He did a crime he should have to do some time he should not be able to get away with just writing the check and calling it good what kind of messages is that sending to people it wouldn’t be so bad if he would’ve just stayed there waiting for waiting for the Dallas police to come and get him When the accident happened no he ran like a scared boy and then days later he wants to take responsibility for his actions yeah he’s a damn good player for the Chiefs but I don’t care he should be suspended and he should have to do some time plus pay fine

He doesn't have to do any time. It was an accident with the injuries there was no criminal intent. We all know how come he's staying away from piss cups. If he throws a million dollars at me he can hit my car too, I encourage it! But he don't have to do time over an accident even if it's negligent! he just has to come to terms with the victims and if they agree to the terms that's that keep your nose out of it.

No Failure to Render Aide felony charge (basically the charge for a Hit & Run causing injury) or DUI charges.... The charges he got should be easier to plea down. His attorney is not only a Texas State Senator but hes over District 23 ..... where Dallas is. He use to be a DA & was voted 1 of the 25 Most Powerful People in Texas Politics in '05 along with being included among the Ten Best Legislators in Texas in '99. Im sure he was in contact with the DA getting these charges. May already have a plea worked out also. They put out a warrant (when normally if ur counsel is in contact with the police they wont) & gave him 8 charges because its such a public incident they wanna make it LOOK like they are throwing a lot at him. I’m good with everything that you just said AS LONG as Rice pays restitution to the victims for not only physical injuries but also mental injuries and emotional injuries ALONE WITH paying for everyone’s vehicles and doctor and hospital bills! I KNOW THAT SOUNDS LIKE A LOT BUT think about everyone involved that were minding their own business and BAM! Rice and his friends cause a 6 or seven vehicle pile up, injuring several of those people. Everyone of those people deserves to be paid for pain and suffering on top of getting new vehicles and doctor and hospital bills paid. This should be costly enough for Rice to think twice or think ten times before ever letting himself get involved with anything like this again!

As I said on another forum ... this looks like the usual prosecutorial over charging in anticipation of a plea deal. I doubt all of these charges will be involved in the final plea. My guess is, a felony will stand, and most of the other charges will be pled down to misdemeanors or dismissed. Frankly, for Rice's future with the Chiefs, the playbook issue is a bigger deal.

Extremely likely. The assault and serious injury charges are just there to entice him to take a plea deal. Neither of those would make it to the actual trial - the prosecutor does not want to waste time on a trial and Rice has a real good lawyer, so the most likely result is the prosecutor just wants an easy guilty felony plea since he's a first time offender and he ends up with community service/probation....30 days max jail if they want cuz of the publicity.

Probably get some form of probation (maybe classes or a short 1 month house arrest at worst). He also built up a lotta good credit with everyone in the Chiefs organization all season..... all they did was rave about his character. Plus they are an extremely intelligent organization..... Once Rice was given consistently around 70+% snaps consistently in wk 12 on he was instantly a top 5-8ish WR his next 7 games..... I don't see them letting THAT kinda talent that's on a cheap 2nd rd rookie contract go over this. Just don't see it. Possible penalties for Rice's actions by authorities may include: 1. At least a 1-year driver's license suspension, 2. Jail time for his breaking of the laws in Texas (30 days minimum), 3. After his license suspension, he will be required to study for, retake, and pass his driver's license exam again, 4. Also, after his license suspension, he will not be allowed to lease, rent, or own any high-speed vehicles for two years, 5. Payment for all vehicle damages, as well as any bodily damages sustained by the other drivers, that are not covered by auto insurance, 6. Receive up to 6 games of suspension for the upcoming football season by the NFL, and his football salary would be suspended as well. 7. During his suspended time off, he would be required to meet with and personally visit those other drivers who were harmed during the accident and apologize to them in person. Rice is 23 years old, and yep, acts like just about any 23 year old that has access to a Corvette and a Lambo at the same time would, and even the fleeing the scene of the crime isn't completely out of character for someone that young. He's young, hasn't gained a lot of wisdom from life yet, and made a handful of bad mistakes that all kind of cashed their reality checks at the same time. It doesn't excuse what he did, and he was incredibly lucky that the worst damage done is a few minor injuries. He'll still have to make whatever amends the court system sticks him with, and he is showing some signs of responsibility by turning himself in. The best he can hope for is to get an incredibly merciful judge that will take that into account when sentencing him.

I think people are getting tired of seeing sports figures and celebrities acting like laws don't apply to them and getting light sentences with no suspensions because of their celebrity status. Most people want equality under the law which means their sentences should be the same as any average person. Really, Rice can be replaced. As a Chiefs fan, I can say this. Reminds me of the Kareem Hunt incident. As a Chiefs fan, I wanted Hunt on my team. As a father of a daughter that was near the age of the girl he assaulted, I don't want him to even be in the NFL, he should have been in jail for at least 6 months to a year if he had been treated like most people. He fled the scene which shows a greater disregard at the time because as a wealthy individual he could afford an expensive loaded weapon then stupidly use it to put people in harms way, then flippantly run. We as Chief's fans should take a measured approach with no justice or mercy extremes. He needs to pay millions in restitution to the damaged families as they heal, take his sentence, the NFL will respond accordingly and if he is wise he will drop his "friends" like a ton of bricks. Any normal person is going to prison for at least a year. That doesn’t mean Rashee will - he’s definitely not a normal person. But if Rashee stays out of prison (and as a Chiefs fan, I hope he does), know that it will have only been because he’s weather than you and I.

Prosecutors add charges like the aggrevated assault and the serious bodily harm charges, not because they feel they can prove it in court but as a tool to get what they consider a better plea deal. There is 0 chance the prosecutor wants to waste time taking any of those charges to trial for a first time offender, especially not the aggrevated assault and serious injury. They simpmy want a guilty plea to any felony, even the lesser ones count. With the lawyer Rice has, very likely he pleds guilty to the 6 counts, and gets sever fines community service and probation. They may throw in 30 days in jail due to the publicity behind, but it wont be any more than that.

I was thinking the same thing, but I didn't know racing in Texas was a felony. I'm pretty sure everyone basically says it was a classy misdemeanor Not felonies, so I'm assuming that they either upgraded to a felony. Or there's some very you know, weird situation where they can upgrade to a phony. I'm assuming that his lawyers gonna work his a** off to get those to misdemeanors. Because I'm thinking that she really can't prove the outer big a battery unless you proved that the car was it, then every record have that charge? You can't prove the series bodily injury because well, the victim only has a cut and you can get a cut with a few punches to the face, but those are all misdemeanors. The lawyer could argue. He's a first time offender, so it's gonna be even harder for a jury to convict. A young 23-year-old black male in a heavily blue district. It's just weird because the DA is also a Democrat elected. He should know this so I'm assuming this is all for show. Because he probably is getting a lot of heat, especially from the Republican governor.

Very large laceration to the eyeball requiring multiple stitches, safe to assume there is permanent damage from that, yeah, that is SBI. Dallas loves to prosecute too, Rashee is done. I would be very surprised that two charges carrying a minimum of two years get thrown out over a couple of 10k checks.

Everyone is freaking out. These kinds of cases usually end up with some kind of plea deal that resembles nothing like what the defendant was charged with. I would venture to guess that the prosecutors really want to make sure everyone involved is made whole monetarily. As long as he pays for all the damages he'll probably get some kind of diversion and or probation

I wonder if a good lawyer can plea the speeding cases and or possibly racing case off. No speedometer and video from random person doesn't show what speed they actually are driving. Movement could of been avoiding something unseen. Confusion about who was leading and only maneuver around the other. Not realizing the power etc. hit and run is hardest one to dodge

Be honest with management! That's their home. K.C. is not home to the Hunt family. It's the 2nd home and still very special. Wait until it goes through the court process and get the verdict. Handle business accordingly, this could have been worse. If he learns and grows he's no different than any other man. Except he's a baller. That's his job. So far, so good. Kareem Hunt balled out too and he was fired. In both cases I'm not judging either man. There is a protocol you follow, if you want to play here.
