The Train Collectors Society, Bassett-Lowke Society & Trix Collectors Association - Exhibition 2023
What a fantastic show, held in the British motor museum, Gaydon Warwickshire. It was lovely to see such a wide selection of vintage railways form across the hobby.
Unfortunately, as you will hear I am still having issues with my microphone, I thought it was fixed but only found out its still bad when I got home looking at the footage, I don't normally have anything that interesting to say!
Join me as I take a walk around the exhibition, I have tried to avoid catching peoples faces and conversations but may have caught the odd one. If there are any objections please let me know the time and I will edit accordingly

Many thanks!
Wow Matt. So many great items on display. I recently started a Tri-ang TT Type A track layout on my channel to go with my Tri-ang Series 3 layout and collection. The vintage trains really are great to work with. Thanks for sharing. Mon

@@dustyshelfcollectables most of the videos on the channels are a progressive build type video Matt. As you know, early days of any layout building seems a bit lacking in detail. More interesting videos to follow with more track and then more engine arriving. Mon from Monsville Railways
Many thanks for a truly remarkable insight into the various model railway guages with something for everyone. Having modelled in 00 guage for years for the last eight I have renewed my love of 0 guage and I was particularly impressed with the Bassett Lowke 0 guage deltic diesel and coaches 😊😀

The Deltic was one of the stars of the show in my opinion, a very special engine! Anyway thankyou ever so much for watching and taking the time to comment.
Blimey Matt - you're certainly prepared to cover the miles for your hobby! Great video as usual; a real nostalgia fest, thanks a lot.

The show was recommended and well worth the trip!
Hi Matt, nice to meet you on Saturday. Your camera is very good - great quality. Earlier in the day one of the Marx loco's caught fire ... the chap running it was nowhere to be seen, and we couldn't find the controller to switch it off for what seemed like ages. Quite a stench it made. I have just up-loaded my effort, and as it only covers the 0/G1/G2 tracks, I have put a link in the description to your film - I hope that is okay. Best wishes Ian

Thank you very much!
A very enjoyable video Matt. You have certainly opened my eyes in the past few months of watching your videos as I had no idea that there was such a big interest in the vintage side of the hobby. Most train shows I have been to seem to concentrate on the newer train items with little interest given to vintage and maybe relegated to one layout in the hall! The trains you show are in beautiful condition and run very smoothly along the track which proves we do not have always to buy the modern stuff. I wonder if the modern stuff will be running in 60 years time. lol Your interests are very wide and I was wondering as an aside if you were into Mamod Steam which is another topic that fascinates me? Cheers Malcolm

Oh yes, my first mamod was at the age of 10 which I still have on display, the traction engine in my logo is a 1 inch Markie and I have also dabbled in larger scale live steam, but that for future videos (it didn't go very well, I am not a good driver!). This show was more than I hoped for, I thought I was alone in liking the older locos as most are relatively cheap, but the collectors society opened my eyes! Thanks again Matt
As usual some very good layouts 🎩🎩my fave always A4 Pacific ,this show looked quieter than the last one !

Yes it wasn't very busy, but a new venue for the event (so I was told ) so I guess it will grab some traction next year
