OK ultraviolence got a lot of hate for her "romanticizing abuse" but i totally disagree, a victim should b able to express their trauma any way they need to, and I think she portrayed the cycle of abuse and toxic relationships perfectly which made these songs resonate with so many other victims :(.

Thank you. I was actually in an abusive relationship when this album came out (and I was the other woman on top of it) and this album was SO important to me because I felt seen. Like finally someone singing exactly how I'm feeling. Completely in love with and devoted to a man who was hurting me. It made me feel like I wasn't alone. People like to think that abuse victims are all terrified of their abusers and desperate to get out the second they have the opportunity, but I was deeply in love with him and made excuse after excuse and romanticized the situation I was in and I think that's the reality for a lot of women in similar situations. Lana is the only artist I've ever found that actually shows the reality of a relationship where you are emotionally and mentally bonded with someone who is hurting you and causing you pain.

Also there’s a deluxe version of ultraviolence that has 5 songs technically Spotify has 3 of them Apple Music has the 4 ( is this happiness) and one song that is only released in Japan called “flipside”

Okay you gotta do Paradise EP before you move on to Honeymoon. Ride is such a good song and the video is wild. Also, Tropico the short film is perfection.

On the deluxe version on Ultraviolence there 3 more tracks which are Black Beauty, Guns and Roses, and Florida Kilos (my fav) and there are also 2 more tracks called Is This Happiness and Flipside but it’s only released in Japan

Dude, you gotta check out the EP Paradise (including the music videos) and the short film Tropico. And also, Burning Desire, and Young and Beautiful. It's kind of a transition from Born To Die to Ultraviolence.

Ultraviolence is in my holy trinity of her albums along with NFR and Ocean Blvd!

There’s a big theory that the older guy from Shades of Cool and West Coast is the same guy from Born To Die, Blue Jeans, and West Coast. Lana died in the Born To Die video and still haunts him throughout his life. I love this, cuz Lana’s presence feels very mesmerising. It makes sense.

I'm not usually one who fangirls over an artist, however I'm not embarrassed to say how supportive i am of Lana and everything she's ever done. I wouldn't have traveled over 5 hours to her Pittsburgh show last October 3rd for anyone else. A lot of people gave her shit in 2020 for ultraviolence because it’s was “romanticizing” abuse but no in the song it’s pretty easy to understand and the meaning is easy it’s just her experience dating an actual cult leader in New York and it’s her experience in the lyrics she dated someone who was a cult leader so he use to do things to her and she thought it was love but no it was toxic and yeah she left him.

@@LouMurk yes 2020 and 2021 was her cancelled era because of the “ride” music video from born to die paradise edition and ultraviolence and “burning bibles” she didn’t do that plus she references god and Jesus a lot and also the infamous “ question for the culture” instagram post and her wearing a mesh mask during a book signing for her poet book but it had a plastic covering underneath the mesh. So that’s why chemtrails over the country club is very underrated and also blue banister since people really didn’t like Lana but at the same time she blew up and gained a bunch of followers like she went from 19 million monthly listeners in 2019 to almost 60 million in 2024.

He was meant to be the backing vocals that you hear at the end of Brooklyn Baby. It was never to be .. so sad .. and crazy ! What a story ..
