I’m a norwegian millenial and have invested ~50% in precious metals, and I know no one in my age who owns ANY gold. I listened to you 4 years ago and got educated in real economics (and I am an economist from before), and this lead me down the path of PMs and even moving to a cheap area where real estate with land etc was in deflation due to lack of demand. In this way we eliminated all debt and sleep great at night with fjords and mountain views during the day😊 Most poeple I know have EVERYTHING, in their house with max mortgages 80-85% and are getting swallowed by interest rates that have gone from 2.5- 6+% in two years! With inflation and almost 30% loss in our local currency vs the euro and usd, people are suddenly a lot poorer and norwegians who thought they were rich, come to a slow realization it was an illusion (masked by cheap to free debt)…

Costco’s biz model is razor thin margins. Their profit is in the membership fees. I think it’s great that they’re selling gold bars - so much to like here. Limited purchases because they sell out instantly. This exposes the average person to gold at an excellent price and is a good way to get started owning gold. You should probably educate yourself about Costco - they are in the biz of making their customers very happy. Not everyone wants or needs to pay storage costs or mess with an IRA to own a few ounces of gold.

I love that Mike has taught me so much about this subject over the last 15 years or so. However, I'm not a fan of this video's tone and tactics. I understand Mike's a dealer but this is not a good look. Buying gold (more importantly silver, which Costco is selling too) should be the number one idea being drilled into people's heads. We all know that if it's not in your hand you don't own it. Client ownership, allocation, insurance, armed guard storage etc are only as good as the world's ability to remain stable. How do you think that's going to work out? My point is, buy it from whoever gives you the best price and situation for yourself. Store it with Mike, put it in a safe at home, a bank vault or put it under your mattress. But you better get some now because us old timers know that when people on the street (or Costco) are talking about it the momentum is headed for skyrocket trajectory. Thank you for the knowledge Mike but bashing Costco and promoting storage vaults while living off grid in P.R. when you know what's ahead is really kind of gross.

They all thought I was nuts when I started, but it put gold on their radar which is why they started to get some (if people see something gaining in value then it peaks their interest). I think that it is not something ordinary people know (outside of jewellery), whereas people are more familiar with the gains that have been made in stocks and real estate so gravitate towards them instead.

Hey Mike and Alan. You are right to doubt what you were reading about the percentage in that editorial. If you look up the word Include in Black's Law dictionary, it comes under the word INCLUSIO. "INCLUSIO UNIUS EST EXCLUSIO ALTERIUS. The inclusion of one is the exclusion of another. The certain designation of one person is an absolute exclusion of all others". So anything put in front of the word Include or Including, is excluded from what comes after. Therefore only 10% is invested by Millenials, and not 17%. This goes for any sentence you read that uses the word include. Hope this makes sense 😉 Thanks for all the research you share 😊

Costco doesn't make much on their gold and silver so it's more of a member service and/or a draw for new members. Limiting the amount makes sense in both of those cases. Costco buys their metal in bulk and then prices it based on what they paid for that lot. So if the spot changes it doesn't change the Costco price. It's certainly a different model than 99% of dealers but it is a logical model for a company like Costco.

Get a bank or credit card with a $5k or $10k or $30k line of credit and NO APR for one year and thenuse that to buy as much silver and gold. Make as much in monthly payments ($300 to $2,000) as you can untill about 3-6 months before the 23% (or what ever it is) APR kicks in. By that time gold and silver should have gone up in value and if so then use all or some of your silver and gold to get a low interest hard asset loan, then use that to pay off your credit card. After you pay off your hard asset loan you now can get another low interest hard asset loan to buy more precious metals or maybe a down payment on a new home or use it to buy a new vehicle.

Not that many gold bugs will be able to rationalize with me, but if the everyday person is now buying gold regularly at a Costco it likely constitutes a good contrarian indicator to start liquidating some of your holdings. Remember the regular Joe is always the last to buy into an asset class at its peak. Oh and Mike, could you mention again how your business is offering better gold options then Costco, I think everyone really appreciates the shameless plugs 😂.

For what it's worth; I have a Costco membership and just looked online, and gold 'bars' aren't showing on the site, not for me. They do list Gold Eagles and Buffalos, both priced at $2,469.99 on Friday April 19, 2024 ~12:04 am. I'm not sure if it's maybe the area I live in, or what. Also, the items have/had a 4.7 (out) of 5 rating. I was curious as to why anyone would give *GOLD* a low rating, and I found one reviewer named Travis that gave only two stars. His comment title is - "Cheap Plastic Case - *BEWARE."* 😆 Travis' scheming coin seems to have "escaped" it's prison cell. *LOL* At least Travis does "recommend" the gold, as it is a "good buy." I'm sorry to post such a long comment here, but Travis' comment maybe wasn't as totally ridiculous as it sounds from the title alone, and I can understand his frustration on scratching his shiny new gold coin, but come on, no one should believe a cheap plastic case is any real protection for a beautiful, high-dollar coin. Not if you value it for its looks, and not if you're going to be passing it around, especially. I'm pretty sure the purchase was about a *GOLD* coin, not a piece of $0.50 plastic. In Travis' defense, here's his full review. _"I bought this coin and it was delivered as expected. I took the item over to my neighbors to show them. _(why people feel the need to showoff what they have, at least certain items, is beyond me - edit)_ The item comes in a plastic credit card sized capsule that has a plastic piece pressed into the back of the capsule to hold the coin in. I handed the item to my neighbor and they simply turned the capsule over to read the wording and the coin fell out. Needless to say that I am now the owner of a scratched gold coin. The entire episode was captured on my neighbors Ring camera. I contacted Costco to see about getting it replaced as the protective case on the coin was defective, allowing the coin to easily escape. No luck. All coins are “non-refundable”, regardless of the reason. Buyer beware! If you get this, please ensure your capsule is properly secured!!! I’m saying “yes” on recommend due to the coin being a good buy - even thought [sic] the case is bad."_

Maybe Costco buys Gold on the dips, and then sells it at that price plus a small premium for profit, regardless of the price of Gold in the markets. Kind of like gas at a gas station. If the price of gas the stations have to buy goes up, but the gas undergrounds was paid for at last weeks price. If Costco purchased enough before the sudden rise, they could keep making profits bellow SPOT until they run out and have to resupply.

I only ask those who want to get started to pay expenses and my time to teach them how to buy & where to buy. Most who have low debt with some saving's should invest @ least 50% of savings they do not need now. DO NOT INVEST IF YOU WILL NEED IT SOON. If you will not need the money then get at least 7.8% on average. I'm 73 and I wish I would have started 15 years ago. If anyone needs some help I'm here.

When I bought mine from Costco, i’m not certain it was the best price at the moment, but it was a very good price. The real kicker is that I will get 2% of the purchase back for having an executive membership, and I will get another 2% back from using the Costco credit card. (There was no additional fee for using a credit card.) So factoring that in, I got it for about $30 under spot.
