Most people complained about Sir Topham Hatt was being too hard on Thomas but never take into consideration that Thomas himself was no better.

One gripe I had was with Thomas's arc is that throughout the story, we see him make mistakes, really earning his downfall, but we never really see him make up for any of it. Yeah, he tries to save the treasure, but that was one situation where he also FAILED.

I like that return of Jack and the Sodor Construction Company,Donald and Douglas the Scottish Twin Engines and Daisy the Diesel Railcar

Thomas would've dare to leave Sodor just like he went to misty island like Bash, Dash, & Ferdinand before to me.

It's the one between STH and Thomas isn't it? Let me guess what he said... " It does not matter if Thomas saved everyone, all all the sh*t" that he repeats alot.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of this movie. The only things I like are the returning characters like the Scottish twins, Daisy & some of the pack members, the Arlesdale railway being introduced into the show & the ending of the film. Also, Ryan & Skiff are decent new characters.

I had the same feeling as you. Sir Topham Hatt makes everything worse, he wants Thomas to leave Sodor for good after that dynamite incident! Topham is a criminal, and he should… 1: Fired from being a controller 2: Write an Essay on how he used his anger on an engine 3: be Arrested and charged 4: Let Go

Sir Topham Hatt is clearly a Jackass and a Big Jerk to Thomas! Thomas didn’t lose the dynamite, it fell out of the truck so how can it be his FAULT?! Topham, needs to go see a Doctor or better yet a psychiatrist to deal with his anger management!!! Thomas found the pirate ship in the movie, but did Sir Topham Hatt believed him in the first bit, NO! Topham is nothing but a tool, and an Idiot! Thomas after the dynamite incident gives Topham A half Assed Apology saying it wasn’t his fault, but Topham was being very very rude to him and ordered him to go into his shed for NO REASON!!!

I've only watched this movie once and I don't plan on watching it again, this was such a terrible way of celebrating Thomas's 70th anniversary (even though he didn't actually debut until 1946), although I can praise it for the return of Alfie, Donald and Douglas, Oliver the Excavator and Max and Monty and introducing the Arlesdale engines, don't really care for Daisy though.

This remind me of Hayao Miyazaki's The Castle of Cagliostro but with Thomas characters i think it was inspired by Castle of Cagliostro because it gives me some Cagliostro vibes in this film you should watch this film i think Sodor's legend of the lost treasure was inspired by this film also great review.

I think you missed a bit of trivia. According to a Twitter post from SiF, in the pre-production of Sodor’s Legend Of The Lost Treasure, an idea was proposed to give Donald and Douglas blue liveries just like in the Railway Series, but was dropped in favor of their original black colors.

To me, this film is not as good as when I saw it. It's a good movie, don't give me wrong. It was mind-blowing seeing the return of many as well as the appearance of the Small Railway Engines. Not to mention Sailor John is a very cool villian (Though not as cool as Diesel 10 who is my opinion the best villian ever). The songs are also very good. However, there some things that sadly put me off the film.... For starters, the Fat Controller is a real jerk here. I know he's meant to be a father figure to the engines, but here I feel like they went too far with his character. It really hurts just seeing him shouting at poor Thomas, especially the scene after the dynamite incident. What hurts even more is that Thomas doesn't shout back. I mean Thomas has stood up for himself to other characters before (Such as Diesel 10 in Thomas and the Magic Railroad, Spencer in Hero of the Rails and, of course, Hector in Hector the Horrid), so why he doesn't stand up to his own controller? Another thing that puts me off the film is Gordon. He was the one who caused the whole mess in the first place and he doesn't get found out and punished! I really don't like they messed up the relationship between Thomas and Gordon in the Brenner-Era. In my opinion, what should have happened is that Thomas should have snapped back at the Fat Controller and run away from the Island of Sodor. The Fat Controller would then feel guilty for his actions and go to find his number one engine and apologise. After that, he then punishes Gordon by taking away his express and having him work at the Smelters. Also, I think that they should have had Percy, Duck and Rosie share the main role with Thomas (By having Percy looking after Thomas' Branchline and taking a dislike to Ryan, Duck comforting Thomas and Rosie telling the Fat Controller off as well as having all three going with The Fat Controller to find Thomas and bring him home), as well as include the songs Why Should I Stay and I'm not a Useful Engine Anymore from Thomas & Friends: The Big and All Aboard Live Tours. If that had happened in the actual film then it would have been in my Top 5. However, that's my opinion, so if anyone likes SLOTLT, then I respect your opinion. In my opinion, SLOTLT is nowhere near as good as TATMR, TGR, TGD, TAB and KOTR (My Top 5 Favourite Thomas Movies), however I will say that it's a lot better than... *Cough-Cough* BWBA...

22:04 Also some characters that didn't apear in the movie are dowager hatt sir topham hatt's mother and Lady hatt Sir topham hatt's wife originally those characters are gonna have important roles both of them are gonne be whitness of 3 inccidentes the first one is coaches inccident at dawn both of them knew that wasn't thomas's fault it was gordon's fault the second one is the dynimite inccidente here dowager and lady hatt are gonna protect thomas from sir topham hatt for scolding him just because he saves ryan who's a genuinely nice engiene and the third one is they're gonna be mad at sir topham hatt for not listen at thomas because he discovers a pirate ship dowager hatt is gonna gave a great and resonable scolding at his son sir topham hatt and lady hatt is gonna be angry at him. And the reason that lady hatt and dowager hatt were deleted in the movie is because the scene when lady hatt and sir topham hatt argument in his house at knapford station make's his grand children stephen and bridgett hatt and his engienes including thomas very worried was inapropiate for kids.
