THE TRUTH ABOUT SYNTHROID SIDE-EFFECTS: OSTEOPOROSIS, HAIR LOSS AND WEIGHT LOSS

Levothyroxine (Brand name Eltroxin in the UK and Synthroid, Unithroid, Levoxyl, Levo-T, Euthyrox in the US) is a medicine used to treat an underactive thyroid gland (hypothyroidism). The thyroid gland makes thyroid hormones which help to control energy levels and growth. Levothyroxine is taken to replace the missing thyroid hormone, thyroxine. This video will help you understand more about Levothyroxine and the side-effects that are frequently asked about.

Hello Stormy, Please talk to your doctor, I have exactly what you have...I listened to a Dr abd he said change your medicine, You are taking T4 and it is not working, change it to T3, . T4 is to turn into the hormone T3 but T4 did not work for me, so I am now on Liothyronine ..I take 2 , 25 mag a day, and am now losing weight, where it seemed like every month I was gaining 5 pounds, I went right up to 189 pounds, and now down to 147 in just 6 months..Don't give up please...just talk to your doctor, check videos on T3 for thyroid..

@StormyCoop I know exactly how you feel! This medication destroyed my life for 20 years and I just wanted to give up! Please talk to your Dr. and ask them to try you on Armour or Nature-throid ... if your Dr. truly cares about you he or she should be willing to do anything to help you! It took me 20 years to find a Dr. with an open mind to try Armour thyroid for me... while it's not perfect I feel alot better and not like death everyday anymore! I also take alot of vitamins/supplements, good luck to you!

Look into Armour. I had a total Thyroidectomy and felt like crap for 8 years. I started having cardiac issues and major swelling. I went off Synthroid for two days as a test and I felt great! So I started taking the Armour I never tried and by week three I turned a corner. If you read the actual package insert it has a black box warning for cardiac problems. I checked off about every side effect including hypercalcuria! Not one dr or Endo explored the possibility of it being the prescription. 😠

I had hair loss, and brow loss, and severe knee pain. I weaned myself off the med, and my knees feel great, my hair loss has stoped and my eyebrows have started to grow back. So not sure why.... 🤔

Is there another alternative instead of taking levothyroxine? I have all the side effects that you mentioned in the video. I hate taking it😢.

There are Bioidentical hormones but you would have to discuss this with your healthcare specialist. Finding the root cause is key. Could the hypothyroidism be due to environmental toxins, gluten, stress and nutritional deficiencies? This would need a doctor who practises Functional medicine like Dr Mark Hyman.
