0:05 I know Luke is Anakin's/Vader's son, but heir? Personally, I think Darth Caedus fits that bill more than Luke, but not because he's more powerful (He's not), but because he continued Vader's Legacy of Evil in The Galaxy, while having his blood through his mother, Leia.

I don’t know…..The Sequel Trilogy made him a demented prick….

My hero of all time is Luke Skywalker, Grand Jedi Master. He is so powerful, yet so caring and still humble. He is loved by his sister and friends, revered by the New Alliance, adored by his students and feared by his dark side enemies. My Luke is the one of Legends, never the one of the last trilogy. For me EU Luke will always be Canon.

Abeloth is significantly more powerful than peak Luke and significantly more powerful than The Son and The Daughter together, to the point that they needed to have their abilities amplified by sharing a hive mind with thousands of Kiliks to match hers with all that collective power. The only being in the entire franchise to outright be shown as more powerful than peak Luke is a Lovecraftian abomination infused with the very essence of both the light and dark sides, that just makes Legends Luke even more impressive than if he was the outright most powerful imo.

He's absolutely the GREATEST JEDI EVER! Grandmaster Skywalker. This is no argument. Legends Luke Skywalker is God mode!

I always thought of was interesting how sinister Luke was walking into Jaba’s palace. He choked out a dude just like his dad would. We’ve seen Vader confront the same palace in canon now, and eerily similar.

Luke "Never Jaywalked a Moment in My Life" Skywalker

That intro did kind of change the way I view Luke. I haven’t read too many legends novels yet (I will), but I always pictured him to be kind of a perfect Jedi after his “I am a Jedi like my father before me” moment in ROTJ. I was initially put off by some of the things that he would go on to do mentioned in the video, but none of it ruins his character as bad as Rian Johnson did.

Luke is very understanding of falling into rage,He just prefers if you balance that feeling,But his life has always danced with the dark lmao,He turned to the dark to try to kill palpatine in a ha *Gotcha bitch* moment,And was almost consumed by it

One impessive feat of telekinesis if one thinks about it was him stopping a foodfight, freezing every single object, crumb n droplet in midflight, that was thrown around. He did so directly upon appearing to the sirtuation, without preparedness, basicly to make a point. In the first black fleet book he manipulated the shattered remains of vader's coruscant fortress on a molecular level with the force to rebuild it. So the most impressive thing isn't really his powerlevel but his level of control n mastery of the force. Not his talent or potential, but his actual skill.

Everything you said is why I enjoy Luke in the EU so much. All that power but he's still just a man. And as a man who has made many mistakes in my life, I can relate to him.

Ikr EU Luke was great. What's your favorite scene in the Dark Nest trilogy?

One of the greatest examples of Luke's heroism and authority is when he called jaina "master solo" during the last battle against the lost tribe of the sith on coruscant in "fate of the jedi-apocalypse."

Years later and Legends Luke is still one of my favorite fictional characters *EVER*

It’s absolutely sinful what they did. Like most Star Wars fans don’t consider it Canon because it’s so fundamentally backwards. If all the Jedi that have ever existed Luke Skywalker is the least likely to have ignited his lightsaber whilst standing over his nephew. It would have NEVER happened. It’s the absolute opposite of everything Luke Skywalker is.

The absolute opposite, words cannot describe how immeasurably wrong they got Luke Skywalker. I don’t think there has ever been such a catastrophically incorrect decision in all of film making history. Fans literally do not accept those films as Canon because of that decision. Mark Hamill himself had to save us all from it by calling him Jake Skywalker. It’s an unforgivable offence to do what they did.

Kathleen Kennedy shows her true colors in the "sequel trilogy" - GIVING Rey EVERYTHING that was Luke's, INCLUDING HIS NAME, without her having to EARN any of it. All the power and accolades of the man without any of the work or accountability. Yep, sounds like feminism alright.

I love how the expanded universe is getting more and more credit. Just shows what losers these multimillion dollar corporations are. Disney, with all it's might, is a mere shadow of the passion of old EU.

The actual Luke. I don't know what the hell that thing was in the sequel trilogy.

Nice to know how badly Disney butchered him from a great character with deep lore to a weak old man cowering on an island

So back in the day, we pre-prequel trilogy gamers held a loose consensus that blasters fired "light energy" or, as also stated in numerous sources, plasma. Lasers are...lasers, and in canon travel as lasers do but lasers are very rarely if ever handheld weapons in Star Wars.

Wasn’t entirely sure on the music you played when moving to the different sections but the feats and explanations of the scaling like with Abeloth were peak as usual. Keep it up.

Disney seems to see Luke Skywalker as a plot device to give exposition in the sequel trilogy.

So just 2 questions about abeloth, 1-in the scan that states that abeloth is weaker than the celestials at 11:33, isn’t that referring to before abeloth turned into a monster? because it immediately talks about abeloth becoming corrupted after stating she was less powerful, meaning her corruption could have elevated her above the celestials since she was corrupted trying to become more powerful. 2-wouldn’t the fact that it takes both the son and the daughter to imprison her mean that at the least she’s stronger than them individually?

Great video! I love the Legends, Loop Skywalker, I would love to of had this version of him in movies instead of what we got in Disney, however, this version of Luke and Legends is my true cannon what happened after return of the Jedi.

Sound and solid points with great support for your position. I didn't really like Luke growing up. I got started on the prequels, so in my mind, a Jedi had to work for decades and train endlessly to be successful. Yes we know Luke is a force abberation but so was Anakin, and he had to train for a decade... I always felt like Luke was a bit of a Mary Sue. It took a long time for me to accept and appreciate Luke's power, I just hated how quickly it came to him. A couple months on Dagobah, year or two in isolation. Like Luke versus Maul, in my headcannon, that's Maul all day. But we know that's an absolute impossibility, and Luke is way ahead of him, like realistically could probably have beat him one on one without ever have seeing a sith, which is kinda crazy. I still feel ANAKIN is the strongest / had the highest level potential (Lv 120?) where as Luke was probably Lv 110 which is still God Tier but damn. Luke more powerful than all of the jedi council with just some self-reflection and a couple quick (albeit super focused) years of training never did sit right with me. Before all this disney star wars stuff, I used to ignore EU tbh. Now I view EU as cannon and got pissed watching disney Luke be a weak wimp. Lol. Ironic. (edit: spelling)

This makes it more complicated than it needs to be. Abeloths power grows with the fear and anguish she's able to feed off of. So her power scales depending on that. This is why she fears Luke. Hes the shining light to her darkness. She was imprisoned, but she was never able to be defeated by the son and daughter to the level that Luke and Krayt achieved. She is definitely more powerful than him by his own thoughts. But that doesn't mean he wouldn't have been able to bring balance to the son and daughter. That never got explored so we just don't know. Also George stated that Luke was the most powerful Jedi to have ever existed. That includes Anakin. Potential, with anakin being the chosen one, never turned into reality with his limitations. I feel like Luke's final legends form is what anakin could have been if he had been emotionally stable. On the other hand, being the chosen one could have been just a power to keep balance between the son and daughter. Not necessarily being the most powerful jedi. These videos are fun tho.

Lukes arc is imo one of the best

Anakins domination of son n daughter was inside mortis. A force nexus that's explicitly described to enhance force powers, which allowed qui gon to fully manifest there b4 his training of this trick was done. I see this feat of anakin as a scaling crutch over n over with everybody completely ignoring that fact. Also it was done, not to test anakin's strength, but his character. Therefore it is not at all clear if the son n daughter were even really trying to resist. It was a test to reveal if he would faulter, pick one of his companions over the other or try to help both no matter what. I loved to see ur deconstruction of the go to bit as a "proof" of abeloths superiority over the ones. I think, that scene of anakin is a similar kinda problem, where ppl are rush to conclusion by using a scene at surface value without any concideration of context.

While Anakin was undeniably amped by Mortis, it's patently intellectually dishonest to try to pretend like as if the entire point of most of the arc is moot because of that, which is that Anakin is, flat out, meant to be a replacement for the Father in keeping the two in line. That includes them possibly escaping, as well, which we know they have done before. The obvious intention of the arc is that Anakin has Father-level potential. You can try to backflip and handwave your way past it all you want, it's a brick wall you are always going to need to deal with; Anakin, per the Mortis arc, is supposed to be able to equal or exceed the Father, the strongest individual character in the franchise. Luke, by contrast, is simply not on that level. He just isn't. FotJ and Crucible make it very, very clear that Luke isn't on the level of the Anchorites or other god-level people.

@@papapalps2415 he is meant to do so THERE, so it's not at all implied by the task, that hhe would ever gain the ability to do it outside mortis. The only possible counterpoint is that we also don't know how much of their access to the force the ones would keep outside. That point is just as unclear. In their current form during the arc they never were elsewhere, far away of any force nexus. But even if they were celetials, those were technicly advanced but still a mortal species b4 transcending. The ones actually seem to have been normal people once. I just can't stand how this particular feat of anakin is used again n again as scaling point for his power of any state he was in b4 his death. It's not about how could he perhaps b in some future, but how was he azt a specific point in time. The mortis arc was ended with a questionmark about how real it was. It doesn't becomes meaningless but more as source for insight n learning like any vision.

The Ones are literally stated to be Concepts so I don't think they can age , you should know how Anakin became the guy with the highest Midochlorian count in history, it's cuz of Sidious and Plagus

I've always loved Luke, first saw Star Wars at 11, so of course he became a hero. Yet over time he needed to be the hero, just like Vader/Anakin needed to always be the villain. Doing back flips to make vader good or making Luke bad is going against the idea of the story.

People don't understand how powerful the force sever technique is it can completely destroy the midchronian on a person's body, exar kun tanked this technique in a massive escalate perform by over 2000 jedis creating a wall of light in the entire yavin4 moons 🌙 exar kun survived this the jedi couldn't kill him because he was too strong and wish to become a god, the jedi academy omnibus guide say exar kun was a threat to the entire universe.

I feel like a large part or lukes power comes from his understanding of his own connection to the dark side. Hes not a saint, but a man who has fully mastered himself spiritually. The most powerful force using characters in the star wars EU have learned both the dark and light side, and rejected the dogma of the sith/jedi dichotomy.

I never really got that Anakin was over powering the ones I thought it was him controlling them via being the chosen one not a feat of power but an ability inherent to his status. Otherwise I feel the scaling makes no sense

Youd have to theorize what Lukes full potential amp would be on Mortis too, because its probably almost identical to mortis Anakin. We're comparing amped Anakin to GM base Luke

I agree with more or less everything stated in this video. Great video by the way. Technically Luke's final fight happens in the novel Crucible, it was kind of lack luster in my opinion, but it did happen in a very wonky kind of way. I guess some may count that time he was a Force Ghost fighting Cade could be considered a fight that happened later. Nitpicking I know but just thought I'd mention it.

Luke is the most powerful being in the entirety of star wars. The only thing that can win against a prime Luke is Abeloth. The Mortis gods were subdued by Anakin, so Luke should have no issue with them.

I don´t believe a hierarchy of force-users by numbers makes much sense. The abilities, strengths and weaknesses of Jedi and Sith generally lead to a rock-paper-scissors dynamic rather than a clear tier-list. Windu beat Palpatine, Palpatine would arguably beat Dooku, yet Dooku isn´t necessarily going to loose to Windu, with him possessing an unusual amount of control over his dark side (which, in turn, powered Windu´s Vapaad when fighting Palpatine). The same might apply with Abaloth, the Father, Son and Daughter, Anakin and Luke. A feat - no matter how impressive - might completely overpower one opponet yet turn out useless against another.

the problem is mastery means nothing when all others involved are also masters,what does mastery then even mean? i think that force power and combat wisdom and intuition start playing the defining roles even how el you keep youre body trained. a person like palaptine is good with allot of things but not keeping his body in good fit shape,anakin was yet vader was also a wreck in terms of body so the force and cybernetics is what add to his physical strengt yet his biggest asset was anger and the force.

The true Luke Skywalker is closer to a gray Jedi. His entire character was based on correcting the faults of the Jedi order before him. The Jedi order pretended to hold these high values but they were impossible to keep to and created internal conflicts that bred the dark side, and caused the downfall of the Jedi. The gray Jedi doesn’t make the dark side of the force taboo, but balances it. For every good deed he does, there’s a cruelty he would administer in the name of justice. It’s not about being a good Jedi, he simply reinvented the Jedi order. He could do all of those things and still be good. That’s what made him special

No, Luke isn't a Grey Jedi. His entire arc in the OT is about rejecting the dark side; he wins by refusing to give into his anger and kill Vader. "The gray Jedi doesn’t make the dark side of the force taboo, but balances it." That's not really how the dark side works. The dark side is addictive. When you use it, you just want to use it more and more. "Grey Jedi" who use the dark side but in a balanced way don't really exist. Quinlan Vos tried to do this during the Clone Wars and just ended up doing a bunch of bad things and almost turned to the dark side for real. Luke even tried something similar in the non-canon Dark Empire comic, and ended up learning a similar lesson. The only possible exception seems to be Vapaad users like Mace Windu. "For every good deed he does, there’s a cruelty he would administer in the name of justice." That's ... literally just what Jedi are supposed to do. They're peacekeepers, not pacifists. If people are in danger, a Jedi is supposed to do what is necessary to protect them. Mace Windu was ready to kill Palpatine without trial because he was too dangerous to be kept alive. Yeah, Anakin SAID it's not the Jedi way and all, but what he really cared about was saving Padme. "It’s not about being a good Jedi, he simply reinvented the Jedi order." Sort of, but he didn't do it by becoming a Grey Jedi. The Jedi's policies of banning marriage and the fact that the corruption in the Republic ended up causing them to become overly bureaucratic as shown during TCW were problems, but Luke changing that doesn't mean he's any less of a Jedi.

I see so he's basically walking cheat code .

Dude grandmaster Luke is so much more powerful than Anakin at his peak before turning to the dark side and it’s not even close. The Abeloth argument isn’t valid, she’s more powerful than the son and the daughter hence it taking both of them to beat her. Luke could take her and you can’t honestly say Anakin in the clone wars could have done the same

Luke isn't on Abeloth's level, though, nor is Abeloth at the level she was operating on during pre-historic times in FOTJ, nor even during her prime was she sufficiently powerful to utterly subdue the Son and Daughter in the same way Anakin did, and infact, we KNOW she wasn't, because she lost/fled from the Father, who Anakin had to the potential to equal or surpass.

​@papapalps2415 anakin was only able to do that on mortis force nexus, without it he would needed over 40+ of training like luke Skywalker to reach that much power, and still wouldn't be enough to defeat her abeloth in the EU got more powerful with time

The problem is, the entire point of the arc is that Anakin is supposes to have the potential power to replace the Father (I.E., become either his equal or surpass him). Note, Anakin. Not Anakin, plus a gargantuan Force nexus. The Father makes this clear repeatedly. And lul no, Abeloth very much did not get stronger over time. She, in actual fact, got vastly weaker, as we know back in the pre-Republic era she was able to assimilate entire planets under her thumb, which we know increases her power.

based purely on knowledge and experience, Kyle Katarn is far wiser than Luke. But still they are very similar, and the New Jedi Order is basically Luke's private company so yea. Katarn and Luke shaped the modern Jedi doctrine, promoting love instead of denying it like the old Order, which cost them weakened, stale and destroyed. Luke makes sure love is based on compassion and altruism, avoiding selfishness and arrogance that caused his father's fall. And through strong empathetic bonds of a Jedi to his/her friends, family and those under their cape, Jedi to Jedi, their powers are amplified much greater than the olds. Katarn, on the other hand, teaches the Jedi what was it like to be in darkness, how hard was it to protect their souls from the call of darkness, using both dark and light arts in equal measure with a cold mind and a warm heart. There should be a video about Katarn too, this guy's journey is perhaps as beautiful than as Luke's.

Tbh, Katarn is not really that important for NJO, they never showed him being anything more than just one of Order's masters. They made Katarn a part of Luke's Order in 2000's after making multiple stories about Luke's jedi, this is why Corran Horn is Luke's right-hand man, not Katarn. During Yuuzhan-Vong War more than half of the jedi listened to Kyp Durron, others listened to Luke, Katarn had no influence whatsoever.

This just gets ridiculous. When do these people get the time to master all of these arts and powers?

Don't they say this about ever jedi?

We have to get a Legends sith ranking from strongest to weakest, or mabey of all time. Including legends and canon.

Canon has no Sith that are cannon specific all Cannon has is the Rule of Two Sith which are the exact same in Legends other then Vader and Sidious being slightly different in terms of story but there would be little point

@The Great One don't know who lord Skywalker is, is that Cade Skywalker or do you mean Jacen Solo? As for kyrat and kun, kun was strong for his time but not so much later. As for Kyrat I never read the comics, wish I did but didn't and I refuse to support Disney until kk is gone so I'm waiting off on them.

@The Great One Thanks. As for Krayt, almost forgot about him, well did forget his name. Legacy of the force series was such a mess and I kinda wiped it from my memory; thought he was the sith from Cade Skywalker's comics. But yeah thanks for shaking my memory, given Krayt was stated numerous times to be almost as powerful as GM Luke, who was stronger than Darth Jacen (his sith name is stupid and hard to spell) whom was stated to be stronger or equal to palps who is stated to be strong than all previous sith which included Vitiate even if Vitiate hadn't been written yet, yep that would make Krayt the strongest.

To try and argue that Grandmaster Luke is not as powerful as Anakin was in season 3 of clone wars is literal insanity.

You are wrong legends Luke Skywalker is the most powerful force user in Star Wars bar the ones yes he makes mistakes but he is ultimately The epitome of a Jedi and the most powerful and wisest Jedi to ever live this is how he is described in legends continuity also you can’t include full potential Anakin because he never got to his full potential
