The TRUTH about drug store shampoo and conditioner…what’s GOOD?! (U.K. shop up with hairstylist)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

#hair #hairstylist #shampoo #healthyhair #shopping
So what's GOOD in the drug store when it comes to shampoo and conditioner for your hair type...and what ingredients are used in those supermarket haircare formulas?
This is the first in (hopefully) a new series that will help you work out what is right for you and help you pick out hair products that work to keep your hair looking its best.
Just to clarify - I recommend professional haircare lines almost every day that I'm in salon with clients but they simply aren't accesable or affordable for everbody, which is why I've started this new series.
And the reallity is that there's room for ALL the products, they're just different, thats all.
It's not just consumers who will get "take aways" from the video - if you're a hair professional there are a few TOP tips in there you YOU!
Would you like to see that hair styling product video? How about a Space NK, (U.K. Sephora type stores) "high end" hair care shop up?
Please let me know in the comments below and if you have any product related questions I'm happy to help, I'm a hair care NERD....remember, I reply to EVERYONE.

Philip Kingsley overview video - • Flakey, itchy scalp? D...
That's it for this week, a HUGE thanks for watching, I'll see you in the next one,

Omg, I just found your channel and love it. I love all the ingredients & chemical talk, it's so interesting! I went down the rabbit hole several months ago trying to learn hair care ingredients (esp with what's okay and not okay to mix) in effort to simplify my routine a little, but I just ended up disoriented. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I find your insight fun and easy to listen to. "Caffeine is not going to make your hair grow. It's just not."😂

So glad you mentioned caffeine. Imo nothing 'makes' hair grow. It just sets the scene for optimum conditions for hair to thrive Now back to caffeine ..... I don't think it does, from my experience. I thought it does. But I am now convinced it doesn't. I am battling extremely dry hair as a result of coffee rinses. Tea rinses actually work better.

Nexus! I used to use this all the time back in the day. It was so good. I used Assure shampoo (which sadly I can't find now) and Therapy when my hair was more in need (I had tons of fine wavy hair). Then the Humectress..fantastic! In fact, I need new shampoo and I am going to hunt this down! I am in the US. I wish I had a Boots right here. Our drug stores are falling apart here. One has to go to Ulta or Amazon or salons..c'est la vie. Thanks for this!

I have used all the hair foods but I always come back to the banana as it seems to offer the best moisture for curly hair , I love that it can be heated up for a deep conditioning mask as well as being used for general conditioning after wash the hair, I also use a pea size amount on my hair as a leave in before my curly products. When the hair is dry it feels really soft and springy without feel weigh down. Also the tubs are quite handy for storing hair pins ECT when empty. 😉

Wow Craig… what a wonderful change of studio for you😜🙌 I loved it and just amazed you didn’t have a queue snaking around the store for your wonderful advice 😝.. really interesting.. I have used Nexxus back in the day and loved it.. I always thought it was from the states but am I correct in thinking it said made in Italy on the back of bottle🤔 to be honest even wearing contact lenses over readers I still struggled to read the tiny “ micro” writing on most of the bottles and that was also zooming in 😳😬😂 so you must have peepers like binoculars 👀.. I have used Kristin Ess texture spray and was really nice but like you my addiction to hair products ect is slightly concerning 😬😂… I use White Hot Hair products for my own hair being salt and pepper / grey😆 there shampoo bar is a dream and just last FOREVER 😳… there concept isn’t brilliant for us hairdressers though 🙄😳 but is a lovely range I use there hair oil on my beard and it’s mirror like shine is the envy of all the grizzly bears😉😂… you looked fabulous Craig even with all those completion draining lights😍 this was wonderful and I’d love to see a product review also 🙌 thanks a ton Craig 😘X

Loved this and I must look out for Nexxus in my chemist...the ingredient check is so useful. Please do a styling product one too. I know K18 is wonderful but for those of us that cannot get the spray and find the conditioner difficult to get, are there detox / 'hardwater suffering hair' options in the chemist that were worthy of a favourable mention? Or even avoid like the plague options. Apologies if I have missed the video on that.

So I’ve never really looked for clarifying shampoos in the chemist/supermarket…but I will now, thanks for the thought. Hi Deandra, thanks for watching. I think UV protecting formulas are great and a good idea - they work in 2 ways… 1 - To physically block out the sun - thick hair masques/gel etc. Meaning that you could use any product of that sort in a thick layer. 2 - An ingredient that protects - such as K18 Repair Oil and the new Damage Shield conditioner or some of the leave in sprays from Pureology.
