My favorite nighttime moisturizers... Naturium's Ceramide and the Peptide moisturizer. My skin's texture feels so good the next morning. 😊

What product do you recommend for dry skin? Dehydrated skin? Both dry and dehydrated skin?
Every moisturizer breaks me out! I’m tired. I’ve been using a tiny bit of cerave healing ointment until I can find somewhere
Adore her ❤
Hi doctor, I was just wondering how many years of college did you need to become a dermatologist 💗
Thank you! There are plenty of body lotions that are more moisturizing than Eucerin or CeraVe etc but derms always seem to recommend these. Palmers, Jergens, Vaseline all make great products.

Because those brands have enough money to have representatives and conventions that introduce their products to Dermatologist and if Dermatologists find they work good then they will recommend it. We can't expect all our Dermatologists to spend their time looking for new brands and new trends. Yes there are so many brands and many are good but no practicing Dr has time to check all those other brands plus the new brands which are created every week.

@@heredianna2496 That's true, but those brands aren't new. I was speaking to the fact that derms usually recommend creams and ointments instead of lotions for extremely dry skin (because they're "heavier") but scientifically its abt the formula not the consistency. A properly formulated lotion can be better than a cream.

@Kellie W. I agree but as I said skincare products that Dermatologist recommend are the ones that have been recommended by certain brands. It does not matter if the brands are new or not. Some brands choose to "target" Dermatologists in convention and with representatives and gifts... and if those products work those Dermatologists will recommend them and not lose time looking elsewere. So if the ointment given to them work for their patients they won't check if the lotion work as well... Let's be honest outside of social media most Derms do not recommend skincare and do not focus on skincare ingredients list. They focus more on medecine medications, lasers.... There is a Dermatologist who made a video on KZread that would explain what I try to explain here better. The title of his video is "why I quit skincare videos". His video is very interesting to watch in my opinion.
I have oily skin but do not always moisturize. Depending on the season temperature and humidity... my skin sometimes really does NOT need any moisturize and is 100% fine and healthy and my Dermatologist is fine with that.
Forget what you talking about why you so beautiful ❤️🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️😂jk

How do you know if your skin is dry or dehydrated?
@Jeanneeee123
11 ай бұрын
To test your skin type, wash your face and don’t put anything on it afterwards. See if it feels dry, itchy or tight. If yes then you have a dry skin type.

Your face doesn't get oily over the course of the day, my skin starts producing oil in my tzone within an hour.
Can you explain the difference between hydration and moisturizing and how one can go about doing both?
@jbell6852

Hydration is internal whereas moisturizing is external. Drink plenty of water for hydrated skin. Lock moisture in your skin by moisturizing. Both equally important to having our skin stay healthy.
@Dr. Alexis Stephens Thank you for the information. You are such a blessing to us. I use all the Cerave products....foaming facial cleanser, resurfacing retinol serum, and hydrating hyaluronic acid serum. What sunscreen would you recommend for my oily skin? I am trying to follow your recommendations, but I HATE the feeling of having a thick layer of something on my face, and there is usually a cast after applying. My face just feels so yucky and looks extra oily whenever I apply sunscreen. 😫😖

Most face sunscreens will be light. You can buy an oil absorbing face moisturizer with spf. Cetaphil makes one with no cast.

Murad (Chemical) SPFs are light. For oily skin go for the Oil and Pore Control Mattifier sunscreen (blue label).
