The Uists | Outer Hebrides Road Trip
Hey travelers, welcome back to our Outer Hebrides series and to our next stop, the gorgeous islands collectively known as The Uists!
The Uists are actually made up of 6 main islands, Eriskay, South Uist, Benbecula, Grimsay, North Uist and Berneray. We arrived on Eriskay from Barra after a short 40 minute ferry crossing.
On the Uists, we went in search of 40,000 bottles of lost Whiskey, yet more beautiful beaches, historic sights and a lost grizzly bear!
We hope you enjoy this video! If you do, make sure you're subscribed with notifications on, so you don't miss the rest of the Hebridean adventure, coming soon!

We spent two weeks exploring from Vatersay through Barra all the way to the top of Lewis. I didn't really find much in the Uists compared to elsewhere. The campsites we stayed at were very good and the beaches were nice but little else to do.
So much nature I love it & those mushrooms 🍄 I would absolutely love to visit there one day ! Really enjoyed watching this video, looking forward to watching more 🙂

Your true story was obviously the inspiration for the novel by Compton Mackenzie "Whiskey Galore", subsequently a movie(s).
Hey guys!! 👋 Firstly, love your branding and you’re so well spoken which made it so easy to watch 😌 40,000 bottles of whisky!? I’m sure the locals loved “helping” recover those bottles 😂 The stones are so cool - I wish we knew more about it! I think Hercules may have escaped, so glad you found him hehe. I love how there is just casual ruins so close to residential houses. I’ve heard that the beaches were stunning in the Uists! Thanks for such an amazing video guys! We loved it and can’t wait to see more! New friends here - Em + Tom ☺️

A very good video !! Beautiful Scotland 😍 I was touched that Hercules human dad was buried there together with him !! But ,what happened there to Hercules grave !!? 😱Has someone stolen his remain / bones !!!? Or it was a natural thing !? 😬I hope not a grave digger/ theif tried to sell his bones !
@MacSarah

@@MacSarah Yea...glad to know that ! I realized the stone plaque was broken in half like something naturally happened ,too ! But,living in the U.S.for too long made me think of that right away !! As some bad people steal stuffs from Graves & sell 'em here !! Horrible !! And ,some sell things belonged to celebs ...,so that bear was a celeb in a way ,I just put those together in my head almost immediately ! Thanks so much for your reply & telling me ! 👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎵🎶🐻💕💞
Hallo, first of all, the whole group of islands are Uist, not Uists. The politician was headed for Jamaica with the crown jewels and loads of booze as the monarchy were thinking of getting out during WWII. There is a much bigger forest to the NW of North Uist than the wee one at Langais. There's another fantastic forest on South Uist in Loch Aineort. I agree you should stay a week on each island to see whats on offer. it's pissing it with rain just now though.

Hey, thanks for setting us straight 🙂 there's so much more for us to learn and experience. Thanks for the pointer about the forest, we did feel that we may not have been right about that. Appreciate your taking the time to comment, thanks very much 👍🏼

@@MacSarah Our collective name, from Berneray to Eriskay, is Uist. Or, Uist and Benbecula. The whole of the southern Isles are referred to as Uist and Barra 😊
