When the first batch of amp modelling pedals from UAFX came out I sat there for a minute thinking oh, look, the classic set of three, Fender, Vox, Marshall. Then I realized wait a minute 🤔Ok we've got Fender, ANOTHER Fender and Vox. Where's the Plexi????? Noooooo!!! I feel so relieved right now!

Yep. Same here. Everybody had the same thought .Uafx made that on purpose. Ímmad at them. Very. It was torture. Love the ruby. Will get the plexi anyway. Even though i know they psychoterrormanipulated me in a hard way. In protest i didnt even consider to buy one of there other pedals. Suckers. Dont do this again.

I have a Deluxe Reverb Tonemaster and I can’t figur out if I would be hearing a Marshall through a Fender instead of just a Marshall. No fx loop

Can you put 2 units one on top row, one on bottom on a 4 bar pedal board, answer is no. i thought SMT enabled pedals to be smaller!

Will this add what I miss with the two notes le crunch. Fk yes.

Could I plug this directly into my Scarlett or would I need to go through a DI box first?

A Plexi isn't what you're looking for if you want sag, they never had a valve rectifier, that's more Bassman/JTM 45 or 6G3 Deluxe and earlier.

I was already considering Friedman IR-X but then this Lion came up. Which one to go with?

For traditional plexi tones the Lion. For a tweaked and modded Marshall style tone the IR-X. Also, if you want a modern high gain tone too, definitely IR-X. The Lion will bring those legendary tones you know from classic records. I hope that helps. Cheers //Kris

Get the Friedman IRX it has real sag and articulates really nice. Pair it with the Ox stomp and it’s a powerhouse hybrid setup. I just received both yesterday and played for hours. It’s awesome!

That is probably the most effective way to use this.

If the led lights green, it means you don't compress the sound with the LA-2A. So there's no compression on this LA-2A demo

Where does the lion go in a signal chain?

That very much depends on the full rig. If you're using it without an amp you can have it after fuzz, wah, comp and overdrive pedals. If you have delay and reverb put them after the Lion, then go into a DI Box and you're done. It's pretty similar if you want to use the Lion with a poweramp, just make sure to turn the cab simulation off in the Lion. That would be fuzz, wah, comp, overdrives, Lion (without cab sim), into the amp's fx loop return, cabinet. I hope that helps. Cheers //Kris

UA has a 2555 modeler already, as soon as they release it in a pedal like the Lion (plexi), I'll sell my amps, lol

I was waiting for UA Marshall style pedal (was expecting it to came in first batch of 3 pedals), but I must say Im disappointed (???). Im pretty spoiled by hearing different plexis (either vintage and modern and historic replicas) and this is kinda not there. Maybe it feels like, its miced in way, like I will not mic it myself? I dont know. I have higher standard for Plexi sound :D :D.

I’m wondering if UA expect us to pay £399 for each individual DIGITAL model I calculate my UA pedal bard will need to be built on 8x4’ sheet to be capable of the same tones as a Hx stomp the models are good but Fractal , neural, fender .. possibly helix 2 or something Else. Can UA not stop rinsing wallets one pedal at a time and just enter the modeller market. Owned Tge first 6 of these so gave it a fair shot before I realised I was being sucked dry. Total cost to me nearly £2000 TOTAL VALUE RECOUPED ON EBAY.. nothing like £2000 And the FENDER TMP which needs work but people are loosing there crap over a £1500 price tag

That was the first thing that came to mind when I heard about the new amp pedal. Creating a flexible board with all these great UAFX pedals is simply rubbish.

These aren't intended for people after a wide range of amp options and just need a model of a specific amp. The Super Bass and V30 emulation is literally my 'main' amp setup and I don't need other emulations or a £1k+ price tag for features I don't need. Considering Plexi's have been used in every conceivable genre featuring a guitar, this is really all anyone actually needs. When I do require all that is in the studio and I already have an Apollo and access to all of UA's amp emulations.

@@3rdStoreyChemist pretty arrogant view - look up Tremonti Creed/AlterBridge Rig, FenderTwin - MesaRectifier - Bogner - Bludotone (no Plexi)... there are a lot of reasons why guitarists use different amps, and not just in the studio

@@heikohesse4666 I'm fully aware guitarists use a number of amps for a variety of reasons. However the vast majority of guitarists are not *insert famous name* playing huge venues with professional and highly skilled engineers for starters. Secondly if someone requires those types of features, then they look at products designed to do that rather than complain about products designed for different end users with different requirements.

1176, LA2A - It is funny how they throw out all their old plugins in pedal format. So it is important to be aware : these are digital emulations, there are many of them out there, they don´t keep their value since they are just code within a metal box.... ok with me, if it sounds good it sounds good. But at the end of the day when I buy a pedal compressor I´d rather buy an Origin Effects Cali76 or a DryBell Unit67.

A digital pedal with a computer inside it is considerably more expensive to manufacture than an analogue fuzz pedal. 🙈 - plus all the R&D that goes into it.

A lot of folks cannot drop $1500-$3000 or more on a tube amp so these offer those on a budget a way to enjoy these tones.
