I know this has nothing to do with this video but I am having the hardest time in nursing school. I just failed a test and I feel so stupid. I want to quit everyday. I feel like I was supposed to come back to this video. I’ve have seen it already but I clicked on it and the first thing it said was “remember why you started”. I felt that! I needed to read those words. Also, her hair is beautiful.

Keep pushing forward. Just remember it isn't necessary to ace all your courses. A c is fine as long as you pass all your courses. You are not "stupid" or you would never have passed the stiff competition to get into nursing school. Nursing is a language that most people don't know and that is why it is so hard. Doing nursing math is not like anything you could prepare for in high school. On top of all your nursing theory, & support science courses, such as Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Nutrition, etc you also have your clinical rotations and lab as well. So if you have to drop a course then pick it up over the summer session or a different semester. Please make sure to avail yourself of any tutoring as well. There are online resources as well. I don't know if you have to do a paper each semester but get help with that as well if you have to. Also, care plans can be daunting but don't let them frighten you. Just remember what a care plan is. It is how a problem or diagnosis will be addressed for a patient. KZread is an excellent resource. It can help immensely with everything you have to do in your clinical and your labs. Care plans are on KZread. Nursing math is on KZread. The nice thing about KZread is that you can replay the video over and over until you get it. Also, go on nursing forums such as nurse.com for help as well. Most importantly remember that every single nurse went through the exact same thing you are going through. And we all felt "stupid" at some point. I believe that you will not only graduate but pass the nursing boards as well. Trust me when I say that one day you will be the one wearing scrubs and giving the next nursing student the same advice. Congrats on making it into nursing school & the best of luck to you!!!!! 👏👌😁😂👍👍👍😊✔✔✔😅

I know it’s so easy to feel that way and think you are stupid, but please don’t. I took an exam twice to become certified and i cried like crazy the second time. I’m so mortified to take it again just to feel that pain, especially after studying. Sometimes it’s not meant to be. Pick up right where you left off and you will make it.

Having hair this length is no joke because you can’t just go anywhere to get it done. I haven’t been to a salon for full services since 2011 and have seen my hair go from shoulder length to classic length in 5 years because I take care of it. I tried going to a “natural hair stylist” once to be pampered and ended up walking out. Sis was raking through towel dried hair with a wide tooth comb telling me my hair was damaged. I went home, lathered on deep conditioner and gently detangle the knots she created and then booked a trim with a friend that does hair. He said there was nothing wrong with my hair (which I knew) and warned me about that salon having less skilled stylists because they are used to dealing with weaves and relaxers and not how to treat real, natural hair. Lesson learned. I do my hair myself and while it’s time consuming, it’s better off in the long run. Plus, I got the nerve to be tender headed.

I feel you, where I'm from there aren't many hairstylists that do curly hair, the closest one is like a 3 hour drive from my home and I can't do that, I don't trust others with my hair. My friend that also has curly hair went to the salon I was talking about, but she asked for a normal cut and they almost chopped it all off, ended up with a mushroom cut, it looks great on her (she's beautiful), but that was not what she asked for. I ended up doing my own hair in my house

Amen! I went to get my hair done and the woman asked if I was “tender head”, and whenever a stylist ask you just that 1 question should tell you that they don’t know what they are doing. She was ruff with my hair and combed it aggressively and didn’t moisturize it beforehand after she washed it. She allowed my hair to dry and began combing it and pulled hair OUT. I went off and had someone with “more experience” to do it and she still didn’t treat it properly. She didn’t use the comb and press method and tried to tell me that I have different hair textures which is why she couldn’t do a “proper job”, these were black women with weaves and braids, and that’s when I instantly knew that not every stylist knows how to do natural hair.

This is gorgeous! My mom used to have hair like that in the 70s and said it was so heavy she had to cut it because it was causing neck pain. But the photos are #goals! Honestly, the older I get the more I realize my key for growth is washing it waaaay less. Like once every few weeks is ideal if I can pull it off

@@checkmattee222 I have to stick to my once a week wash day. I think my hair would be so unforgiving. I can sometimes push it out to 10 days. During the week I do not have to add more product to my hair.

You wouldn't believe how long it has been since I last washed my hair due to a combination of depression and homelessness but people never stop complimenting it. I just need to brush it out a few times a week, do a search and destroy trim (might take an entire day) every month or two and keep it in two braids or a bun in between. No products besides coconut oil, no tools, no gadgets. imgur.com/OYF0t77

Love the way your handling her hair. I have similar hair and I went to a stylist regularly and one of the stylist who blow dried my hair was aggressive and he couldn't stop saying how much hair I had. I was uncomfortable and made me feel bad about having so much hair.

I have this same hair texture and have been maintaining it on my own for the past 7 years. It took me so long to nurse it back to health after stress and depression caused hair loss. As you mentioned, it takes a lot of patience. I've gotten so much better. It's now grown past the middle of my back. There are no experienced stylists in the area I live, so your channel has been a huge part of my natural hair journey. Thank you for always spreading joy, love, and sharing your knowledge with us all!❤
