The True Reason Why the F-22 Raptor Can Kill Anything in the Sky

Ғылым және технология

Typically, the Blue F-22s will slaughter the enemy from long-range. Indeed, as Fesler notes, if an enemy aircraft has survived to enter the “merge”-or visual range combat-and finds a Raptor, something has gone terribly wrong. That usually leads to an intensive debrief to understand what went wrong. Indeed, all of the pilots I spoke to unanimously told me that the debrief is the most important part of a training sortie. Nonetheless, F-22 pilots train extensively for a visual range fight. “We usually train full-up versus full-up,” Crash said. “We assume that a Western-trained F-22 is going to be the most challenging threat we’re going to go against.”

Did he ever tell us the "true reason"? BTW, the F-15 is undefeated against enemy aircraft and a single F-22 dominated a squadron of F-15s, I'd say the 'true' reason is "the F-22 is currently the greatest plane flying right now" With that being said, "the golden beebee" rule is still in effect.

  • @MrDJAK777

More then stealth or kinematic performance I'd bet the largest reason the f22 is so dominant over the f15s is due to the at the time first of it's kind (now developed into the smaller newer but still large for a fighter radar used on the f35 which upgrades from where then fed back into newer versions of the f22s radar) LPI AESA radar that is not only massive with a huge range but also low RCS itself. And in LPI modes is capable of "lock"ing targets and launching without setting off the targets RWR at all till the missile goes active. Which along with the extended range it can spot and fire from is where all the headlines like "air force says missiles fired from f22 are more effective" come from. For radar alone it almost certainly still trumps the F35s (though that has other sensor advantages for now- on paper) when it comes to range just due to its physical size/power.

Take the F-35...the plane some people love to talk trash about, they don't even realize that even though it can do air to air combat ,that is not it's mission, there will be Other fighters for that role, such as the F-22.

Several surface to air missiles failed, several air-to-air missiles failed, several anti-ship (air to surface and surface to surface) missiles failed. @@shubhamsandilya1131 Let's face it America, if it really wanted to, could make Vietnam disappear in an instant. The reason America gave up on that war was because it's citizens back home were in the midst of a social revolution & the war became unpopular with the American people. The Vietnamese lost way way more soldiers than the Americans so I also find it strange when people claim Vietnam beat America or whatever else they say. The truth is the American civilians forced it's Government to pull the military out of Vietnam, that's all, nothing more than that so I don't think anything was won or lost.

@@richb2229 Drones won't be the ones outing the f22, really it'd out the f35 before the f22 since the f35 has some overlap in design philosophy. As for the 35 taking over, not really? f22 is a specialist, while the 35 is an all purpose. You wouldn't get rid of your family car when you got a jeep just because the jeep can do more, you car still does what it does better.

they wouldve and probly for the same amount they ended up paying per plane. but everytime the pentagon wanted to lower the amount they wanted, the cost per each would go up. this went on for awhile in a vicious cycle until the thing became literally 3 times more expensive to buy per plane than if they just stuck to their original guns and bought the 700 they originally contracted for. yea, that was the original plan. and if they did so, they wouldve gotten these for only 150 mil each instead of nearly 400 million like they cost at the end with the less than 200 they went with... this is what happens when you let politicians make all the decisions.....

@Logical Perspective what? no, not at all. If anything theyve made all purpose fighters more important to maintain air superiority. Think for a second here, if fighters were useless why does every country still spend billions on developing them?
