In Finnish football we have this thing that foreign players who aren't students or refugees need to be paid around 1200€/month (which you barely stay alive with) in three highest tiers. Below that you're lucky not to pay to play. And Finns themselves... can be offered anything up from 0 at least in 2nd and 3rd tier and below.

I have a really important question about losing confidence . This season was the first real one in my life, the last 3 were cancelled because of Corona. (I am 16 and play in the women’s 3rd highest league in Austria, we are 2nd in our league). Since April 2022 I am getting way better and I gained much confidence. I had one bad game in april 2023 because I made an unlucky mistake, 2 of my teammates were mean to me and since this point I lost my confidence. I know that everyone makes mistakes but one of the two teammates told me that I should like to learn something(I train 4-5 times a week). It is really hard for me to ignore them and listen to the other friendly teammates. The problem of losing my confidence is that I play one good game and the next game is horrible like I never played soccer/football before. Every time before I go to bed I think about great saves I made this season, but I never got my confidence back. What should I do, my goalkeeper coach also don’t know what to do anymore. In july we will get a new coach and I hope that he could help me but mabye you could help me too. Thanks🤍 Edit: sorry if my english is not perfect 🫣

Confidence is a mindset. If you dwell on the past mistakes you make, it’ll affect your decision making and your ability, it’s a recurring cycle that causes you to make more mistakes and this reduces confidence even more. I know this from personal experience. The only way out is to have a mindset of 2 things 1. Where you learn and forget your mistakes. (This way you learn and become better from this, but you understand that it’s the past and you can do, and will do better in the future. 2. To trust yourself and the process. (You know you work hard and train often. Use this for your betterment) Keep doing the right things in training and on the football pitch and good will come out from it. We all make mistakes, so don’t let others talk you down and don’t dwell on them. This does no good for you. Learn and forget, and keep the faith. You’ll become a better and more resilient player from this. I believe in you ⚽️

hey, I've been a futsal goalkeeper for a long time. in futsal you concede a lot and have a lot more scope to make mistakes and also make up for them. you have to accept being a goalkeeper in any form you will make mistakes, its part of the job. how many times do midfielders misplace a pass or strikers miss an easy shot on goal. the only difference between their mistakes and ours is they cost goals. its how you react from those mistakes is what will define you. being a goalkeeper is a hard and often thankless job and unless you play there many just don't understand. as hard as it might be you have to forget the mistakes and move on. try not to listen to outside noise, especially from team mates who might have a lot to say when you make a mistake but are surprisingly quiet when they make one. you play at what seems like a high level so trust in the skills that got you there in the first place, you wouldn't of made it there if you didn't have talent. lastly, trust in yourself and keep your head up. mistakes are learning opportunities, sometimes learning the hard way might be the only way to learn how to prevent those mistakes from happening again. good luck with your future career, seems like it will be a bright one 😎😎
