The TRUTH About My Childhood - Story Time

Ойындар

Lots of people have asked for this video over the past 10 years. I've wanted to make it, as well. But I've tried and tried and never was able to get it done. I finally sat down today determined to film it and here it is. I talk about my childhood and some of the awful things I went through. I talked about my mom and what it was like to live with her. I show you a few good examples of the abuse I was dealing with.

    Ultimate Russianman my mom was horrible like this for a while. Until she found the power of god she became one of the most caring people in my life. Before she would threaten to turn on the stove and put my ear on it and burn it. Or she would threaten to leave me on the side of the road and not comeback. But i just found out a day or two ago, it was before i could remember she caused so much damage to my dads house brought random people over to destroy it. Finally they got a divorce but she made him get two jobs so he could afford the child support but one day he went over and knocked on the door and my little sister said she would get the door but my mom told her not too. And he got her to cancel the child support. I moved with him and now we have a great house and everything i could have asked for and my mom is living a better life, side note we didnt have much at my moms. Ever since she found god and got a better mental state she has been getting a better income and having more things for my sisters. And thats why i thank my mom, my father, and god.

    I think what's most triumphant and inspiring is how you have broken the cycle of what seemed to be a generational pattern of abuse. Mental disorders and all, the choices you have made post-childhood have set into motion a new age of understanding and empathy for your future family. And, of course, the friends you've made and will continue to make. You are a treasure to all, and an apt example of the true measure of a man. Peace to you, brother ♥ Keep liking you.

    Eh, sorry, but what cycle did he break? Sounds like he lost to the cycle, and the cycle broke him. Pretty sure he doesn't have any generations he's raised in a non abusive household. If he had kids, maybe he would destroy and ruin them? I doubt it, but in his mind he feels that way. Sounds like he was defeated by the abuse.

    Taking into account everything your mom has done to you, I doubt anyone would blame you for pissing on her grave. Hell, with all due respect and as cruel as it sounds, if that was me I'd probably throw a celebration. What's really incredible to me is, you chose not to do any of those things. On her dying bed, you decided you were going to love yourself and forgive her. It's irrelevant whether you believed your words or not -- you CHOSE to show love to someone who hatefully abused you mentally and physically. That takes strength and it's strength I'm working towards now. You continue to be an inspiration to me, Boogie. Thank you for sharing this story.

It's so painful seeing people act like what their parents do is the bare minimum and they want more. I have no doubt your parents have flaws, but they're doing their best. I just got away from home and enlisted in the service where I had many bad thoughts and couldn't bare what I was going through. I owned many forms of firearms and was gonna make the ultimate mistake. I saw your video and the words you said truly put my mind at ease and allowed me to contemplate things the way they should without the PTSD/Anxiety weighing me down. Today, I'm still in the service and just bought an nice house. I'm very happy and have many friends. I've lost many including my mother to an unfortunate accident but I've learned to be strong and carry on, I even dedicate most weeks to charity's which I learned to love. Just wanted to say thank you Boogie as I am one more person that wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for you and so glad you still create these types of videos as they truly do help those out there.

Although you much deserve a happier childhood but accepting things that had happened in the past which you didn’t have much control over, you have developed courage and sense of self through this journey. Your stories have touched many others and have shown them on how to forgive their love ones that have hurt them in the past.

    Forgiveness isn't for the other person, it's for you. If you don't forgive, you carry that with you. The other person isn't affected by your lack of forgiveness, other than they can't control you anymore. I had a lesser experience than Boogie did, but at 24 I finally forgave my parents and I have felt so much lighter since then. They don't know I forgave them because it was for me and myself only. I occasionally speak to them and I willingly spend time with them during the holidays when the rest of our extended family is there because they can't make me feel bad and my extended family is incredible. But yeah, rambling. Forgiveness is for your own mental health.

  • @hawkstrike18

    @hawkstrike18

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@julknowl thanks for the common sense, really! Hopefully most ppl can truly understand what you said. Too bad some of us can't forgive & mend ourselves 100% though... Because, in the end, I guess that's what you have to do to be able to forgive others. Personally, I'm unhappy just because I am a human😑 not sure if there's any hope for me, even if I never went through something especially bad/extreme (I always try to learn through others' mistakes and experiences anyway, doesn't have to happen to me - though that would make matters more difficult, obviously). My own parents helped me see how much better I am than them, in that I'm not as petty or immature, but also how powerless in front of their ego. As much as I despise cynicism and nihilism, their (and almost everyone else's) selfishness, stubbornness, short-sightedness, etc. have made me slightly -well, I control it- cynical myself... I can hardly trust humans in general (but that's a lesson to be learned anyway, humans suck, generally speaking). It's funny in what ways your parents shape you and how they can make you feel guilty of certain things even when you know you aren't guilty and it's their fault. Perhaps that's why I can't forgive them completely. In conjunction with the fact that I still live with one of them, lol - how can you move on when situation stays more or less the same? But, I'll have to be more thorough than this and see a therapist about it😅 Either way, I *love* this kind of videos, about psychology, depression, traumas, etc., and the comments you can find under them! I used to chat a lot about such matters, so it's kinda nostalgic as well to me, not just therapeutic.

    Stories like this make me think of how ridiculous I used to be as a kid to get sad and mad over my parents turning off my computer if I haven't finished my homework when some children go through hell and get abused... It's incredible how many things we take for granted being raised in a healthy loving family. Stay strong sir and may the past be past and the future be bright.

    I know a lot of people would be like "I would have stood up" and shit. But we didn't grow up being abused, we are "normal." When he and many other people were growing up, they were different because of this abuse. Standing up to someone is impossible at times, and as he said he only did it by accident from reflex, realizing he actually COULD do something.

    You say you would stand up to her and it's easy to think I would do the same. However, when you put yourself in those shoes it's entirely different because you would have grown up differently and your brain would have developed differently. Yes I agree monsters like that should be taken away but it was also a different time. Nowadays if you went to most school all bruised and fucked up they would immediately know something is wrong and do something about it. So yeah it's easy to say you would just put that monster down, but you really can't know what you would do if the shoe was on the other foot. I'm just glad to see Boogie has broken that cycle of abuse and doesn't let it define the person he is today.

    Great example of never judging someone for ANYTHING. You have no idea what kind of experiences they’ve had to endure. You have no idea what’s shaped them into the person we see. You’re the man, Boogie.
