The problem is EXPECTATION vs. EXECUTION. Most people come into this thinking they're owed something. The entrance fee is ZERO therefore you need to bust your butt to make something out of nothing. Successful YTers just make it look easy. Im having a blast with my new channel but man it's tons of work and WELL WORTH IT. It's my creative space and I think im on to something amazing. It's a combination of passion and execution that drives me. :)

I remember when I was a kid and my dad used to tell me to get my fat ass off the computer since it's a waste of time and then I went on to become a senior software developer at Microsoft making more money than he ever did by a factor of 10x. Now I have a 700,000+ subscriber KZread channel doing what I love and it's paying the bills. The only thing I would add to this video is that the more KZread comes saturated the more SEO drops and money earning potential does also drop along with it. The more people that do KZread the less money there will be to go around and the harder it will be for new people to be noticed. That being said though nobody should ever give up on their dreams and if they are legitimately passionate and want to do something they can succeed at it no matter what it is. Passion is the driving force behind success, it's not enough to just work hard. You need that passion!

Hey bud just wanted to say thank you! This was the most straight up and honest video about the potential of being a KZread creator. I dealt with everything you mentioned involving negativity and no one believing in what you're trying to do. And because of that I gave up about a year ago and just started getting back into it again recently. I'm not looking back anymore I'm getting better and faster at editing everyday. I invented a new way to film the sport, and today I have 25,000 subscribers, and 3,800,000 views on my channels... Just playing paintball. And I rarely make videos, but I have over 250 done so far. It is a TON of work, but I haven't paid to play paintball in the past year, EVERY game I've gotten to play for free because of my youtube "fame". It is a really fun second source of income!

Mirich Teny you realize that was factored in right? you definitly do NOT get 70 cents to $2 for every monetized view, you get that per 1k views... thats also why he said certain months are better, because theres more adds being produced (higher add budget = more monetized views because an add that might only play 10k times/day in one month, is playing 50k times per day a different month, so more adds to select from, so more monetized views)

I've been wanting to do KZread since i was in 5th grade. I used to make videos and show my classmates but my teacher shut me down. I stopped doing videos and i just barely started making videos again. I just graduated highschool and im finally doing what i wanted to do. I don't know why it took me so long to return to KZread but im so happy i did. I decided to follow my dreams, yeah the money would be cool but for the time being i enjoy making the videos. Thanks for making me realize that this dream could become a reality. Having the job of entertaining others is what i want to do. Thanks Nuggets for making me realize that this dream is very very very possible. (:

I agree, it is a lot of workand dedication. On my channel (not this account) I would be recording for like an hour then editing out fails or boring stuff or speeding up the vid at a certain point, adding music to it, then haveing to wait an hur for it to render, and another 20 min for it to upload. Then you need to add a title and then a escription with links to sites you may have used, then adding tags to it so its easier to find.... its alot and can be overwhelming at a young age.(14)

Your videos are decent but if you want your channel to grow you should do something that people want to see, like what's popular right now (pokemon go for example). A lot of people talk about Pokemon Go so you have to do something special to stand out tho

I get quite a few videos 10+ mins with midrolls that do very well. Say 5K views - makes $20. (around $4 per) Yet out of those 5K, only like 2K are monetizable, so the CPMS are insane. ($10 per) Usually the range you mentioned is more accurate but it's applying to "Total Views" which may confuse viewers. If you get 5K views, chances are 50% aren't monetizable. (Mobile, other forms etc) Videos under 10 minutes get hit hard.. 5k may may $5-10.

Finally a video that 💯 and STRAIGHT UP!!! THANKS MY BROTHA!! Just started my own page highlighting in a humorous way skateboarding, Skateboard sneakers, skaters ETC etc

I just made my channel about a year ago, and I am just now getting paid. Its seriously fun making these car videos, and this video was an inspiration to me. Thanks man! If I can make this a career.. thats my dream. Talking about cars lol

Appreciate the insight, definitely some things to think about and put to use.

The problem is everything has been done on KZread by now. There's like a billion people trying to make it on KZread. So doing something no body has done is extremely difficult. Now years ago it was easier bc most were just watching, now all are trying to make it a job

Disable adblock on the domain of KZread, I was thinking about it during this video and I realized this is peoples job this is there living, so why are you taking away from that just because you don't want to watch an advertisement, especially when watching youtubers you love cause even tho liking their video is supporting them turning off adblock is supporting them just as much if not more

I never will disable add block becouse I never watch KZread on my PC. i play games myself I don't watch them when I'm able to simply start up a game and have fun i use my phone and I dont get adds on my phone luckily becouse if I did I would disable then i do not care for they're income becouse it's simply unfair. What about those people that bust they're ass for 800 dollars a month? Is this fair? Some idiot playing games online gets paid 100k a guy works his ass off doing physical labour for 8 hours please. This was made in 2016. Im not saying giving up on youtube, but the income might not be as much now because of corperate greed.

Videos like these I think are incredibly important in keeping a healthy environment on KZread. Too much information is kept away from viewers/fans and as a result they fill in the gaps themselves and jump to conclusions. (this is why there is so much drama on KZread) I hope to see more videos like this from McJuggerNuggets but from many other top content creators on this website. Thanks for you time.

One of these days I'll have the views to turn this into a full time job. Until then, I'll just continue the daily grind of working my other job.

Very inspirational words, Jesse. My biggest dream of all is to be a KZreadr and Director/Writer in film. I have so many ideas I wanna put into film and such. I actually plan to do some web series' on my channel soon, one of them being a series I wanna release next year in October. A Horror Anthology series that takes inspiration off of American Horror Story, the Silent Hill franchise, and more. The series is called Legion of Horrors, and I hope for it to do well because it's something I've been thinking about a lot, and how I want to do it, what I want the monster of the first season to look like and be capable of, and more. This video further influences me to pursue KZread and Film as careers. It's something I have a lot of confidence and passion about. Thank you so much for making this video. It clears up so many unanswered questions, and I believe everyone needs to see this video, and when they do, they'll further understand how it all works, and they'll too get inspired. :)

Your an inspiration man, i just wanted you to know that, you probably won't read this, but if on the off chance you did your so down to earth, no bullshit just truth and passion, i work 40 hours a week as a baker i start work at 4am and leave work at 3pm most days but i still manage to spend 20 hours working and editing a video once a week, its such a strain and hard work but seeing videos like this keeps me going. keeps me motivated so Thanks man. :) keep up your passion.

Planet Chucky I personally knew someone who worked 80+ hours a week at a convenience store; he bought a motorcycle, a ranger rover (leased) and went on a trip to Dubai, all at the age of 19, before he sadly passed away from a motorbike accident. He was one of the hardest working people I ever met; whenever I meet/hear about hard working people, I always get a feeling of respect and acknowledgement for them
