Back in the 1990s, the government wanted to implement tuition fees. But the students went to the streets and protested this, and fortunately we got the government to drop it. And I am glad this lasted.

Oh really? I never read about how the "free tuition" in Germany started. Thank you for sharing that!

@@wendyazubuike Actually, the lack of tuition fees is older than that. Until 1970, there were "Hörergelder" (150 German Marks, which is about €316 in today's money). But they were abolished after student protests. In the mid-1990s, the governments considered introducing tuition fees again - but again, student protests stopped them.

Hi Wendy, Great content! Please, what University did you study in? how difficult is it to learn german? and how easily would you say it is to secure a job or specifically a tech job?
@wendyazubuike

Hi! Thank you! I studied at the University of Freiburg; and my program was English-taught, so there was no pressure to learn German. I am learning German at my own pace, which makes it easier. And yes, it is very easy to secure a tech job in Germany…a lot times you’re not even required to know German for a tech job.
Like how much can I pay for master study and the requirements needed . I think I will also need the proof of fund for single and for family visa

Hi. I already mentioned in the video that public universities offer free tuition to all students (which means you don’t have to pay any money/school fees), you just have to look for public universities (and not private universities) when you’re doing your research. And the requirements for application varies depending on the school you’re applying to Yes, you’ll need the proof of fund; except you have a scholarship.
Hi mam, i have submitted our visa documents on March 15 th so am waiting for my visa. Then university lecture start on April 8th. And IELTS 6.5. and my interview i feel nervous. So why delay visa?? Because 2 months completed. If your opinion visa approval or rejected??? And emmbasy asked that you will be contacted as soon as your application has been decided they telling

Hi Have you tried writing or calling the embassy? The long waiting time could also be as a result of the work load of the embassy. You can also write to the university to extend your admission to the next semester, if it gets really late. Good luck to you!

Is the low tuition or no tuition fee still valid in todays economy?
@wendyazubuike
2 ай бұрын
Yes it is. It’s only very few universities that require any tuition at all. Most of the universities are all free
Is there any language requirement for these universities?
@wendyazubuike
Ай бұрын
Yes. The language requirements differ depending on the course you want to apply for. For instance, if you’re applying for an English taught course, then you need to have an English proficiency certificate such as IELTS
My problem with them is this their blocked account

The blocked account is basically "proof of finances", which is a common requirement whenever you want to travel to any other country for studies. However, in Germany this is basically the only monetary requirement since tuition is free…which cannot be said for other countries where you have to provide "proof of finances" and still pay outrageous tuition.
