The Truth About A Chiropractic Y-Strap
My thoughts on the Y-Strap…
You’ve probably seen it all over KZread if you search “chiropractic”. The Y-strap is basically a strap that wraps around people's heads and a diversified chiropractor yanks at the Y-axis distraction, which causes a whole series of joints to pop.
But if your problem is…let’s just say a herniation at the C6 level, something that crude CANNOT give you a specific pressure type of adjustment that actually repositions it in the right place.
We are out for a specificity, not for a bunch of pops everywhere.

Thank you, I agree. I have had chiropractic adjustments since in my teen years. Later, I became a Chiro Asst Therapist and a Radiologist Tech in a Pain &Chiro Clinic. I applied therapies including including ice and heat therapy. Deep Tissue Massage, Interferential and Russian Stim as well as Ultrasound. I cringe when I see this being everywhere and encouraging the "One Yank" Miracle..I would NEVER allow a Chiro to give me this type of adjustmen. Although this seems very satifying to have one long crack down the entire spine, this could turn out very bad. I don't know if these doctors take x-rays before giving adjustments ... but I hope they do. I personally took xrays of three different patients over my career that did not know they had a fractured neck. This could truly be a disaster. 😮 Many loud adjustments give a satisfying crack that you think "Im cured!!" Realistically the next day you may find that your muscles stiffen up and you need more therapy/treatments. I think a Y Strap could end with a disaster such as ligament or blood vessal trauma .
They still do regular adjustments besides the y-strap.

Wow thank you for existing 🙏🏽 and thank you for your brain and sharing with humanity.
I've been a chiropractic physician for almost 33 years. During that time, I've developed my own technique (as most of us do over the course of so many years) that's a combination of Diversified, Thompson and a few of my own ways of reducing a subluxation. There are quite a few patients I treat that I've been treating since shortly after becoming licensed. I've been using the Y strap technique for less than a year. Regardless of whether the patient I treat is someone I've never treated before or someone I've treated intermittently over the last three decades, they've ALL experienced extremely positive results. Anyone I've ever treated in this manner requests that I do again. Some of the patients who are new to me have been treated by other chiropractic physicians for years if not decades. Every one of those, ones I've treated for decades or those someone else has, has expressed to me afterward that they felt something move that has never moved before and that absolutely needed to move because it gave them the most relief they've ever experienced. Although I can't be certain as there's no evidence, peer reviewed or otherwise, which proves it...I think that when the spine is decompressed in this manner that it occurs so quickly that the soft tissues, especially the nerves and the muscles they supply, don't have time to respond to or limit that decompression. I think that the decompression frees up the areas of concern that are causing the pain, even that caused by a buldged or herniated disk, and that when the decompression is over any tissue being affected by the misalignments that allowed pressure on the nerves or disk immediately reduces and naturally returns to where it should've been and where it belongs. Again, the only evidence I have to support this theory is anecdotal; however, dozens of thrilled and relieved patients grateful for that relief it's and always will be good enough for me ☺️

Keep in mind that patients are usually not educated enough to know what is good for their body and what is not. If it feels good, they want more of it. However, "feels good" doesn't mean it is actually healthy. Fact: Chiropractic is pseudoscience and its founder was an esoteric weirdo who was dissatisfied with the medical system. He actually wanted to establish chiropractic as a religion...

They are coming out. Are you guys hating on the ring dinger. 😂
No, I want both.
But it feels soooooo good!
I'm not sure if you watch the more polar chiropractors on KZread: but they DO address any rotations. Then they do the ystrap to provide some release.
I think a combination of y strap and specific work to trouble areas is the best way forward. There appears to be benefit to the patient from both methods.
Hear that? That's the sound of a million chiropractors snapping their heads back at this short.
There were also other chiro doctors who mentioned that Y-Straps aren't good for all since human spine are naturally curve, not straight. The pressure will be compressed on the cervical area, thus creating another issue. Instant relief for sure, but could be painful. Case to case.
They move the crooked joints first before doing the y strap genius
The real smh is Chiro has been around for 120+ years and someone just finally figured out this is the way to relieve people's pain.

I have a Y Strap at home but i only use it for traction and it feels good.
Hell no bro we ain’t that aggressive pull all this weight and gravity we need that tug lol
I have never seen anyone use the y strap first! There s a reason why they take so many x rays! They spend a lot of time adjusting all the trouble areas and getting everything opened up before they use the strap. Its usually the last thing they do. I don't believe any of them would put their career on the line unless they know it works! We see what they want us to see because it works for so many. I'm sure they have patience they would never use the strap on.
Thank you!
The y strap or ring dinger is more like a hard reboot 😂
Is it impossible for a synthetic extension to the carotid artery so it has an inch more of slack?
Thats why chiropractors use the ring-dinger in combination with targeted adjustments.
I want both..
Why not both? Make precise adjustments to properly align everything, then distract.
I so want a Y strap or the ring dinger. I can’t find a chiropractor in western Canada that does it.
I need that pop 😂
It's good for pulling pressure off of compressed vertebrae
I went to a chiropractor for months and the difference was negligible. I tried hanging one time and it turned my life around. Sometimes being delicate isn't enough.
Usually, proper adjustments are done BEFORE the Y-Strap comes into play.
EXCELLENT🏆
I actually had a y strap done and all the pain I had in the top part of my back vanished after they cracked it I was like in shock and stuck for a few mins but I got up and bro I felt like a inch or 2 taller
They do all that first, before the y strap. Do Joseph Cip does anyway
I mean they do individual adjustments on the subjected vertebrae. The Y strap is used at the end of the adjustment, it’s really meant for decompression for your entire spine, not a adjustment tool.
What about lower back and upper right leg pain after workouts… Y strap recommended? 😬
If you do the Ring Dinger technique the chance of repositioning itself is pretty high!
I've been going to the chiropractor for years and still get pain. I want the ring dinger.
Is it bad for you? I get it done like maybe once every two months and it feels so good.
Bro if they go to a ystrap guy he dont just start at that. He goes through multiple other actions to solve problems in ur spine he always finish the y strap if he feels everything is on its place.
So would you use the y strap after you’ve made your adjustments? Are you saying there’s never a used case for a y strap?
what about people that just need their spine decompressed and dont have some very niche issue like herniated disc?
Look im no expert but i’ve never had a y strap adjustment and left. Its usually specefic adjustments and the finale is the y strap for decompression
You can do both adjustments.
Can't we have both? Idc what anyone says, a good pop brings relief. I get that for long term change more needs to happen.
It does more than just pop. There has to be a reaction from central nervous system, endorphin release possibly? I am not a MD, but have had the procedure. Body perceives traumatic movement. Not sure
Hi there, I have disc herniated on C5 - C6 for 4 years. I lost my right hand triceps.. Osteopathic doesn't help me a lot. After tbe first treatment , my power in my triceps back Only 20%. Do you think Chiropractors can help more ? Thanks
Are you a Gonstead practitioner?
So a “Ring Dinger” is a solution, right? Cause it’s not twisting anything just “spreading” the joints (I know it’s not called that but I dunno the word for it) But it’s kinda like an accordion reaction where it’s pulled, giving space and “air” into the squeezed vertebrae’s…. Or am I all wrong? Do you understand what I’m saying at all- I mean, does it make any sense? 😅🤓
How do you know they aren't ALSO doing a specific adjustment to C6? I've seen tons of y-strap videos with nearly off them providing relief. Just bcuz you don't do it doesn't mean it doesn't work
Hi Dr would gonstead be suitable for someone with hypermobile neck ? And had a trauma, not sure if it is cervical instability
What does it do for lower back?
Isn't that y they do the Y-strap at the end?
The y strap is better for mid and low back the ring dinger with the towel is better for neck
Wat about my lower back lumbar. Everytime i lay down. Wen i get up i can barely stand straight up
Where the hell can I find that instrumental!?!?
Went to a chiropractor for adjustment and recommended the Y strap, I never had neck problems and after using the y strap my neck has never been the same. The left side below the back of my skull is so painful now! Don’t do it guys!

@@MeisUisme whatever you do , stay away from the chiropractors. This is how they continue to leech off of people just looking for some relief, but the unfortunate reality is that it just is not possible to achieve instantaneous long-term relief for anything musculoskeletal. Without a doubt the most effective way to actually treat things is through repeated, often low effort exercises and stretches done daily over a longer period of time, most effectively under the recommendation of an actual physiotherapist. Additionally, I highly recommend you take a good look into how chiropractics started, it will tell you all you need to know about whether or not this is something worthwhile if actual results are something you are looking for! I hope your pain gets better and I'm truly sorry to hear you had such an awful experience, I promise you are definitely not alone

@ScottySuicide they tried to rip his head off. Plus his wallet 😂
I disagree that its "just a while bunch of pops". I feel like its a large assortment of decompressions that together, allow for a lesser stress around many specific points along the spine.
I get this point of view, but why are there so many people getting relief from chiropractors using this y-strap method? It might not help everyone but for some it will hit the spot.
Try anything and everything in order to avoid surgery and gain relief
That's all great, except that specificity and repositioning joints have been disproven plenty of times.
It's to decompress the spine for an overall relief. There's specific adjustments to address specific issues in the spine and joints.
Isn't this the reason the Y Strap is always left as the last maneuver, because you adjust all the little sections first and then finish with the grand finale (y strap).
@truthdiscernment2307

Yes the y strap is like the climax of the whe ordeal I've seen 100s of videos of ppl crying because the years of pain just melted away
So i should not get that type of pop i really wanted to but i guess i will not
If only people knew how accurate this guy is y-straps and ringer fingers are going to give you short term relief why not solve your problem not your symptoms and get an accurate adjustment.
Doing a lateral adjustment without loosening up the joint would cause damage

@@Nightmareman3Yeah, I would really like to SEE how many people who disagree with that assertion are actually doctors because, I as a medical student myself cannot agree more with that assertion, the spine is composed of the 33 vertebras, the disk annulus, the spinal cord and all the ligaments of the spinous apophysis, the transverse process, etc, all of that structure provides solidity and protection to your spinal cord that are just a bunch axons of your brain neurons which gives you the capability to walk, breath, etc. If your spine was able to be adjusted only by cracking it, you could NOT even turn your back without becoming a quadriplegic or die.

Yea you can
how likely is it that one bone in an extremely strong column of connective tissue surrounded by inches of powerful muscle is “out of place”
They dont just use the strap. They relax all the muscles and do all the other pinpoint adjustments, the y strap is just one part in that, not a one and done cure all or anything from what i know
Combine both techniques.
Nah I want everything done at once thanks lol
The y strap feels AMAZING
Then why are there traction machines, thst do this slowly
I’m sure a good DC will address the shift before giving y strap It’s more just give relief of pressure on spine overall which gives life to people and firing nerves again that might be compromised
pulling up at every vertibrea would adjust every vertibrea
I need ring dinger but im afraid😢
People seem to love it and pay and line up for it why not
I never got this criticism. I’ve never seen a doctor not work on specific problem areas then use the y strap.
Y strap forever!😊
