Lads, Wilson Staff has to be in that test. Love ya, but that's a miss. PS - I don't play blades....that's just asking for cold stingy hands here in 9 degree Calgary. LOL

I play blades in Calgary
Wilson staff blade missing is Crazy
I have a combo set of P7MC ad P7MB, came from P790s and my game has improved by leaps and bounds. Quality of strikes is better, consistency is so much better, and my yardages are so accurate. I know if I make a solid strike the ball is going the distance it is supposed to. Do misses happen, of course, but the dispersion is not what people think of when they look at a blade, usually its just short, not necessarily way off in a sideways direction. I think more players should look into MB combo sets for their scoring irons, it really can improve your game without losing all of your forgiveness in the long irons.
Everytime Ian hits blades he’s so much more accurate. I would love to see a test against cavity over a series of shots to see whether blades being more accurate score wise against the occasional miss hit. Whether pin proximity outweighs the loss of the odd shot from a miss strike. To me Ian should definitely play blades in the short irons
Since 90% of the comments I’ve read so far are about Wilson irons, we don’t carry Wilson in our demo matrix which is why it wasn’t in this test.

Considering these kind of irons are bought for their beauty, I’m a bit disappointed that we didn’t really get any tasty photos, top line and back of the club on a split screen would be good, as you talk to each other and mull over your thoughts of each. Also, I don’t want to be that guy but, Wilson staff boys, you missed the prettiest of them all. Great vid as always tho 👍
What important in this isn’t what Ian likes best, because that’s subjective and he’s looking for a feel and flight profile that fits his swing. What’s important is seeing the deltas between the irons and applying that to what you might need/want. Keep in mind CC is editing out the mishits and just showing the keepers for the data (which I think is good to get good comparisons). Although Ian didn’t mention it, I’d be willing to hypothesize that the blades he struggled with have a different raw head weight than the rest. That’s the one variable that is likely inconsistent among the group.

Bye bye T-150s and hello Blades lmao
Thank you for this review. Great work. One of the best you’ve ever done. Cheers!
A brand worth considering for the future is Toura Golf. Its a DTC but they source their blades from Kyoei golf in Japan. I'm currently testing their K-cut MB's for My Golf Spy and they are world class! They're also a Canadian company so definitely worth showing them some support.
Very surprised Wilson not here. They’re like the OG blades still being made. The new MB/CB irons are superb.
Fair, objective, informative. Always enjoy your work. Thanks!
45 seconds in and I am hooked... can't wait for the ultimate CB test lol 😅😅
Had a wonderful full bag fitting at Club Champion (brisbane Australia) and got fit into a set of blades. For me a narrower sole suits and the set that won out were the Miura KM-700's.
Great test, really enjoy these comparison videos.
Awesome video! Would love to see a close up of each club while Mikey or Ian is explaining the looks and specs.
This is my favorite type of content!
Been waiting for a proper blade comparison video for ages, so good. That Taylormade is the one (even though I wants miura to win)
No Wilson?
So good to see a blade test ..... the 620MB's are going in my bag next!
Have my blueprint t irons on the way. Couldn't be happier. Favourite club I've hit
Ian should have a set of blades in the bag for sure!, come on Fraz, do it!
Love this test. Pretty sure many of us dream to be the ball striker capable of gaming blades. If I were that guy, it would be P7MB for me, followed by Titleist and Mizuno. All beautiful and great performers. I'll stick with my T100 irons for now though. Cheers gent!
Love my 620mb’s, such a stable club. Tough to beat it on looks, sound and performance.
Great one boys!
There is a question at the end. But first, you boys do a great job!! Your channel is unique. By that, I mean other channels have more in common with each other than any do with you. Always insightful, focused and educational. Helps that neither of you are Yanks! Haha - just kidding, I'm a Saffa who lived in the UK for 20 years and was fortunate to play a lot in Scotland (and Ireland). Keep up the great work. Question - specific to Callaway - Other than 'bragging' that you play with blades, whu would I choose the MB over the CB? The CB are forged, at the address they look as blade like without being and you can manoeuvre the ball enough for that not to be a reason. Thanks.
Nice content! Are you doing this for the player's cavity irons as well? I hope so!
What a review of fantastic blades shame about Wilson ... LOL. Would have been nice to have a caveat regarding the iron that has both the thinnest top line and sole width.
Soon as I saw the P7MB flight I said that’s the one going in. So close that was awesome! Personally I think they are beautiful, and had the best flight and dispersion. Not sure how anyone could argue it wasn’t the best
Ian throwing lawn darts on that green! Great shots!!
Would love to have see takomo. If I bother eith a new set I'd like to forego the $1500 sets
Agreed Mikey, MB-101 and 620MB are the purest looking. Played Nike Victory Red and 710MB back in the day. Played the last 3 gens of T100 but man, those MB-101’s are calling my name every year…
@Lil-ik3kh

I learned to play using the old nike blades, the ones with just a nike tick. Those were the days man, the VRs were so pure as well.
Would love to see a blade blend comparison. I think possibly more players could hit them in the short irons where it's less intimidating.
Great video, Gents!
Great test! Finally back to the TXG days of detail. The question for me is, if things like the Cobra Limit3D are available that look like a blade, maintain most of the feel and add a ton of forgiveness, why would you buy a classical blade as a non-full time golfer?
Solid content on this one! Question, what has the longest Heel to toe blade length of the bunch?
Great test. A few things to add next time. Show some close ups on the irons when hitting them. Also in the end choose your favorite Ian of the 3 that performed the best.
I really enjoyed watching the video! It was awesome to see the head-to-head competition between each OEM. Personally, I think the TM 7MB looked the best out of all the options.
Played the 620mbs for 4 years. Loved them. Lofts were very weak though
Gents....why on earth would you leave out Wilson? Despite the great performance data, 20% (I would argue way more) feel the test batch is incomplete. That said, keep up the great content coming!
I'm a high spin player so the the PXG and Srixon appeal to me since they seem to knock it down a bit. Also what I like about the Zx7's in the bag. Very controlled for me and I don't get that floaty, stalled flight.
no Wilson Staff Model MB? Outrageous! Blasphemy! lol. Great test gents---appreciate the comparisons.
Those PXG's are absolute rockets. But the ball flight with the Taylormade was pretty to watch
Great test gents, did you do a test on players distance irons for a mid to low handycapper
620 mb are the best ever and cobra MB RF copper really good also. My favorites
The flight on that p7mb was beautiful
I have an older set of Titliest 716 blade irons I’ve been playing for almost 6 years. Prob re gripped them 10 times and have over 100 rounds with them. Bought them used and really strike them well. I’m eyeing up a new set though and think could benefit from an actual fitting to really dial in shaft type.
I’m glad you guys didn’t release this two days earlier or my T150 order might not have happened 😂 Do you think the reduced dispersion of the three favorites is purely down to the increased spin?
PXG was impressive. Not a blade guy but CBs are on my radar now
I played my dads 1974 Northwestern Ben Hogan Signature blades recently. It would be nice to see you guys review such vintage clubs and compare to actual blades!! I think the feel/distance has not improved that much on blades in 50 years. Shafts have gone a long way though, but the heads?? Would love to see you guys test them
620 6-9 with 150 4 & 5 would be an awesome combo set for the next WITB.
Callaway would blend the best for longer irons, and by best MB,CB,Pro really are a matching look family. None of the other companies have that. Though I'd probably go Titleist as they look like blades. (Mizuno also, but of the top 3 on the last page).
Only 3:00 in, but to your comment about irons not included in the test....only other ones I'd like to see are the Ben Hogan ICON's (which are back, again!), Wilson Staff MB's, and the Takomo 301MB's. But that's because I'm cheap (I mean, I'm "value oriented").

The Wilsons being omitted is definitely rough. They’re held in high regard by blade users. But, I get that they’re not a popular brand in North America.

@@lawbinson guessing it's omitted because Club Champion doesn't carry Wilson (or Ben Hogan or Takomo, obviously)?

Of course, at 24:00, they address the Wilson omission! Patience pays off sometimes, apologies to the lads.
The Mizuno, TM and Titleist all performed really well. And the best blade of 2024 is ..... Wilson Staf Model 😁 P.S. I did test them myself Ian, and now I play .... Wilson Staff Model blades ☺
Even among the few pros still using blades, they mostly use them in the short to mid irons. Do the go to more game improvement models in the long irons due to off center performance or solely speed/height?
I'd like to see something where you keep the shaft, but adjust the MIM weight in the Callaway blade. You can also keep the video for the future.
Put them in the bag!! We need another WITB
Ian: "that one was a bit toey..." Test data: .005mm towards toe. 😅
Note to editor: it would have been good to have an image of the blade as Ian was hitting. Would have made it easier to identify which club was which.
ihm a long time blade player. I had never better blades than the P-730
I don't think we can ever have enough close ups of blades. The stock images the OEM's put out are awful compared to the photos on MGS or Golfwrx etc. Always nice to have your HD close ups of the shiny butter knives! Would love to see which one performs best to you out on the tight links lies.
Got a set of 620MBs. I was all for blades, until I needed a par to break 80, and hit my 8 iron out the toe and came up short by a long way. In pressure situations, we're relying on a 1cm x 1cm squared area to beat a score, in a game where at the club level, it's one stroke that can loose it. So when you're up against people with spades and jacked lofts, what chance do you have? Everyone should be made to play blades only.
Many brands will try but the big three seem to always perform - Callaway, Titleist and TaylorMade. Thoroughbreds!
Blades for life....ok maybe MC blades 😂 I feel like the PXG would be a better head to head with MC-502 and blade....ish clubs like that
I notice more manufacturers recently are putting weight back in the center on blades. Is this to make up for the future ball change and get a little more ball speed of the center of the face?
❤️ Titleist MB
best two from my testing were by far the blueprints and z forged. was kind of disappointed by the 241’s.
Not really surprised by the top 3. callaway apex is slept on way too much probably their best since the legacy irons or 2018 mb.
I mean, Ian should bag blades. Any of them.
Add in takomo, Honma, jpx tour, Wilson and top 3-4 from this video!
True to the rest of the comments… no wilson blade is actually a joke. Not even remotely interested in seeing how clubs stack up unless they’re side by side with Wilson
Ian what shaft did you use in all the blades
Please respond: How do you compare the Cobra Limit3D to these?
You guys should test the old Adams mb2 blades against these. Still reckon it’s one of the best clubs ever
Given that one of the blades main selling points is aesthetics and main fears is looks at address, Im surprised we didnt get a little B-Roll cut of either when its being talked about. Especially with the Srixon here, Ian showing it off in the booth but we still cant see it lol.

Wilson comes out on top again!!!😂
I feel like in all other videos Ian says he’s intimidated by the blades (like in the Wilson review). He hit a boatload of beautiful 6i shots here… get those beauties in the bag!

I’m not intimidated by them in the bay. I know my game well enough to know I don’t hit it consistently well enough to play them full time.
Is this a 6 iron? What iron do you use for testing?
what shoes is Ian wearing?
Cobra RF blades 💪
Is there much difference between the Taylormade MB and the PTW
P7TW ❤
I’m kinda surprised that Miura didn’t live up to it’s reputation 🤔
Hi guys! One question I keep asking myself is whether your fitters can acheive the same level of expertise as you do? I'm travelling soon from another province to get fitted by one of your fitters and I really wish they can analyse data as you guys do and suggest the best driver for me.
I am sure y'all have controlled for this, but are the Miura's a bit more upright than the other irons? I know their standard lie angles are different than other manufacturers, I wonder if that wouldn't contribute to more of a left ball flight?
Miura MC-502 would have been my pick over MB-101.
@bamburo1
26 күн бұрын
I badly wanted to build my combo set with the MB-101 (7-PW) but ended up with the 502s. They look and feel awesome as well but are pretty easy to hit. Although I have never played the 101s, I have had a set of Tournament Blades and the MC 502 is significantly more. User friendly specially on misses.
Shwhat shaft in the iron?
This quality content that I binge watch…is really disappointing. 😂😂😂 Ya can’t make everyone happy, ya know? These guys really do make some excellent, informative, content. You can’t deny that much.
Not having Wilson is a shame. That's like having a driver test and ignoring TaylorMade.

Titliest needs to bring out new blades.. 620 getting a bit old now, and their feel is so off imo. What happened to the butter feeling of the blades.. 620 feels like cheap cast metal, even the pings feel better imo.
exactly, Wilson Blade????
Wilson Staff baby

Wat nay Wilson Staffies, Mr Fraser hang yer heed in shame LOL
