I heavily agree. The reason it was so good was because it wasn’t afraid to start from the ground up. A lot of these costumes look like fun house versions of the classic suit, while tasm just looks like a completely different costume.

I love the edge of time classic suit, the messy webs are dope asf, I’ve always thought that after around 7 or so years of being Spider-Man this Peter just got tired of doing the webs perfectly every time he had to repair his suit, hence the webs being messier in this game

Yeah as much as I love the edge of time classic suit like it's up there on my favourite redisigns of the classic suit, I'm gonna be honest when i say that the chest emblem on that suit looks like ass hell the suit would look better if it had the late 80s Mcfarlane chest emblem or the Bagley Ultimate Spider-man chest emblem

I like everything about the suit except for the mask, wish the lines weren't all perpendicular to each other and it was more traditional looking. Just feel like it frames the face wierdly

Honestly, the upgraded suit wasn’t that bad, it just has more details to fix. Like if they filled in the belt, filled in the spider, made the lenses bigger, and made the front spider bigger, honestly I wouldn’t hate it.

This might be a hot take, but i think the fortnite design desrves some credit. It did most things right, like making the costume more up to date without it feeling over the top and I loved the eyes along with the wide web pattern, makes him look friendly.

@@AndyRobertooie in the comics the blue part of spiderman suit is usually shades a lot, and you can see many bright blue areas giving it that shiny blue effect. I think shiny blue on a spiderman costume is accurate to the source material.

Fortnite is fucking great at adapting the designs of comic characters and their movie counterparts, I got no hate for their takes on Spidey suits Their original designs from the Zero War stuff do leave a lot to be desired tho imo

I hate how Avengers made such a good classic suit but the “upgraded one” we are supposed to unlock after so much grinding is absolute crap. Liked the video and keep up the great work!

Only time I really felt he was wrong here was with the classic PS4 suit. Those were the NITPICKIEST nitpicks I've ever heard in my life and one of them just wasn't true. Completely agreed with everything else though

I think that’s why he said it had minor issues, so he was really just pointing out some of few flaws of the suit in his opinion which is fair I just think my only (kinda) criticism of this version of the classic suit is that I think it could be bit more red but than again it reminds me of the color of the ultimate comics so it really mix but I love it ether way.

Tasm 1 suit was so streamline and stood out. I think people were afraid of that in 2012 but mark web got ambitious. I do wish that suit carried over to tasm 2 but with a updated version Instead of making it look like the og suit

I like both suits but I prefer the tasm 1 suit especially because it feels more original than the second one

I'm not sure if you've gone over this before, but how do you feel about the ps4 suit, then? The designers basically built it based off of athletic gear, protection, and player visibility (hence why the red is such a bright color and the spider emblem's are white). I feel like its a really well designed suit from the perspective of making it realistic and functional without making it feel gratuitous and busy.

The lotus suit design in that canceled fan project is really good. The small eyed and greenish blue tint makes it more natural.

I'm not a MASSIVE fan of the web design on his face, but I agree, the Edge of Time classic suit is one of, if not, THE best classic suit. Honorable mention to the Web of Shadows suit. Clean up the colors a little bit, and it's incredible

Yea I think the down flaw of that suit is that it just has some many weird lines on blue proportions and I think if the wanted to attempt a blue spider I think they could maybe take some inspiration from the beyond suit and make the front red part of the suit longer like in TASM 1.

i assume the marvel’s avengers iconic suit will be on this list, so i’m stepping in as the minority voice: i think the avengers iconic suit rules. yes, that’s the one with all the tech on it. i don’t normally like that for spidey but i think, somehow, it’s executed really well in-game. the eyes are great, the color and texture of the fabric is great, the detail of the webbing being squared off is great, i even like the detached belt/sleeves (there’s a continuity of angles in the space between red sections which is neat). i could give or take the spider but as a tony stark gift, it’s gotta be a little over-designed. the midnight suns suit (pictured in thumbnail) feels like the same design philosophies applied in the opposite direction- it’s rubbery and angular for the sake of being different. it’s also, i assume, the *only* “classic” spidey costume in the game; avengers at least has a very good “classic” costume as the default, with the iconic suit being unlockable at the end of his mission chain. i get that avengers isn’t a great game, and i’m not defending the really shitty parts of it, but spidey’s iconic suit feels like a spiffy new redesign and it could have been far worse. i appreciate when costumes commit to trying something different, even if i don’t always like the end result also, if the turn off the dark suit is on this list, i’ll throw a hissy fit

To be honest I think the webbing on the classic suit being distorted as attention to detail, keep in mind he’s been Spider-Man for about eight years and until the time of the game he’s been wearing the same suit. You would think that that same suit wouldn’t look the same as day 1

thank god you gave the tasm1 suit some light, it's a really underrated suit even though it's one of the best Spider redesings along with the HomeCo and fortnite one's, it actually feels like something a teen could do with some money (not a bit, just some)

The Web Of Shadows suit is my absolute favourite. The thinner more serious looking lense really plays well into the darker tone of the game. The skin tight, muscular texture of the suit is also a nice touch that compliments the visceral combat of the game. 1:04 in the older versions when he squints, it doesn’t ‘move’ forward like on the MCU version and it makes him look a little derpy. Same thing with ps4 and the new spider-man 2 suit in the trailer Mechanical lenses are still pretty cool.

For me not just Peter, but also Miles, Gwen, Ben, Kaine, Miguel, Jessica, Julia, Mayday, and even Mattie have very solid base designs that certainly be tweaked in various ways with some additions here and there; arm striping for Miles, extra hits of blue for Gwen, various logo web pattern and eye shape variations for Peter, but any of these tweaks need to be well-considered or you can fumble the whole bag

The Shattered Dimensions classic suit is my favorite version. Everything about it is perfect to me, especially the logos. Same with the symbiote suit

The edge of time suit has always been my favourite classic suit. The only complaint imo is the back logo. It seems too low. It could’ve used a slight modification to match the tone of the game. But it’s beautiful regardless. Especially damaged

I think the Edge Time costume messy web is because its homemade. Like seriously, if i was Peter and this was like my 2nd or 3rd suit, i will 100% botch the lines. And i would too busy to make another suit and just keep repairing the same suit, and adding stitches to which distorts the already messy webbing more.

What's your opinion on the new insomniac 2.0 Spidey suit ? I love the brighter red and blue on it a lot , some people don't like the huge white spider symbols but I dig them a lot .

The tasm 1 and 2 are amazing

Steps to a shitty costume 1. Overdesigned logo/same logo on back and front 2. Clashing colors, if the blue is dark make the red light vice versa 3. Random cuts into the red and unbalanced colors 4. Adding unnecessary details. Seams or hemlines are usually fine, but having random panel lines and shit all over him makes him look like a robot it doesn’t work

Out of the blue thought: I love seeing the edge of time suit when it’s all shredded and damaged. I actually think it’s really cool

Perfect spidey suit to me is the classic with only slightly edgier spider logos and 3Dimensionality dividing the red and blue portions as well as the webbing. Be it recessed or raised. Also a nicely TEXTURED fabric, Oh and massive ultimate spidey style very expressive eyes with shutters. That's it. That's perfection.

Sometimes they sew in patterns like that on stunt and muscle suits to hold the padding in place so I’m thinking to go with the armor motif, he has minor padding on his biceps like how he has the red covering his thighs since it’s a thicker material that protects them

I think the fadded lines on the ps4 suit is on purpose to maybe show that it's a really old suit that he's had for 8 years at that point.

One of my favorite versions of the classic suit is the sam raimi suit don't even need to explain why it's good I love the red pattern I love the eyes I love how it fits the style of the movie so well

I've never liked it when they stop the red at his shoulders and just have entirely blue arms with red gloves. I think it looks better with the red and webbing going down the sides of the arms.
