He deserves so much credit. This team had two guys in the bullpen they truly trusted and they were essentially both closers. Corbin not only filled the gap in Game 7 but he was electric. Those were probably the best 3 innings he threw all year. He's earned every penny of his contract already. All of them have. That playoff run was the most incredible, thrilling, extremely nerve-wracking, and fun sports ride I've been on. Decades from now if a team has a strong of late inning comebacks in the playoffs, people will say they pulled a Nationals. I've never seen anything like it.

CHRIS SUMMERFIELD I disagree. It was smart to pitch around Soto, his pitch count was low and he wasn’t in any trouble. He should have at least been allowed to face Kendrick and see if he could get out of the inning. He wasn’t wearing down at all, he hung one changeup the entire game

95 years of pain, misery, suffering - washed away. For all the generations who never saw it, they finally did it. For all of us, they finally did it. I never want this winter to end. I want to go back and live it all again. Everything we've gone through was worth it. My Nationals are the World Series Champions. All is right with the world of baseball, the greatest sport in the world. They stayed in the fight. They finished the fight. They won the fight. Go Nats. ⚾️🇺🇸
I started having the same feeling about this Nats team that I had for the '18 Caps going toward their Stanley Cup .... TEAM OF DESTINY!! I honestly never thought Id see a Nationals World Series. After all the struggles and heartbreaks in DC sports ... this still brings tears to my eyes. I just wish my grandfather could have seen it ;( he was a life long Senators fan ... he passed away in 04, so he never even got too see baseball come back to DC :(

Lmao savage! World Series champions 2019 baby!
Turning points were games 1, 2, 6, and 7 started by Scherzer and Strasburg.
First time in MLB history where it went 7 games and the home team couldn’t win at home. Nats take first 2 games in Houston, Houston takes next 3 games in DC and Nats take last 2 games in Houston. Amazing series to watch.
I will never forget this team and the 2018 capitals. Forever thankful.
As a Rays fan stationed in DC, I took the Nationals as my second team in 2013. I never want this off-season to end. This is the greatest season of baseball I've ever been blessed to witness. GO NATS! ⚾️🇺🇸🦈🏆💍
Here it is April 22nd 2020 and I’m still tearing up after watching this for the 20th time. I’ve been a fan since 2005, went to spring training in 05 and 06 in Florida, saw a few games in RFK that first season, then prob 6-8 games a year at Nats Park, watched Strasburgs debut and having him live up to the hype, then the demoralizing blow when he threw out his arm needing tommy john surgery, watched us blow series leads, game leads vs the Cardinals, then to win all 5 elimination games and have the fight this team has/had in 2019 is simply amazing. Proud to be a Nationals fan for life
"Kendrick can really shoot the ball to right field." - How-ie prophetic!
This has got to be one of the best ever WS in the history. So happy the Nats won!

As a Dodgers fan I’m glad the nationals won Giving the Astros a taste what it’s like to lose a Game 7 on their own home Turf and to lose to a team that didn’t even cheat to do it
brings tears to my eyes. such a beautiful sport.

I will never forget that season, that post season, that championship. It was amazing.
Rewatching this game always makes my eyes watery.
For all those players who gave their best but never got to the big show, for all the fans who endured losing seasons and bitter disappointment, for all the players, coaches, and managers whose contributions made this team, THIS is what it is all about! GO NATS!
God damn even as a Phillies fan its heart warming to see the Nats win it all. Plus the fact that they got Howie from us. I always liked him.

This game was awesome. I will always remember it.
Montreal Expo's (Nats) won their first World Series and that's all I could have wanted to see. Just beautiful to see it and for Davey Martinez a student of Felipe Alou this is closure for me. A former Expo brings it hone to not just Washington but Montreal too.
Didn't have to steal signs to do that...
I want to see the full documentary. I just can't believe how those Astros fans will regret this.
Asdrubal Cabrera went from the Mets to the Nats and won a World Series with them, good for him getting away from the coupons, LFGM 2020 and congrats Nats on your first WS win. I’m a Met fan but I’m a bigger baseball fan
i love these guys man so muc
I love you guys! Thanks!
Being an Angels fan I was so happy for Howie. The Angels should have never let him go and the Dodgers turned him into a scrub. They were playing an old and cripple Chase Utley over him. Howie got revenge against the Dodgers with the grand slam too!
These were my favorite WS Champions of the 2010-2019 decade.
I watched a bunch of videos on the nationals ws, but by far this is my favorite one.....great footage
Should build a statue of Howie because without him DC still doesn't have a World Series. Everyone was great, but Howie delivered in the biggest moments time after time.

Thank you @mlb
i’m a dodger fan... but i was rooting for them in the world series and this video never fails to make me cry. ❤️
Never gets old. #LetsGoNats
Greatest sound in World Series history.
The ironic part of this is that I don't think the Astros expected Greinke to last this long into the game - the plan was to get through 4 or so and then bring their ace Cole in. But Greinke lasted so long that Hinch went to the normal late-inning bullpen guys instead and they couldn't get the job done.
Howie is a hard fought veteran and glad he got his moment in history
So great beating them in their home stadium!
Those Astros announcers sounded less partisan than Matt Vasgersian did on that call! You could hear the "OH NOOOOO!" in his voice on his call of Kendrick's homer!
He seems like a really cool dude
SO EXCITING!!!
The best part is we did this in the 7th 8th and 9th inning. The whole game astros thought the had us
What a sound! A "gong" of doom for the Astros of 2019. I have been a Nats fan since 1952, when I learned that they were our team. We suffered through losing season after losing season in the '50s, through the 1959 season when they started respectably and, after the All-Star Break lost 19 consecutive games to break the MLB record. The 1960 team was pretty good, with young players like Harmon Killebrew, Bob Allison, Jim Kaat, Camilo Pascual, and then Calvin Griffith took the team to Minneapolis. More losses with the expansion team, and then Bob Short took them off to Dallas. No baseball for 33 years. More losses before respectability in 2011. Bad luck and losses in the first round from 2012 onward. Now, oh wow! What games, all through the playoffs! What a series!

That hit was the greatest moment in Washington Sports history in the past 30 years. I have no clue how we got Howie for $3-4M a year when he was hitting .300. Probably the best value in sports history for someone not on a rookie deal.
