The Truth about Satan and Demons with Father Vincent Lampert

Explore the supernatural realm of angels and demons and learn about the different kinds of demonic influence in our lives - from demonic possession to sleep paralysis - with Father Vincent Lampert, an official exorcist for the Roman Catholic Church.
As strange as it may sound, the Bible repeatedly makes the case that there really is another realm in which spiritual forces of Light and Darkness wage war against each other. So if we’re going to believe there are good angels intervening in our lives, we should also have the courage to explore the dark side of the spiritual world - Satan and demons. Father Vincent Lampert, exorcist for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis of the Roman Catholic Church, reveals how evil seeks to work in all of our lives, and how to stop it.

@@Albert-the-Astro - I think I would, too. I like the way he frames us as all being God’s children who belong to different, extended families. While I have some strong feelings & beliefs about different teachings of ALL sects of Christ-followers, I have to keep enough humility to know that I don’t know it all, & that even if I disagree with some of the teachings &/or practices of a particular sect, they’re probably getting something right that I’m getting wrong. This priest’s humility is something I see missing in so much of mainstream Western Christianity / organized religion. I’d like to see more of that humility in our corporate church, & certainly in the Western church.

I've been a Catholic now for 70 years and I can honestly say the first 40 years I was not the best Catholic, but one day unexpectedly, and it is a long story but I had a revelation from God while meditating on The Passion of Christ and ever since that I never miss an opportunity to try to get people to believe in Jesus and to join the Christian family. There was this man who was an atheist and we started to have conversations and I kept telling him all that I know but he never seemed to really want to believe and then suddenly he begins to read the Bible and slowly begins to believe and he lets me know and I was thrilled and full of gratitude to the Lord certainly not taking any credit at all but knowing full well that the Holy Spirit moved his heart but I will tell you honestly that first month that he was gradually becoming a believer I was absolutely being tormented by dark Forces... everything I picked up I dropped, everything I cooked, I burned, I was tripping all over my house, I had the strangest little afflictions that would come on me suddenly including fear for no reason at all.... I did have sleep paralysis one time.... I had vivid dreams that weren't nightmares but they were very disturbing... I have a bad elbow and I must have banged it 10 times a day and I could go on and on... And I could not figure out what was happening to me, and I prayed while I was saying the rosary of the sorrowful mysteries and I am sure it was the Holy Spirit that just let me know that the devil and the demons were mad at me and tormenting me and to pray against it and not to worry about it... Which I did and it stopped... and again with another person, the same thing happened, so I am no longer afraid and I will never stop trying to bring people to the truth which is Jesus Christ and may he always protect me! But yes indeed, demons do not like it when the Holy Spirit comes out of your heart and goes into another heart!

Interesting what Father says about paralysis. I saw demonic entities repeatedly as a child after my family moved to an old home in Massachusetts when I had just turned four years old. These beings would usually enter my room and I would be paralyzed, unable to move. I would try to scream, but no sound would come out. My parents told me that these encounters were only nightmares, but I was never able to convince myself or that. In June of 2014 while camping out in a very remote area in a forest in Oregon, some sort of portal, a fiery-red doorway into a barren, red world opened up about 75-80 feet up the road that lead into our camp at 2:30 AM. What emerged from that portal or gateway? The SAME damned things that I saw as a child. My friend and I fended off these little red-eyed monsters for two nights in a row, from 2:30 AM until dawn, keeping them from entering our campsite. These beings were short, maybe 3 - 3.5 feet tall, very stocky and powerfully built, entirely black, blacker than black, with glowing red eyes like hot coals. They were humanoid, in that they walked on two legs, had two arms and a head. Their arms were rather long and also very muscular. Their faces were flattish, vaguely humanoid but very bestial. They had sloping shoulders and not much of a neck - again, very powerfully and robustly built. They were 100% the same things that I saw for almost five years that we lived in that house in Massachusetts, from ages four to almost nine years old. I even saw them outside of my bedroom. Then they showed up on the other side of the country, forty years later. I can only assume that they are attached to me, which would explain all the other weird crap that has happened to me over the years. A year or so later, after I returned to my Catholic faith, I emailed Fr. Lampert and several other exorcists about this incident. Fr. Lampert's secretary replied to me, but explained that he could only help people within his archdiocese. Father Chad Ripperger and Father Gary Thomas (who enlisted the help of Fr. Jeffrey Grob, the exorcist for the Chicago Archdiocese) were the only ones to respond to me directly. Fathers Thomas and Grob seemed perplexed, and suggested that maybe they were space aliens (????). I thought that was strange, but I appreciated their attempt to help. Fr. Ripperger did not speculate about the nature of these things, but he sent me some prayers and other suggestions, including a prayer to consecrate myself to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I have not had any issues since then, but I have changed quite a bit spiritually (much for the better, I believe). Thanks be to God for those priests who take on the ministry of exorcism. This is real stuff, and people suffer. Indeed, I believe the whole world now suffers from the influence of the diabolic as man increasingly embraces evil.

@@johnmckeron3663 Praying the rosary was one of Fr. Ripperger's strongest recommendations. It helps enormously. The exorcists are corredt in telling us that God puts these demons in our life so that we can increase in holiness. This last incident in 2014 happened when I was very lapsed and openly questioning most of what the Catholic Church teaches us. I no longer question anything. That only came from my own pride and lack of humility. That all sort of fell away in the months after that incident. It's not like it was even a decision on my part. I just stopped questioning and accepted. I look at this as a religious experience, although not one of those pleasant ones we more often hear about.

I think I had such an experience when I was sexually abused as a five yr old(?) my mother told me all my experiences were my own fault. I never really got over that as I had no one to help me. I believe that to be the source of my insomnia. I first expressed this horror when in my late thirties. At a young age many sad experiences become attached to our DNA. Read Dr Nadine Burke-Harris’s book that presents ACE: Adverse Childhood Experiences. It helped me with the very long list of abuse. I try to go to Jesus directly, through HIS MOTHER or through GOD’S Glorified friends, the Saints and through asking the souls in Purgatory to assist me( I always pray for them. To help me and to help them, in HEAVEN they will be able to help me by the GRACE of GOD.🙏🩸🙏

His faith is a granite rock inside him, I would imagine any poor evil bouncing off uselessly. Evil does exit. Trouble is, it is banal, wearying, nasty and insidious. It lurks in corners, envious of happiness and joy. It’s recognising evil that can be hard.

Before I approached the priests I went to my psychologist of 10 yrs, amazing man. I needed to verify that I am not crazy,or hear voices. When you talk to priests on certain paranormal activity they get confused, one priest said to me GOD IS TESTING YOU WITH A PIECE OF 🍬 CANDY that did it to me, I left almost in tears.Another priest said,YOU ARE TO COMPLEX FOR ME, and sent me to another priest who looked at me as if I were hallucinating, again I felt hopeless. Came home to pray begged God to guide me and it happened that same night when Father Lampert pop unto the screen and answered many of the questions I had been asking the priests. @@MaybeGodPodcast I used to run a print Christian ad agency, LPI of St. Louis, and have been in hundreds of Christian churches around the US. Not once did I walk into a protestant church and get the sense of the divine, because Jesus Christ isn't there. I've walked into Orthodox Russian and Greek churches and there was a sense of the divine. Walking into Catholic churches there is the real presence of Jesus Christ, and not just during Eucharist adoration or for Mass. I have a friend John, who was raised methodist and he hated the Catholic church and disliked the Lutheran church, but would not discuss this with Phil or Ronnie, 2 good friends of John and myself, because Phil and Ronnie are secular yet Phil was raised Catholic and Ronnie Lutheran. John cursed his sister for becoming Catholic, I mean her cussed her out badly and cursed her like a gypsy he was so incensed. After their stepdad Buddy died of liver cancer a family friend gave John a book on the Blessed Virgin Mary's appearances, and he was so mad at her, he read the book just to prove to her that Mary was really the devil, and Catholics were not Christians. Well John read the book and as Saul became Paul, John wanted to become Catholic. I asked him do you know there were 50,000+witnesses on 10/13/1917 at Fatima, Portugal at the Blessed Virgin Mary's final appearance, with before and after photos, and he did. He told me he actually felt Christ's presence praying at Eucharistic adoration in a Catholic church. The family friend later became his confirmation sponsor and his sister forgave him for cursing her for becoming Catholic.

One day "My grace is sufficient for you" pop on my head repeatedly. Finally it registered that I was 'hearing' this not from my own thinking and I sat d own and pondered it for a bit and prayed. I 'knew' it was a message God wanted me to hold on to and I had concern. My husband was on a road trip and I thought perhaps he was in a serious accident, and I started to become concerned. Well then of course my heart heard once again and stronger "My grace is sufficient for you." I became at peace and acknowledged His message with acceptance. "O.K. God. If You say it is sufficient than it's sufficient." And I dropped my concerns with Trust. I did not 'hear' the verse again. My 6 yr old and I went to Mass that evening. It was dark when we left church. We chatted with some people outside by their vehicle and as they left we walked back to our car where we were approached by two men who said they had a gun and that I best give them my purse or they would shoot me than shoot my "kid". I gave them my purse and my keys as they demanded and after they ran off my child and I ran back to the convent where the Sisters aided us in getting the police. God's grace was indeed sufficient. Though I do not know why He allowed that to happen, I trusted that He was in control and the knowledge of that helped me through all that followed as a result of the choices of those two men. Things would have been completely different if God had not spoken to my heart or if I had been too closed hearted yo hear Him.

I came from Ireland to the USA in 1994 and was held up at gunpoint and told leave your country or your family and you will be killed. So please never carry a purse again. You only need a couple of cards, cash and your car keys whuch you keep in a sealabke insde pocket. When going to the car you hold your keys in your hand in such a way to poke someones eyes out. If it already dark? Ask for an escort to reach your car safely. Especially with young ones. Then have them get in with you and bring them back to the building. LOCK YOUR DOORS. Start your journey home. Pepper spray is no good. If the wind is the wrong way? You put yourself out of commission. It can be taken out of your hand and used against you. Same with a gun. Wear sensible shoes so you can run if need be. Keep an alarm button on you so you don't need to say a word but set off the sound and direct line to the police station for them to come to you. Use holy water, pray to your guardian angel and st Micheal the Arc Angel daily and especially leaving and going home. Sorry that happened to you. May God bless you always.

Father Lampert's headphones are so cute because he's genuinely old school! I LOVE this man!! He makes me want to convert, or at least learn more about Catholicism in general. I was raised Protestant in my household of a single mom, my mom worked 12hr shifts as a laborer in a paper mill, and Zion Lutheran had a great Sunday School program and was only half a block away! And (altho my dad's side is the classic case of Polish Catholicism, and I squirmed in church as little girl) I've been fascinated upon becoming an adult, by the importance of ritual in Catholicism and have wanted to start the serious, long process of becoming Catholic, but it's never happened--- my daily issues with ADD have translated to "spiritual attention deficit disorder." Whenever I've been close to approaching a church / priest, my live was up-ended and then I didn't follow up when I moved elsewhere. I love Father Lampert because he says things like "the Catholic Church doesn't have a monopoly on having a close relationship with God." Great man, he's using love and understanding to gain more members of God's flock.

I have seen a couple of father Lambert’s interviews and this has been by far one of the most holistic ones. Listening to the both of you touch on the dangers of the occult, new age practices and divination etcétera is very eye opening. I have participated in all of the latter, but thanks to the Lord renounced it all about 3.5 years ago. But about two weeks after I threw out all of my “new age” stuff and reconciled “spirituality “ with Jesus the evil one began to torture me not only spiritually but physically. I had a couple of episodes of sleep paralysis, just as described by father Lambert. It felt as if the evil one was not ready to give up on my soul but Jesus was not allowing him to have it either. It was traumatic, what I now understand was spiritual warfare wore my spirit out. But God’s mercy and grace saved me and my family. Since then I have reconciled with my catholic religion but clinging to my faith tightly to face the remnants of my new age/occult practices. Thank you father Lambert! God bless you both. ❤

Am sorry for this pain you and your daughter are facing, was the criminal arrested and thrown in prison? I hope both of you are going for counselling. May God be everything you both need.
