    Super fun to hear you switch from Spanish to English; sounds like 2 different people. That’s skills! 😀

    Nice video Stuart. I used to drive past Villena regularly and I always found it a pretty disappointing place with not much of interest. What it did have though were some amazing Ventas on the carratera on the outskirts where the lorry drivers stopped for their lunch. Fantastic menu del dia for next to nothing. When I'm touring in Spain I've always looked out for any place that has lots of camiónes parked outside and you are guaranteed to get an amazing plate of food.😀👍

    Big village, population of around 35000. If it's castles that float your boat you should travel a few more miles along to Sax which has a very impressive one which dominates the skyline on the approach to the town.

    Why many towns in Spain have lack of trees?

  • @harriettt9857

    @harriettt9857

    They certainly don’t appreciate trees and it’s not for the lack of water (an excuse) ! There are some really beautiful villages and towns Arnes (Catalonia) Valderrobres ( Teruel ) Vilafames ( Castellon ) and some very very ugly ones . But trees in most Spanish towns are not high on the list

    Thanks stu, Steep hillside which was once forest and grass, replaced with these houses. Times and tastes wasn’t well thought out, except for proximity convenience for the locals. Greenery is not a strong suit.

    My husband and i are planning a trip to Spain in possibly October. We're from Canada and are hoping to love it there enough to make Spain our retirement home. Canada is just way way way too expensive, and crime rates everywhere here are through the roof.

    The city of Benidorm, in Costa Blanca, announced they will be charging tourists between £650 and £1,020 for going to the beach between midnight and 7am. That includes swimming in the sea or sleeping on the sand. Taking your clothes off on a non-nudist beach could land holidaymakers a fine of £560. Drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes on the beach in Benidorm also is strictly forbidden, with fines of £650 and £1,700 respectively. GOV.UK has warned British tourists to only use registered taxis in Spain this summer, as passengers caught travelling with unlicensed taxi services could get fines of up to 600 euros (£510). Fines for noisy tourists, from playing loud music on the beach, to talking too loudly in your accommodation. Authorities are closing in on any unlicensed or unruly parties and will issue a fine to anyone involved in the organisation and marketing of the event, as well as attendees. This could result in a £25,000 fine." It’s also likely foreign residents could be effected by new regulations being looked at those who have lived in Spain for 10 years may be forced to get legal residence or leave Spain.
