the body on, you can technically switch to gimbal mode without use of any tools which is super nice

Not gonna lie, it's almost identical to what I have for my Pocket 6K (OG). Having top rails is a game changer for rigging and adds so much real estate while not making the rig too long. Awesome rig. Thanks for sharing!

This is pretty dope build. Lots of extra weight for sure. Can't wait till portkeys has a UI update and the wired version works as well as the SMALLHD version. Also the shape handles are the best!

4:20 I'd use a base plate that has at least 3 mounting points that are not co-linear, otherwise I can imagine the plate getting loose pretty soon.

Would be nice! I just don't find those as common and this will hold pretty well/is standard for most camera builds so you can slide the plate forward/backward a bit

I was thinking about making’s a raptor style handle from smallrig pieces but i couldnt figure out on how to attach the 4 rods to the backplate. The nato rail is a genius solution. Blew my mind. Get some tennis / baseball grip tape and wrap it around , it will be much more grippy . You can poke the screw holes and the arri pins with a metal rod afterwards.

I've been using a Ranger for a few years and I've always thought about extending the handle at the back to give me something to hold when on jib / dolly. Still grabbing the battery but these are definitely nice solutions that don't cost an absurd amount.
