There was one verse when I was in basic that went The instructors in the army they say are really nice... I finished running early and had to do it twice. There's also They say that in the army the coffee is mighty fine. It looks like muddy water and tastes like turpentine. Or They say that in the [army/navy] your body will look great. My gf saw a [Marine/SEAL] and now I don't even rate. Though that last can be substituted for any 'rival' group. Ie reserves vs regulars, army vs navy vs air, regular vs special, private vs idiot of sufficient rank to have people butt kissing to them, sarge vs the butterbar lieutenant (no I am not still holding a grudge a decade later...that would be unhealthy...of course I'm not). It works in reverse too. They say that in the army a lieutenant in bed is great. But now that they've had a Sargent, the LT doesn't rate. Or something like that... There's an entire subsection of verses dealing with "they said that in..." And sex or attraction.

Hooah! As an Army Veteran, I have to say that this is utterly hilarious and amazing rendition of the cadence! Makes me wish I had gone as a vocal musician instead of being a 42 series when I had the chance! Would love to see this in person!

@@radleyssportscenter441 it’s not for everyone. Make sure you talk to someone you trust that served. It didn’t work out for me because I didn’t do my homework so I got out after 4.

This was fine in monster hunter 🔥

Learned this in 5th grade than did this in cadence in US Army. Cadence was one of my favorites! 1980S CIrca.

These comments are hot fire. (US Army 12B) I was actually trying to find a different cadence, but this made my afternoon.

General Rule #3 Never Leave Your Command until properly left; Under General Rule #1..

These are the guys every soldiers wants to be but make fun of them because they can't be. I honestly can't how many times I sang some version of this song. Saw it on MASH last night and can't get it out of my head now lol.
