I'm glad to see someone else practicing the "Adhoc Shop Build" philosophy. Shops grow organically with use and according to the shop owner's experience. I see way too many shop builds that look fantastic, but seem to be a logistical nightmare. Kudos to you for showing us your thought process and execution based on your needs. Also a tire plugging tutorial would be FANTASTIC!!! :D

'Adhoc Shop Build' - I like that description. I built my 30x40x12 back yard shop about 5 years ago. I have been doing miscellaneous shop improvements since the day I 'finished' it. I have yet to insulate or sheet rock any of it, as I am still adding wiring here or framing there.

You should put an inverter in the shop and put headlights in the grills on the wall, and then you can turn them on for accent lights.

Thats a neat idea. Not to be pedantic but keeping with the educational vibes of colt's videos if you're looking to get DC out of AC supply then you need a converter to my knowledge. Inverter is the opposite and will provide AC out of DC supply.

It would probably be a good idea to add some safety chains on those shelves. Wood likes to do weird things with the weather. Maybe get a piece of Uni-Strut to lay across the rafters to hang the chain from??

Gotta say, I always really enjoy the shop build and organization videos! It's interesting to see the planning and thoughts of how it's going to come together. Plus, it gives folks ideas for their own shop. This build has been especially great, because it's attainable for people. This is a shop you and your son are building, and you're doing the planning and executing, running around for materials, trying to reuse and salvage items, and finding solutions on the cheap. This isn't being funded by sponsorship handouts, or large installation businesses - just a father and son putting in the sweat equity. Much respect, Colt!

I would like to make a suggestion. The ladder you built to the loft in your garage. To me it seems like it would be in the way where it is. My suggestion is, to move it up against the wall. It will hit your bench midway, and you can tie it in there for more security. It looks like it's out in the way where it is. You might need that room to swing something around while you have a car in there. Just a thought. I watch your channel all the time. I enjoy your content. I've never heard of a doubler until I started watching off road channels. You're a good teacher, Thank you.

My son had these till he barely rubbed a tree on his passenger rear. It took out the front portion of the fender base for the flare. Bushwacker doesn't have 'replacement' parts so he'd have to get all new complete flare kit. He upgraded to KBD flares. They are not as wide but still have the large well opening.
