The TRUTH about Pre-emergent. What THEY DONT WNAT YOU TO KNOW.

Am I crazy to be telling people to stop applying pre-emergent on their lawns? Well the reality is, I'm not telling people to do that. I'm saying that certain people probably don't need to do it. In this video I'm going to explore multiple different pre-emergent options as people have done many times in the past. As we come in the spring time this becomes a very popular topic, and some people need reminding every year. I'm hoping that the people who watch my channel have pretty much got this dialed in.
Now, if you have stories about how you have not applied to Pre emergent and how it's gone poorly for you in the past or how you've had great success, why don't you let everybody know down in the comments below. You'll notice, I'm not asking anybody to subscribe or to make any comments to my videos anymore. You are all grown ass people and you can figure out how and when that's appropriate.
Pre-emergent is a wonderful crab grass preventer, you're pretty much still guaranteed to have some weeds as not everything can be controlled. However, doing an application will potentially save you some time in some money later on in the season. As for me, I'm going to continue on my 25+ year trend of not applying any pre-emergent to any lawn that I have ever owned.

My lawn has gotten super thick over the past 2 years and for me, it's a waste to spray the entire 2 acres since no weeds can ever get through the grass. The 5lb of prodiamine I have will probably last the ext 10 years. But I do apply it early spring and late summer to the flower beds, areas under pine trees and along the property lines, and driveway edges to keep down crabgrass and Japanese stilt grass. It's really good stuff but to just use it all over, all the time is a waste. Know your property and your problem areas and treat accordingly.

@Lawncology just something to think about; short-term vs. long-term gains. You got a view now bc I thought I needed STOP applying preemergent. @@seapanther53 excellent. Did you watch and learn? If you did watch, you’d know that I talked about what to consider rather than saying flat out, “it’s time to apply pre emergent everyone!” And if you in fact we’re hoping to not apply pre emergent by watching the vid, you could consider if you need it or not. Further, 6 different ore emergent options were talked through with benefits included. Now, the proper eye catch was all that was needed for truly long term gains. More new viewers are finding the content and that’s the point. I am going to be showing so many ways to save time and get rid of the “have to’s” that plague lawn care content. Further, this video is seeing people stay on for a long time. The retention is massive. This means the message does in fact match the title. I wish I was good at clickbait titles, I’m just not.

I like organic and don't mind digging up a few weeds, but I do have weeds and they piss me off. I have a life other than lawn dedication and do not judge those that love this work and it shows. From all the information out there, it seems that pre-emergent is good in the spring, but you better get the timing right. I don;t like that option, is there something else. I cut my grass once a week and water if needed. I like Melorganite or something similar to apply on the dates indicated on packaging. I will seed in the fall. Can that be an option. Respectfully.
