The TVR Tuscan Review With Richard Hammond
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Join Richard Hammond as he puts the TVR Tuscan through it's paces, testing whether it's a Super Car or a Roadster. The design of the bespoke interior was made by hand, making it look unique, though you can't deny it's look, it's reliability on the other hand is something to be desired for.

They do. When I last saw a Tuscan, it stands out over the dreary boxes that r on the road today, the Tuscan has a great personality and u can tell it was made with ambition. And the sound is crazy. I pulled along side one in my fn2 type r and damn the tvr can move

Love it...still looks great. All that bespoke kit, in house engine, brass dash parts etc. Wouldnt want to think about the cost to fix or replace bits now though...
Besides the glaring problems with it, probably the best looking car ive seen

Anyone else think the soundtrack is brilliant in this video?
Friend of mine has exactly the same colour combination as this one and when ever we meet up it gets me thinking. Starting to get a big itch to change my Chimaera (Which I love) for the Tuscan... Bangs his head because I have an itch for a T350c too. On my 3rd TVR now and without doubt unless something goes wrong there will be a 4th. You can probably tell it's more than itch because I'm viewing this.

+TVRJAS It is too bad that they can't sell them here in the States. it's because of bullshit laws stating that all new cars foreign or domestic must be equipt with all the new modern safety bullshit, anti-lock brakes, American Bumpers. And the drivers aids. I mean what the fuck does shit really do? Is it there for idiots behind the wheel? Well idiots who cannot control their cars and know it's limitation, shouldn't drive period-problem solved. It is because over here they have people who will sue for anything and everything. They seem pretty impressive,despite what Richard says. I understand the focus of the company and that is to provide a highend sports car with supercar performance for a reasonable price. So what if the interiors all look the same. Or it's doorlocks are a little odd. Itr has the the right stuff though, lightweight car, great handling, with a race proven engine and transmission. They are the last British sportscar made in the UK, by Britons. And I hope the keep in business, interesting company

@@rbagel55I’ve always thought that was laughable too. 25 year import laws “for safety” (but really just to give the American cars a chance to make money) but you can rock up to the local Walmart and buy an AR-15 in most states

I had one for a number of years and loved it! - brilliant fast monster of a car (I could out accelerate big motor bikes) but awful reliability - broke down at a garage after filling up very bad handling on roads with pot holes and tram line indentations in the road, one minute you are driving straight the next you are swerving through no fault of your own. Broke down so often that AA wrote to me to tell me I am using them too much!!!! Buyer beware!!! PS you can't see the engine easily as the bonnet is bolted on!
@eal1

Nigel Harrison I had one for 3 yrs and had one issue that the accelerator pedal fell off when mounting the ramp in garage to investigate loose accelerator pedal. Have since had an Audi s8 and my god that thing broke every 2 months. I guess is luck of the draw but my tvr was one of the most reliable cars I have had took me London to Edinburgh many times. I think he understates the engine a bit.. 350hp from 6 cylinders and 400 in the later ones and that’s without a turbo

Love the Tuscan.
I knew the guy who designed the interiors before the destruction of tvr, he was scathing of the new owners lack of understanding of what he had bought. Blackpool is so much duller and i daresay Fleetwood has lost a true style artist - compare this to a boxster. this was once the best of England.

Just watched it again the other night and it brought back many memories. I also thought about you getting the TVR Tuscan for the film "Looney Tunes", I wish I could have kept one. Any one notice this is the same Tuscan as used in sword fish? How curious, obviously their demo car or something....
@MrHistorian123

+Jody Wiles Yes, it was their demo car. That same car has been on my drive when Pascale (the then owner) paid me a visit from Belgium. I followed it at a distance of 50m down a country road in my Chimaera 4.5 and I couldn't hear my own engine for the noise it was making. Bloody awesome car.
Hammond looked much better without the goatee.
My boss had one. Hideous amount of problems including the engine which was as reliable as a politicians promise, and he rarely got to use it. He swapped it on for a Porsche 928 in the end. Not as good, but at least he got to drive it!

Lol straight off the bat, an Elise is one of the most difficult cars to drive, certainly harder than a Tuscan. Think about this, at the time this review was made an Elise had; no power steering, no traction control and no power brakes or abs, while being mid engined and liable to go down the road backwards at the slightest provocation. Many more Elises got stuffed than Tuscans because people think 'oh they are low power they will be friendly' they aren't.
Thinking about getting one of these second hand, can't drive yet. I'm guessing it's not the best first car...
