The choice of Jesus riding on an unbroken donkey holds symbolic significance and fulfills Old Testament prophecies. Fulfillment of Zechariah's prophecy: The Gospel of Matthew explicitly states that Jesus riding on a donkey was to fulfill the prophecy of Zechariah 9:9, which says, "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey." By riding on a donkey, Jesus was demonstrating that he was the promised Messiah, the King of Israel. Symbol of humility and peace: The donkey was an animal associated with humility and peace in Jewish culture. By choosing to ride on a donkey rather than a horse or chariot, which were symbols of war and conquest, Jesus was conveying his peaceful and humble nature. This choice emphasized that his kingdom was not an earthly kingdom built on power and force but a spiritual kingdom founded on love and righteousness. Significance for Passover: The Triumphal Entry took place during the Jewish festival of Passover, when Jerusalem was crowded with pilgrims. In biblical times, it was customary for kings and important figures to enter cities on donkeys during times of peace. Jesus' choice of riding on a donkey during Passover would have resonated with the crowds, associating him with the anticipated deliverance and the hope of God's promised redemption. Overall, Jesus riding on an unbroken donkey was a deliberate action that carried deep symbolic meaning. It fulfilled prophecy, demonstrated his humility and peaceful mission, and conveyed his identity as the long-awaited Messiah.

Why do people assume Christ was in a manger when the Magi came!!! Scripture clearly says he was found by them in a home. This is constantly misquoted of the scriptures, Christ was almost 3 years old and not found in a manger. People also believe this star was some how supernatural. This star was the plant Venus and its showing was in September the Jews first month Tishri.

Jesus' kingdom is a spiritual kingdom over the New Heaven and Earth. Jesus taught that his kingdom is not of this world, indicating that it transcends the physical realm. Instead, it is understood as a spiritual realm or domain that is established in the hearts and lives of believers. This is based on passages from the New Testament, such as in the Gospel of John, where Jesus speaks about his kingdom not being of this world (John 18:36). Additionally, in the book of Revelation, there are references to a new Heaven and Earth, symbolizing a renewal and transformation of the present world (Revelation 21:1). The spiritual kingdom means that Jesus' rule extends beyond and over earthly power structures.

Bill, Jesus hasn't come back ( second coming) and the New Heavens and the New Earth will be literal....not symbolic.

Bill, you should have read to the end of Revelation. There will be a physical new Jerusalem.
