The True Story Of Sable's Controversial WWE Exit

Спорт

How does somebody get into the professional wrestling business almost by accident, become one of the most popular television stars on the planet and then leave the industry by suing its most powerful organisation for over one hundred million dollars? And all in a little over a three-year period. That is the story - well, part of the story - of Sable, the blonde knockout who became a household name at the height of WWE’s Attitude Era.

She absolutely had a valid reason to be pissed, but that fury should’ve been directed at Vince & WWE way more than Sable. Luna is the one who made Sable look good in the ring, yet nobody from management even bothered thanking her. Vince also didn’t have to give Sable so much power….but he did. They could’ve put the belt on Luna, as a thank you for making Sable look competent in the ring so many times, but they didn’t.

She didn't want to be a full time wrestler, she didn't even really want to be a part time one she just earned enough to make it worth it. That's not a bad thing, and it's not her fault the WWE kept wanting to use her despite these things. And things like her and Mark not wanting her to do a strap match because she wasn't at all trained for it is completely fair. And the locker room and broader company culture at this time was completely toxic so everything Sable alleges probably fucking happened let's be honest.

Her diva antics, publicity stunts, and backstage presence is still unmatched to this day in the industry. Like Chyna, though on another spectrum Sable blazed a career and a path for herself that no other woman can have. Her timing with the company, and the entertainment aspect was aligned perfectly to create the most contemporary and adult atmosphere and that simply may never be replicated on television again.

Hello. First off, I would never call her a wrestler. Referees and managers took better and more, bumps than she did. I would call her the worst wrestler ever but she should never be consided a wrestler.! She also had half the charisma of Sunny. I cold continue but she's not even worth,in Cheeers from Canada.

Well said Sable was not like a lot of the other divas don't get me wrong most of those were beutiful but Sable was a whole other level she was amazingly beutiful and powerfully seductive especially in 2003 the ultimate trophy wife that had Brock Lesnar begging her at the bottom of her feet every move she's made turned to gold it was all one golden investment with a touch of elegance she got everything her way at the end and is set for life ..SUCCESS ... PROPS TO HER..

@@ernestkendon4213 Sable sold her image almost exclusively on sensuality. Her Slammy swimsuit stunt, her Playboy runs, and especially whenever in-ring. There just simply may never be a time again where a character like Sable can THRIVE in entertainment. As now television is TV-14 rated, and the entertainment industry no longer has any major influence on wrestling as it did in the late 90’s and 00’s. Women’s wrestling was marketed more as a reality sensation than a sport back then, as Chyna and Sable were legitimately going viral for their image. Stacy and Torrie were upcoming poster girls, and Trish going to the top. Now it’s the complete opposite, women wrestlers are more known for their in-ring competition as a more technically based sport than their entertainment endeavors. Which still sucks, because nobody in this generation knows wrestling like the 90’s and 00’s. Meaning wrestling just stays in its own world like any other culture that hasn’t gone viral. While WWE still had to use entertainment icons from the outside like Ronda Rousey to boost the women’s evolution to a higher standard and audience. Sable and Chyna actually helped make a name for the WWE again and became an pop culture icon in-house and from the brand like the Rock and unlike Rousey, there’s irrefutable proof and admittance that these women were pulling ratings on their own at some points. While Charlotte, Sasha, and Becky have only improved the industry respectively within itself, and not brought the company outside of its domain and to new heights like Playboy or Total Divas. That’s when there actually was a spotlight on the women’s division outside of wrestling. Nobody outside of wrestling now can probably tell you a thing about the Women’s Evolution, but housewives, sports fanatics, and pop culture junkies from that era of 2000’s culture can still tell you about Sable or Chyna.

What did Vince think was gonna happen when he signed someone w/o training just bc he thought she was pretty? (personally I didn't think much of Sable) Luna might've not been a perceived bombshell but she would work her behind off in the ring. Also you brought a normal person in around all these men that act like drunken & drugged up 13yos. On top of that you blew her head up. That wasn't a good recipe.

The main issue I take with Rena is her treatment of Luna (she basically is a major contributor to why Luna died never having fulfilled her dream of being champion). But beyond that, the blame falls squarely on Vince McMahon. He pushed her to the moon, centered her in most everything and enabled her every step of the way because he's essentially a horny, adolescent boy in a grown man's body. To an extent, it's actually perfectly understandable how most any human would get a big head in that situation.

She could not wrestle, she could not sing, she could not act, she could not dance (noone cares if, for example, Bayley can dance and sing but it is 2023 and female wrestlers are...wrestlers. And come to think about it, Bayley actually has a good voice... Anyway...). She flat out betrayed Mero. She was hard to work with according to everyone. She was full of herself. Let's face it people. We all liked her back then. For obvious reasons. And it worked for her and WWE. We were the main demographic (14-15 to 34). Thing is... We still are! We have become a bit wiser (I hope), we can find extremely beautiful models/pornstars with one click. And as far as wrestling is concerned, we now got tons of good looking women in WWE and AEW (Japan too) that are extremely good looking, charismatic and can also wrestle. And Becky looks better (lucky Seth, you the man). Just wanted to say that. P.S With all that said. Sincere condolences to her for what she is facing now with her present husband. Not her fault. Not the fault of their children.

Wow she did all of that?! Or was it the company? Let’s keep it real and place blame where it belongs. She was a beautiful woman and the fans loved her. It made the WWF lots of money and so they wanted to try and repeat that. It in fact worked with some other like Trish. The WWE stopped caring about serious women’s wrestling in 1995 despite all the talented women they had and some good matches these women put on since then up until 2015. At which point they saw the success of women in legimate sports and decided to jump on the bandwagon for the good press they’d get.
