Before her nephew George got famous, Rosemary Clooney was already a prominent singer, songwriter, and actress in the early 1950s. She became famous for songs like “Botch-a-Me,” “Mambo Italiano,” and “Tenderly.” Her career began to languish in the 1960s partly due to her bouts with depression and drug addiction. In the '70s, Clooney's career experienced a revival when Bing Crosby asked her to appear on his 50th-anniversary show.
Her career and life have faced multiple tragedies, including a nervous breakdown after her close friend Robert F. Kennedy’s assassination during his presidential campaign. This is the tragic true story of Rosemary Clooney.

Rosemary Clooney had such a fabulous voice, it was so soothing and mellow. She had one of those unique voices. I loved it

What an incredible woman and creative force! Rosemary accomplished so much in her lifetime and we are still listening and loving her music to this day! She was a survivor and the truth of her talent and poise is evident throughout her life story.

I love Rosemary Clooney, I love to watch her show from 1956-1957. Her voice is just the best! Rosemary Clooney is my favorite and always will be.

I look forward to looking into Rosemary's work. She sounded like she was tenacious and determined and honest, willing to take accountability for her actions and then move on. Her friends in the industry must have genuinely liked and respected her to help her get back in. Like I said, I can't wait to check her out more. You know the stories of these people with connections or of people who just have an amazing talent. The most inspirational and interesting to me are the people who had to work at it... I would have to say... A very sad ending but also a very incredible life. Thanks for the video.

She was awesome and so was her son Miguel who was on Law and Order and also died of cancer 😞 RIP

She had a wonderful nephew, a talented son, and starred in my favorite + arguably the greatest Christmas movie of all-time. Give me and my family those troubles
I remember seeing a biography movie about Rosemary Clooney, and also the episode of "ER" in which she was a guest actress. The movie helped develop a great empathy for those who suffer abuse from their parents, or spouses, etc within me. She was a good actress as well. I can see so much of her in George Clooney. Thank you 😊
In 1977 when This For Remembrance was a great book. I read everything in it and understood what I read. I was a big fan of Rosemary Clooney and bought her cds and albums. I used to call stores in California, New York and Kentucky . I live in Maryland. Even though I loved Rosemary Clooney as a singer and actress I loved listening to heavy metal such as Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, Motorhead etc. Even to this day I still buy her cds and albums. Her best album is Rosie Solves The Swingin' Riddle.
Ah, Rosemary Clooney, what a wonderful, mellow, soothing voice she had. I remember hearing both her and her sister, Betty, "Back in the day." (I also remember her great performance on "E/R" and got the impression of a great fondness George Clooney had for his aunt and she for him.) Stay safe, everyone.

Thank you for posting. I can understand why Rosemary didn't like some of those stupid novelty songs - she was more talented than that. But she did have the chance to record some classic songs anyway. My favorites are "Tenderly" and "Hey There". I can listen to both of those recordings all day long!!

Why is "cheating on your wife" being held over people's heads in recent yrs? I mean, old morality has been fading , but this keeps popping up lately LOL I'm like Really!! Cheating is a big deal now? Is that why infidelity can't be used in divorces anymore in most states?? How about STFU about it.

In 1997 I started the Rose Mary Clooney in Maysville Kentucky. I got to I got to meet Dante and Bob Hope at their wedding at saint Patrick’s church in Maysville I knew her brother Nick his wife and George. They all lived in Augusta Kentucky.

When I was a kid posturing as oh so hip I used to make fun of her. Her story has broken my heart and makes me wish that somebody would have had the nerve to approach me and tell me her story wasn't funny. At all.

Clooney also had enough show business connections to rival Kevin Bacon. George Clooney's aunt. Bought George Gershwin's house, and lived in it until she died. Her nephew (I think) married Pat Boone's daughter Debby.
