    Man, this season was so weird, with its bigger focus on coming off as a serious documentary - even the narration is lacking in energy and, of course, in puns. Still cool to watch, since it's Mythbusters anyway, but there's a "spark" of fun missing, with the overly-serious presentation, the lack of the Build Team, the occasional overly-self-serious visuals...

    Given that the dart pads are about 40'' (101.6cm) long, to get out of them before they trigger after 1s, all you have to do is run at 1m/s (in reality, even slower will do, more on that later). That is 3.6km/h. For reference, pretty much anyone can run 6 times faster. Delay 0.05s would on paper mean you'd have to run at 72km/h, but in reality, there is some delay in the pressure plate, wiring, in the solenoid, and most importantly before the ball actually gets to travel from its initial position to the point of possible impact. If all of that takes say 0.15s in total, you can still outrun the thing at 24km/h speed (which is totally doable for most people).

  • @christianellegaard7120
    @christianellegaard7120Ай бұрын

    I believe that the chasm jump would have worked without the added sandpaper if a different technique was used for the actual jump. What he did in the jump was pull BACK and apply full weight to the whip. What would have worked would be to try a full jump over the chasm, only using the whip for that last little bit of support needed to reach that distance. Another technique that would easily have worked, is to just forget about the whip and superman across the chasm. Its not that big of a distance.

Call me old fashioned if you want, but the reformatting of the Mythbusters show does not appeal to me. It becomes more of a focus on the building of the project rather than the testing of the myth. There is more video on what Adam and Jamie were doing to build it rather than the science and engineering behind what was being done. The film seems to run slower and more casual than the earlier seasons. I perhaps would have enjoyed it more if it ran for half the time per episode rather than nearly an hour. Not having the "Build Team" somehow made this so much better than the other eps I've watched. More focus on the myths, less on the "entertainment".

    For those who miss the build team: Just pause the video at certain intervals, then make some sort of loud ka-boom noise, followed by a yell of "woha! this is so awesome!!" Seriously: I don't think I noticed it as much when I watched the show on TV, but the build team's antics can get quite repetitive when you watch a couple of episodes in a row on YT. That said: I'd gladly have the build team segments back if that meant new Mythbusters episodes.

    And don't forget to sub in Tori and Grant high-fiving while Kari stands awkwardly beside them.

    For true authenticity, repeat the same part over and over again and put tins of unnecessary recaps in. Guess they did that cause US TV is just adverts with the occasional TV show thrown in.

    It's not bad quality, it's your system that's doing that, 1080 for me, looks great, learn how to use technology.

    Learn how to change video quality. KZread always downgrades stuff to save bandwidth, don't select auto, choose what your phone/PC /console can handle, it's 1080p 60 frames for me.

    Am I the only one that kinda feels a toxic vibe from Adam? Like he wants to be in charge of everything and be constantly the center of attention?

    It was Jamie's place and his show before he brought Adam on. I can see how Adam's obnoxious tendencies would have quickly worn Jamie down.
