You are so kind to buy that poor lady's stuff. Just ignore hater's comments, you don't even know who they are. China, as a rising power in this World, we do have lots of enemies, these people just want every foreigner to hate China, ignore them is the best way to deal with them, because they are just harmless cowards seeking for sense of presence on internet. Love your videos btw.

You know internet. There are always some stupid people, like regional bigots, even thinking the city belongs to themselves. It happens to us Chinese too. Just a few days ago, a friend of mine in GuangZhou got discriminated by a local resident because she can't speak Cantonese. She has been in the city for 15 years and is a mother of two. Just ignore them and forget it.

Kaja, don't pay too much attention to those internet trolls. I live in America, and every time I posted something in a public forum, it's a guarantee that some racist Americans will start attacking me and scream "Go back to China!" but the fact that I am not from ?China and never been there lol. The hard facts are some of these trolls who told you to go back to your country might not be from China at all, they might be China-haters who want to bring some anger out of you, to entice you to write something bad in the future. Just enjoy your life in one of the most beautiful city (Shanghai!!) in the World. China is huge, wish you can go to other Chinese cities often.

We should be thankful to people like you from other nations truly appreciating Chinese culture and atmosphere, because according to my experience, many foreigners who never come to China consider China is a backward and autocratic nation with some feudal system, some Indians I met ever asked me "Does China sell opium now?". Really thank you for your candid and enjoyable opinion towards China.

Wow, it is really cool, the scenes in People's Square. Brought back some good memories. Plenty of interesting "long forgotten" snacks and tit-bits to snack, too. Next, how about some pictures of Old City God Temple of Shanghai, commonly known as Chenghuangmiao by locals, is located at Middle Fangbang Road, and adjoins Yuyuan Garden in the south ? Popular for their xiao long bao, too. When I was there, a few years ago, it was long queue. Meantime, thank you. And here is a tip I like to share. When eating fried dough fritters, (youtiao), try dipping it into a cup of hot coffee black. It may lead your taste buds to somewhere. I would laugh when foreigners just eat it by itself. Commonsense dictates when foreigners eat fast foods they also have a cup of tea or coffee, right? Cheers

I really like your vedio just like you said there are good guys and bad guys everywhere China is no difference. I can understand that you can't speak Chinese you will meet some trouble in China just like me as a oversee student living in Germany now.I can't speak German.I recommend you can make some Chinese friends.although I know a lot of people in China don't speak English or even try to speak English. This is also the most failed thing in Chinese education. And another reason is our culture, because almost Chinese people are so shy.Confidence is a permanent problem of Chinese. getting used to another culture is always difficult because you are different from the tourist in China.so do I.But I am very glad to see that you always have a positive altitude about living in China.that is right.I definitely know that if you want to get a better life do not focus some negative things about that country everything has both sides.all should our do are amplify the positive things. I also know in western countries there are always some bad guys talking about color .the recism. but just like I living in Germany. I think almost German don't have that view.just give us more time,it will be better and better!

I’m black in China too. So sorry to hear that. I haven’t had extreme racism to my face yet, just mild subtle occurrences. Guess I’m lucky hey. More power to you

I would ignore these evil uneducated people. As a British born Chinese, I get this type of comments in my face too. You are too good to lower yourself to their level. These wankers are everywhere where ever you go. Believe in yourself and enjoy what you are doing, you are on this world for yourself and you are living your life for yourself not for anyone else.. keep smiling and be awesome.

Of course most of the Chinese is friendly with all of the foreigners. Welcome to China .!

For open minded foreigners, living in China can be much fun and easier. Otherwise I guess you gonna get huge cultural shock here, and will get worse day after day unfortunately. Glad you work that out just fine, keep it up.

I am currently study abroad 3 years, already get used to different kinds of people, but before I came to US, I can say that in china if I met a white people or black people I probably will stare at them to, it's 99% nothing to do with any bad intentions like racism or anything, I am just curious most of time, and I know right now it's a bit of disrespectful, just like in US even such a diversity country, but still I met few times people call me Yaoming or Jack chan lol

Those type of negative comments that you get are probably a kind of push back against the Western media's negative bias against China. But that doesn't mean it is right and they should not discriminate against all foreigners in China, especially you, but some do deserve it. Any case ignore those people, they are either ignorant or trolls. Also it is interesting to note that the comments you made about living as a foreigner in China is very similar to the experiences Chinese immigrants in the West have had for generations, perpetual foreigner etc..

As a chinese living in western countries for many years, I have experienced so much racism towards my culture and my people. You should consider yourself lucky living in an expat friendly city like Shanghai. Not trying to escalate this to anything racial but you just have to suck it up like an adult. At the end of the day, living overseas is the choice we made.
