Right on my friend!! Greed of money is just like a drug.. jarad needs a meeting and to get honest with himself, until then ,he will never change, and time proves that ,a lot of time ,one day all of us must look into the eyes of the ultimate judge, I know I can keep my head up ,forgiveness of myself was the hardest ,its in 12 step meetings I learned this 34yrs later and still going strong, just for this one day ...

I was the asst. dive chief for an underwater recovery team for 20 years. We were part of Emergency Management attached to the Police dept. We had 138 members. We operated the team as a paramilitary team. Only one voice at operations. That was the person running the operation. The divers were either divers or surface support. If you were not running the operation then you were not allowed to talk to the media. We always debriefed the diver when they came out of the water. You two have your heart and mind in the right place. It isn't about getting rich, or being a publicity hound. It is about bringing the families closure period.

I can't believe that this video took an entire year to show up on my list of suggested videos. I've always been sceptical of AWP and their motives... it came across as a $ grab when they started the constant pushing of merchandise and asking for donations in all of the videos. Sam your character, honesty, integrity, and sincerity are incredibly commendable. This video needs more attention than it has received.

But Sam, Doug, Chaos Divers, please keep it going, I watch on a regular basis on KZread, as here in Ireland we obviously don’t get the US channels , people need people like you to help them in their time of need and yes I agree with Sam, having a camera shoved in your face when your “lost relative” has been found just isn’t on, it’s not the time, place. Keep it going guys, we are behind you. Margaret

The ironic part is- jerod (sp) was always the WORST part of the team. Unphotogenic, unhygienic, unprofessional, and worst of all, he just had this peculiar energy , this bad juju . He felt forced and disingenuous, whereas Doug and Sam and the bald guy felt sincere. J was the weakest link of the channel. In fact before everyone bolted , the episodes without Jerod were my favourite, by far. I haven’t watched an episode since he was outed as a pervert. Although his cousin doesn’t get a total pass either- to out him simply to ruin his life isn’t the best look. My guess is seeing people praise him and practically worshipping him was the catalyst - she wanted people to see the “real” Jerod.

Thank you for posting this. When I first heard about this on KZread from other channels, I felt the same way that you described. I was donating monthly thinking I was helping to keep them on the road so they could search for people to bring families closure. That was absolutely my feeling. That they were running on financial donations to upgrade equipment and maintain, but that everyone was mostly volunteering. I'm not someone who usually donates. Especially monthly. But really respected the idea that people were helping others. As soon as I got wind of the fact that AWP was far from broke and Jared wasn't paying those (except himself or 1 other) helping, I was angry. I felt duped. I thought it was a non-profit the way things were said in videos. If he was paying everyone reasonably for their time to help keep you all on the road, that would be more understandable. Everyone has to make a living and pay their bills. Greed will destroy a business eventually. I appreciate your approach in giving Jared the idea to change his mindset and realize that if he wants the people to support him and AWP, he needs to keep things transparent and honest. If he is making enough money to pay those helping him run the business every day, then that's what a moral, honest and caring person does. Thank you all for everything you have given up to help families (as well as all true others). Thank you for being gracious in your message to Jared. That speaks volumes as to what kind of heart you both have.❤️

I am a former paying member of AWP. Before you ever left I was becoming more and more disturbed by Jared’s behavior/demeanor. He was using the wrong name of lost loved ones to their grieving family members. He was pushing them to hard for content purposes. I knew many in the group started as volunteers but had no idea he expected it to continue that model after achieving such monumental success. I immediately stopped my membership and I’m glad you’re sharing the truth in the most gracious and respectful manner. I would love to support something better. Now we know why AWP has such a high turn over rate. It doesn't seem like people stick around real long. Yes, Jared is a smart guy and it shows. AWP as a collective has brought closure to so many people and that truly is a wonderful thing. That being said, even a great cause can be corrupted by greed. If Jared doesn't respect you enough to TALK about YOUR concern's it show's alot about his TRUE character. You have to follow your heart and conscious. Thanks for sharing what you've seen behind the scenes. Viewer's and especially channel members and donars deserve to know if the money they're giving isn't being spent for the reason they're donating it. Good luck on your new venture. They work hard for me and I can always rely on them, so I make sure they are always treated and compensated fairly. I couldn't imagine ever shafting any of them like Jared did to Sam. Without them, I wouldn't have the successful business that I have because there is no way I can do all of the work and keep the business running smoothly entirely on my own. Sam you were the reason I watched AWP. At the time I felt badly because of the good that was being done but couldn’t stand watching/listening to Jared. Listening to Jared as you stood to the side I felt the genuineness of your respect and always felt your empathy. Even in this video you continue to be genuine, respectful, empathetic and are understanding. I don’t know many who could do that when under a fraction of the circumstances you were experiencing. I stopped watching before you left because I couldn’t stand listening to Jared for another minute. It’s hard to describe but it was similar to the feeling a lot of us get when someone is genuinely crying - we feel like crying or feel sadness versus when someone is fake crying we don’t feel that same sadness. Jared gave me the feeling of someone fake crying but much darker than that. You gave the opposite of that. I think you would be an incredible front man without even trying. I mean no Ill will when saying this but Jared was great (not imo) as the front man in the way a caricature of a used car salesman would be. It is moving to listen to the two of you wanting him to use his talents for good, however I realize it has been a year or more and things have changed for the worse. That you both are able to acknowledge his good points shows even more of what quality people you are and I hope he can realize all he could of learned from you. I only learned that both you and Dan left when this scandal with Jared couldn’t be avoided because it was everywhere in the media. I think the last episode I watched was from one where Jared repeatedly had to bring up to the grandmother(I think) of a missing young woman what a rush he was in. I’m surprised that your departure from AWP was not all over the place. I wish I had seen this video a year ago or even known you had a separate KZread channel. I feel so badly, I’m sorry you were treated so poorly when all the good that you do should of been acknowledged monetarily and otherwise. It’s obvious you are not greedy person and did AWP because you wanted to use your skills to help those in need. If it was the case I don’t understand how it would be justified that one person profits in that situation when it was very clear there were several giving their all. Thankfully you, Dan and your son all separated yourselves from AWP and your good intention always shines so bright. Thank you.

I hope you can still keep on working because I loved watching your shows and seeing all the peace that brings that you guys when you’re out there doing your work to help these families get their loved ones home it probably brings peace to their family knowing that they can lay them to rest without issues I just hope and pray that you guys keep on working and doing good and who knows maybe one day you just may own a business like this and work and help other people as you do now keep up the good work love your videos. I'm shocked to find out that Sam and Dan were not on the pay roll. Yes I can see people volunteering for short periods at a time but when that volunteer becomes a fulltime front man then that person should no long be a volunteer but put on the payroll when the money starts coming in to take on people to help grow your company. How did AWP expect people to pay their living expenses long term while his company grew and him and his family lived the good life. Look forward to seeing more of Sam and hopefully Dan in the very near future.

Greed is often used too harshly. Anyone that has a channel on KZread works pretty hard at it. They should be allowed to have money. But, as Sam says, you can't claim poverty and not get called out on it eventually. AWP appears to be making between $1,300 to $20,800 per month. That is Ad Revenue only. That doesn't count Merchandise, Donations or Patreon members. Facebook alone has 1.1 million followers.

His upset at himself over not finding him the year before, seemed over dramatic and all about Jared! That was the first time I got a little glitch in my gut about him. Funny enough, the second thing was Kiely Rodni. They were all over every KZread channel they could walking straight to the edge of calling it a murder and no one would believe them if they deemed an accident. They said if it was deemed an accident they have more damning video to release. Once it was deemed an accident it was radio silence. Finally after they were badgered long enough over the other video, they put out a statement that said they respected the opinion of LE and there would me no further comment. Kiely made them their money with an in flood of subs, so it’s over! I had been considering stopping my donation weeks before this came out. The minute it came out I went directly to their channel and unjoined and unsubscribed

Dan says he wishes Jared would tell the truth. I wish Dan and Sam would tell the truth and let us know how long they knew this was going on and why no one spoke up. Sam was with Jared for two years and it appears that the only time this becomes an issue is when Jared uses his imageOn merchandise and gives him none of the money. I believe Jared should’ve Given Sam has money. But I also believe that if you two New about this then you are not honorable

@@missystrathmeyer7398 Your comment makes absolutely no sense. What exactly are you referring to them "knowing about" that would make them "not honorable?" Are you referring to the money that Jared was making using Sam's persona? First of all, this was very recent. He did not start selling the decals with Sam's face until just this past summer, so it's not like it was something that was going on for an extended period of time. Also, in case you missed this very crucial piece of information, he did it WITHOUT Sam's knowledge or permission. He just went and did it and then kept all of the proceeds to himself. He tried to talk to Jared man to man, but Jared was having none of it and immediately blew him off and cut him loose from AWP. THAT is what is not honorable.

I sure wish I had seen this video a yr ago! Thank you for sharing because it truly is an eye opener for me! What you guys do is so important for so many families! It is sad to have truly "volunteered" for 2yrs without any compensation while promoting AWP to the max. I truly believe that viewers in the future may actually request transparency in the form of online financial disclosure before they donate. We all realize that youtube creators need to live and have living expenses but excess for one's gratification definitely doesn't bode well with me either. Thanks again for sharing and I pray you and others like you will continue what AWP started because many families still need your help and there is no doubt in my mind that Jared's purpose is complete. He spread awareness and shared his skills through AWP but now his past has caught up to him and whether guilty or not of the alleged crime that happened 30yrs ago, he is done. Thing I truly hate the most is ALL the people that have been hurt in this process, his family, friends, co-workers, associates like you guys, supporters, and last but never ever least: the victims/suvivors of any SA or financial fraud. I do believe in karma! In closing, I have to say that I was surprised you said you still loved Jared even after the cold abrupt way he discarded you, etc. It is OK not to like someone and still be thankful for what they gave to your personal growth. Thanks again for sharing your views!

Sam and Dan, you both are amazing, caring, and honest guys. You know what it’s all about. Helping others. I just recently started watching AWP and could tell that you were doing it for the right reasons. Having lost my police officer son 9 years ago to a drunk driver, I know the road that grief leads you down. I could not imagine what these families go through losing their loved ones and not knowing how or why. What you do is so incredibly amazing and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping bring closure to so many people. I, too, am just now seeing this video. Seeing all the interviews, kudos for you both for stepping up - having a genuine heart and the kahunas to call those greedy ba$+@#ds out for taking advantage of people. Shame on them. It sickens me what has now came out. But keep doing this for the right reasons. God bless you both - there will be a special place in heaven for you!

Thank you for sharing this!! I'm a new fan and hopefully a future supporter of your cause. I agree that not every penny should go towards the cause, because everyone has to make a living and there's nothing wrong with keeping a little extra for family, as long as it's done in good conscience. By that I mean not greedy and remembering what the cause is all about. When you left my gut told me it was something like this, and I agree that this is something forgivable. It is easy to fall in that trap when it's something new. Your heart's are in the right place, and I hope your cause is as successful as I believe it will be. I have only been a ARP fan for a couple of years, maybe three. I haven't even seen them all yet but I do remember you and was sad when you decided to leave. I can tell how hard this was for you both. You are a good friend and person to try and correct what you know needs correcting. I truly hope that ARP realizes this. I would appreciate and respect a friend for trying to keep me grounded. This confirmed my suspicions. I run a paranormal investigation team and also a relic recovery team which has expanded to water operations based on some tactics learned from watching AWP. A year ago we offered our services to AWP and they reached out us and said they’d add us to their “resource database” if they were ever in our area. We’ve forwarded cold cases to them etc but it seemed like northern New York State wasn’t the demographic they were interested in. Then a few months ago they break this livestream about how they’re no long going to use volunteer resources from non-professional organizations etc. We took that as the beginning to the end. We got no reach out email regarding this, just happened to catch the livecast. After seeing this video our team has opted to distance our name from the AWP branding. We plan on expanding our relic recovery team to into more skill sets to be similar to AWP with a very moral based mission statement, BUT…. with no requests for money EVER. Good luck Sam and Dan in all of your endeavors.

Sam, I found AWP awhile back and that's where I learned of you. As a viewer, awhile back I was already getting the same vibe you speak of here... and that doesn't sit well with me either. Authenticity and Integrity are extremely important to me, and I appreciate you holding strong on those qualities. As a fellow diver, and boat lover, and hope to do something similar someday - I commend you man. I hope one day to shake your hand! Keep up the good work!

@@Leolioness44 I’m not going to take sides and line up and fight here. I like what AWP started out as, I don’t like that it became total marketing scheme to make money and hide content if you aren’t paying. (Jared has a background in marketing though I believe?). I don’t have anything against making money, just be fully transparent about your goals. Is it driven by helping people, or is that just a means to an end to our cash in your pocket.
