I’m baptized Catholic and raised Catholic but faith was never really practiced while growing up. I wasn't well catechized. I’m now in my 50s, I had never gone to Holy Thursdays, Holy Fridays or Holy Saturdays masses. I attended Easter Sunday. Today will be my first Holy Thurs. that I will attend. Pray for me!

Well, you can't take the holy communion. You need to go to the confession first. But you can't take the confession before you inform the priest about your absence for 50 years. You carry a heavy load of sins on your shoulder, that should be removed first before taking any sacrament.

Love this. Watching this on Easter 2024 and this video will continue to educate on the season of Easter in the years to come. Absolutely enjoyed listening to this.

I've been fasting every day of Lent this year to offer prayer especially for the Islamic people's of the world who fast tremendously at this same time of year. Save us Lord Jesus Christ 🙏🏻❤️✨

I am a devout Catholic since birth, I practice and attended all these masses but it was just recently that all these were explained well to me and my family when we started attending to a Divine Mercy centre in our city Calgary, Alberta. The nuns running it and a super godly, good priest Fr Gabriel who was so strict in these teachings he’s originally from Nigeria and he said this is what’s missing now a days in the church the “basic” teachings and the catechism which for sure a lot of the baptized Catholics are not as familiar. So this teachings that Fr Cris Alar is doing will indeed save a lot of ignorant souls. God bless and keep you Fr Cris! Keep on doing these teachings 🙏🙏🙏❤️

​@@marybaer4660 I believe he meant that a year ago he partook in the washing of the feet because many churches will actually have their cathechumens who will be receiving their Sacraments or completing their Sacraments of initiation on the Easter Vigil be the ones who get theor feet washed.

Fr Chris, thank you for your beautiful faith. So many Catholics are starved from the truth. I truly appreciate these talks. The only other place where we Catholics receive good teaching is through the Charismatic Renewal.

I'm a year old Catholic and when I first started to learn of the church, Fr Alar' videos were a good source of knowledge. I'm surprised cradle Catholics don't know their faith. But, always learning something new.. so awesome the Catholic church.

I am a Christian not Catholic by birth, I follow Catholic teachings base in a curiosity to understand the differences in our walk of faith in our walk with Christ, this explanation is been fascinating to hear- this Easter I wanted to spend it immerse in what truly means to observe each step from Palm Sunday leading up to resurrection day…. I have a Catholic church nearby, been considering to visit and be part of the fasting on Friday to the vigil on Saturday to the break of Resurrection Sunday ✝️🌅 I would love to get my hands on the book “understanding divine mercy” The Tridumm explained was a truly blessing to hear to/ amen,God Bless🙏

I also believe that when Jesus was nailed to the cross he felt the pain of all the human beings past, present and future. My favorite Rosary mystery is the Sorrowful mystery and when I meditate I also feel that all of Jesus physical pain, suffering and cross, that he was carrying, he carried the weight of all the pain of sins of all humans, past, present and future. WHAT A HEAVY LOAD!!!

On Holy Thursday. After the mass the priest took the holy Eucharist walked around the church and put it in another tabernacle on the side. And all decorations, bells, flowers were fast removed with no explanation. Thank you Fr Chris for this explanation. I think we need to be given such explanations. I am 54 years old, was born Catholic but some of this stuff I hear for the first time💕

Todays Holy Thurs. I had watched this last year. I watched this again last night. This time fasting part really intrigued me. I'm 60 yrs old, now I fast backwards to all the years that I vacationed during Easter break, going to the beach and having a lot of fun. I indulged in feasting on appetizing, scrumptious foods. I was raised Roman Catholic but it only meant going to church on Sundays nothing else. There was no fasting and praying time during Easter. I have attended an Byzantine Catholic church from 2013-2022. It's their custom to fast no meat, cheese, dairy or eggs during the whole Lenten (40 days) season, not just on Fridays. I've practiced their custom. Because health issues, I'll practiced this fast, abstaining from consuming those same foods plus no sweets, no adding S&P or seasonings to my meals.

I was fortunate to be able to attend all Holy Week services all the way until hs graduation because of where we spent our two weeks of spring break. Spring break always started on Holy Week Wednesday. We also had the octave free. But the best part was arriving at our he grandparents and then attending holy Thursday mass with the whole family. There were processions and via crucis and it all culminated with a midnight Easter mass. I believe this is what kept me Catholic even when I wasn’t practicing. Mama Mary, st Francis (my patron saint) and Padre Pío brought me back. I love that you explained it all, we simply did what we were told without much more than a “Catholics do this” as an explanation. At 59, 6 years into my come back I’m still learning what poor catechism didn’t and I will never again go away from His light.
