The ultimate beater muscle car THE "JENKO" NOVA
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The full build of our 1972 chevy nova junk yard rescue Yenko tribute. We call this project the "Jenko" due to its cheap nature budget minded revival build and the ratty yenko stripe we painted on it. This ratty Nova muscle car project was built to prove that you dont need deep pockets to get together with your friends and family, slap a car together with used junk parts and hit the streets and enjoy it! This daily driver themed hot rod is the most enjoyable car in the fleet and we take it everywhere.

Gotta love a Nova! I had a 76 and a 78 but both straight 6 motors. Got over 300grand on the 78 and the rear end went. Still ran great. I paid 50$ for it at my dads friends scrap yard drove it for 3 years and junked it for 100$. So these cars have a special place in my heart.

Very interesting build! I did something similar way back when with a 62 Plymouth Sport Fury 2 door. I bought the car for $300.00 WITH a 440 4V, Cable operated 727, and a 3.91 posi. (The guy HAD to sell it NOW) I did; 6 point roll cage, welded in sub frame connectors, gutted doors, windows and quarter windows, etc... Competition valve job, minor porting, Direct Connection 2.84-4.84 Hemi Grind Cam & Lifters. some modified street headers...Weiand open plenum intake, 850 Holley carb. Still remember my first pass down Detroit Dragway with that car....

My absolute dream car! 68-72 Nova. As the youngest in my family, i grew up with both of my much older brothers both having Novas. Always working on them making them better each time, going to Epping New Hampshire to race often. I was one of the happiest kids alive growing up. My second oldest brother and i were very close growing up. He taught everything and was like a second dad. Best man at my wedding, the one i called for both good and bad. He was my best friend and my childhood hero. Him and i always talked about finding me my own Nova to build. Had everything planned exactly how we would build it. But life got in the Way and as years passed, things got more and more expensive, especially here in Rhode Island. And these cars got further away from the budget i had at the time and less were popping up for sale. Then i became a single father raising my now 13 year old alone since birth and as of almost 6 years ago My brother was killed in a tragic accident. But seeing your videos is giving me some hope. You're only a couple states away and you're still finding them. Im determined to find at least a ruler some day to build the car exactly how me and my brother talked about.

Purrrrrrrr… LOVE IT! Plus now with a manual trans it’s like icing on that cake! My to be Last Nova project update, looked at one today. Does poking the frame and going through it up to one’s wrist make for enough fun? Ok if not the the entire floor had fifteen license plates, a stop sign and two one way signs screwed into it. Funny how that didn’t scare me off. The $2600.00 he wanted for it gave me one helluva good laugh tho. Told him to take a deep breath and hold it till I come back again… I have a 73 lined up for a looksie next Saturday. To say I’m highly motivated is putting it mildly, I’m looking hard but not stupid. I’ll find the right one, it’ll happen😉✌🏼Keep up the great work brother!

This makes me cherish the memory of the car I miss the most. Back in 1977 when I was 21 I had a blue 1973 Nova with 34,000 miles that I absolutely loved. Wasn't fast due to a stock 307 but it was a very pretty car that got what seemed like daily comments on what a good loooking car it was even with the stock bench seat and carpet delete. The bench seat meant my girl would scoot over beside me without a console seperating us. Bought a new set of Cragar SS wheels with G60 tires in the rear and Hi-Jacker air shocks. That gave it the classic 70's rake I wanted. Man it was gorgeous! Good luck on your Nova!
Like the car, hate the scoop lol. I can appreciate the fab work you did to make it though.
