Appreciate your honest, balanced commentary. I got into Evercade last year with a SuPo and then got a VS. So far I'm enjoying the games and plan to get more carts moving forward.

I love the concept of Evercade, but I agree that the quality of their products is all over the place. I understand that Blaze is basically a startup, but they had like four to five years to mature. As for Alpha - I would buy it if it was larger. The idea of Evercade powered cabinet is intriquing.

Interesting video. I support Evercade but almost from day 1 wished they did a little more, offered their stuff a little cheaper or made their products with a little more quality and care. It's nice to have licensed stuff but I just always hoped for more. I've been an advocate for Antstream Arcade thinking that was the answer but it's definitely not. Like Evercade, they're fine and offer some good stuff but it always feels like they're biting off more than they can chew and promising things they can't deliver. Maybe there's just not real money to be made in retro stuff hence Nintendo doesn't bother with more mini consoles and companies like Atari and Sega were content to let AT Games sell their stuff as discount consoles for years.

Great video as always and nice retrospective and "where we're at" video with the Evercade. I made a decision not to update my OG VS console anymore as it suits my needs "as is" and I don't really want the library feature on it. I'm getting a bit cheesed off with the recent trend by Blaze of locking games to hardware. I really don't need two Alpha Bartops or four Super Pockets just to get all the games. I'm a simple man who just wants quality carts released at regular intervals for around the £20 GBP price point :-) Keep up the awesome work!

Nothing brings back nostalgia like Christmas time! i was in the mood for some Space Invaders & for whatever reason my collection was missing this Retro Game. Looked up Taito games & The Taito Super Pocket by EverCade was out for purchase! i then started to read up on EverCade & agree with everything you had to say in this video. Don't get me wrong i love my EverCade but i can see it is not for everyone. They had me with Arcade Games on the Go, but with that said there is a lot they pump out that are not worthy Retro Games. So purchase smart!

Of the three pieces of hardware I've purchased from Evercade, two were broken (the VS was returned for a refund, the EXP = replacement in the mail) and one was just plain terrible (the Super Pocket). I'm still a customer: I'm still giving them my money, despite all the hardware and software flaws. ;-)

@@VEGANVANIA, that’s definitely a problem. I’ve mentioned their poor quality control team, or lack of, in quite a few of my videos. The hardcore fanboys get butthurt, but why should the rest of us be quiet if we are spending our money on their products? We deserve quality, especially if they themselves (Blaze) claim that they sell quality products. I still support Blaze and have been fortunate that I’ve had no issues with anything I’ve purchased. However, I see lots of people like yourself that have received duds from them. This shouldn’t happen as often as it does. Hopefully they reimbursed you with no issues.

Man, I absolutely love the Evercade, the idea behind it is just awesome but it's far from perfect. I hear you about Glover, and honestly, unless it's a side scrolling platformer like Mischief Makers, or one of the space ship shooters, the controls are going to absolutely suck for any N64 port that they put out on the Evercade. I really don't have much interest at all in playing most N64 titles with a d-pad. Overall though, I've really gotten some serious enjoyment out of the Evercade console. I keep wanting to support them, because their products and ideas are awesome, and have always been just a hair away from absolute greatness. I have a lot of hope, and a good feeling that they're going to release something one of these days, that is going to absolutely blow everyone's socks off. Fingers crossed. 🤞 Game on brother!!🤘

Great video Game Freak! I've been with Evercade almost since the start. A good number of times I have been fucked off and not touched the thing for like 3 months at a time. Issues with games mostly, waiting for them to be fixed ect... There is a lot to hate as there is to like with Evercade so I keep coming back lol. For me Tomb Raider doesn't bring anything new to the table and was the most obvious choice to make a quick buck! But then they come along with Toaplan 3 and come good again lol. It's been a rollercoaster of a ride for sure. Hopefully mistakes from xmas24 were enough to kick them up the backside and maybe why things have slowed down this year... It's still Game On. I look forward to more of your vids and hearing what you have to say but don't burn your self out doing it! As long as it's fun that's cool, but if it starts being a drag just ignore us. Great job with the early success on your channel. I got through most of the video, but one thing that I would offer as some friendly constructive criticism is it takes you a while to get to the point and you speak slowly, which can be a bit distracting because I'm eager to hear the next thing you have to say but I feel like it's a slog at times. Good video though, just giving you some unsolicited advice LOL.

@@SeveredLegs, thanks!!! I’m always open to advice and constructive criticism. Hell, I’m even open to just criticism lol. I think the reason this video was so slow is because it was unscripted. It was just an “out of the blue” last second video. Though a majority of my videos are unscripted, I usually have a general idea of what I want to say. This one however, I didn’t even know how I was going to start when I hit record. I just kinda went with whatever I was feeling and thinking at the time. I usually don’t make videos like this lol. In general I agree with you. I also think that Evercade puts too many Piko and Home computer carts on the market, and far too few Arcade carts. I think it's great that Evercade has an eye for the Indie market. But here too I think there is too much quantity instead of quality. I would much rather see games with the quality of Full Void and Xeno Crisis than the games on the Indie heroes carts. Of course there are also exceptions such as Tanzer and Donut Dodo. But most of the games on those carts aren't worth my time.

Appreciate you giving an honest overview. I got a Super Pocket Capcom for Christmas and have grabbed 3 carts since. It is a lot of fun for a bit of retro gaming on the go and I have definitely had my money's worth. Tempted to grab a VS-R to hook up to my TV at some point, but really not interested in collecting loads of hardware. I appreciate there are people who do want to collect everything though, so it is cool that they are putting it out. Definitely more interested in new carts, but still have a number of existing ones that are of interest to catch up on.
