Never fished a tube but a friend gave me a pack of tubes and now i cannot wait to apply what you teach us here, Randy. Both your channels are in my top 5 of channels i follow as it has made me and still is making me a better angler using your advice. Works even here in South Africa.

I love fishing tubes and I do these mods and they work! Wetting the tube weight is a new idea that I will try. Drives me crazy feeding the weighted head in some times lol. Thanks Randy

Next to jigs, the tube is my favorite lure. Easy to use and rig. I’ve found the Bass also like a tube in the Fall too. Not just a Springtime lure.

Cut a foam ear plug in 2 ! Get a new pencil and push it up into the tube ! You can add scent also * Works wonders !

With a green pumpkin or watermelon tube, dip the tail's in orange or sometimes blue spike it. Then hang on!

I do most of those… BPS used to make some super soft tubed with the hook slot molded in. Back in the days before there were a million styles of creature baits we used to shove craw worms and curl tails up in them and Texas rig them on khale style wider gapped hooks. There’s a lot of neat stuff you can do with tubes.

A Randy try neko rig a 4inch tube with 2/16oz weight on a spinning rod med-light ! Weight may be less or more due to depth .

The stupid tube rig is fun and is great to fish through cover. I wouldn't fish with an exposed hook unless I was vertical video game fishing.

Tube heads were a pain. I've used the wide head tubes on lake michigan. Nice glide. That wide gap looks good

Kind of a side note but are the break down of the lakes current, or do break them down once for each season and keep it posted. I know y’all have been doing for a while now. Thanks for all your work Randy!

Try using a lighter jighead .let's say you are getting hung on a 1/8oz go to a 1/16.if you are having trouble finding the right size jigheads with hook size ,what I do is buy plain jig hooks and round split shot .I then crimp the shot on the bend of the hook like a regular jig that way you can customize the weight and it will be cheaper

Try the "stupid rube", I think you'll find that rig works better in that situation. I love the rig because the tube comes through cover really easily.

Just put them in boiling water for a minute or two. Same as topwater frogs. It softens the plastic

Hard to boil water on the front deck of a skeeter in the middle of a tourney. Also boiling doesnt change color or exterior texture, only softens

I personally disagree with you on separating the tenticles. The ones stuck together or generally right across from each other and end up looking like craw pinchers in the water
