    Finally a good spring mounted keyboard !!, but those fonts in the weight though, and I wish it comes with a PCB with no flex cuts and with RGB.

    Now I understand why 6 of my Kailh BOX Silent Pink switches had their legs bent when i tried to install them in my Akko Top 75 (my first custom keyboard :') ) it was 5-point compatible, but the mat underneath only had holes for 3, so I bent a few in the process 😅 Thankfully while i didn't have tweezers, i did have nail clippers which surprisingly worked well too! I'm definitely gonna be putting in a couple layers of electrical tape on the back though, maybe some PE foam to go with it. Hopefully it works out better than the stock build! Thanks again for a great video with your own personal insight, really helps first time custom keyboard builders like me!

    Honestly the keyboard seems like a lot of work. I just imagine someone who wants a simple set from akko to start building keyboards and end up with this. But I mean it is good for it's price if you don't look at how messy that one step seems.

  • @keebtunes

    I agree!! Even just doing the tape mod requires all kinds of hole cutting for the springs. And it sounds awful without it!

    I like the FR4 plate, the PC sound like it doesn't know if it really wants to be clacky/poppy or not, definitely poppy with the FR plate! Not being able to use the included plate foam kind of stinks but the individual ones look better, just more work.

    This board definitely needs a bit of modding to get to that next level unlike more and more of the competition. I didn't use tape mod but instead used forcebreak and dacron fill to kill the hollowness. It doesn't have a lot of volume on the sound and I tried using PCB stabilizers but it doesn't seem to work well with their plates. The plates don't really allow pcb mount stabilizers to properly come through (at least not Owstabs) I'm going to try rebuilding and trying different stabs and seeing if it's just better to use their plate mount stabs and the FR4 plate to get more clack. The shallow typing angle is not my preference either.

    I couldn't agree more with you on your first statement! While it's fun to experiment around, I didn't care for it. I decided with tape mod over any fill since I wanted to keep the flex, but otherwise yeah, some polyfill would've been nice :D

  • @ad111
    @ad1116 ай бұрын

    The multi-flex cut in the pcb while it's not my cup of tea i can see it. The problem is the combination of spring and flex cut. I like soft typing but i dont like my whole hand sinks in the keyboards while typing. Feeling not rigid is not my thing Ps : Also the sound kinda thin with all the flex cuts

  • @keebtunes

    @keebtunes

    6 ай бұрын

    Agreed!!! And I didn't want to fill it so that I could preserve the flex, so it does sound more hollow than I'd like. The heavier spring won't feel as "cushy", it is a good bit stiffer with flex

    Totally on preference! Some people like flex alot and others don't care for it or know much about it...it's nicer to type on - the idea is that the flex creates cushion for your fingers and you'll experience less finger fatigue

    Hi thank you for watching the video!! I am still waiting for the Rainy75 to come in since I don't have one to test out, but based on other videos that I've seen, I'd recommend the Rainy because it's less work to build out and aesthetically, it looks better. The SPR is all about the "flex", but that means other areas will suffer, like lack of RGB and some hollow sounds (unless you add polyfill). I personally adore the older version of this board more than this version, and I can update you on the Rainy once I get it (been waiting two months for it)

    At this price range they should put wireless, doubleshot tpu stabs, and better backplate design like golden crane in akko acr. Spr75 feel like a ripoff since all they offer is those little springs (i believe the springs are cheap), all akko borad feel like ripoff of the recent hype mod keyboard. other cheaper board already including rgb-flexcut. That badly cut ixpe foam is also a failure. I will buy this if the price goes down under $ 80.
