I agree, their story is short of a tragedy. Just lots of misunderstandings and hurt feelings about egos and money and who gets the credit.

Their harmony was unbelievably perfect. Absolutely incredible! I miss that.

I flew in from Germany to Los Angeles to attend a concert of S&G's 2003 "Old Friends" reunion tour. I will NEVER forget this night singing along my musical heroes for more than three decades with tears in my eyes.

I, too, was at that concert tour, but in Tampa. I even have on my "Old Friends" baseball shirt today.

Whether they ever get together or not, their music will live forever, and their names will be intertwined for all eternity

Since 70's with the sound of silence, I got addicted to S&G and still today I love to hear them !!!

They were the "sound" of an era. Simon shouldn't feel guilt in his old age - they both gave their all really and they don't owe the world anything more. We should let them gracefully back off and let us keep their wonderful legacy.

The very best harmonious grassroots folk duo ever, so many brilliant artists in all genres seem tormented lost souls in real life . Fame and money rarely equal happiness . Their music is iconic and cultural , it always takes me back to places and people from the early 70's when they were part of everyones record collection.

They had the exquisite harmony usually only found in siblings, and they were, and remain, the sound of my generation.💗

Their music will never have an expiry date.

I grew up in this century, and man, I love Simon and Garfunkel. There music is timeless.

And the live version of Kathy’s Song. Superb! I was at the Concert in Central Park in 1981 and it was something I’ll never forget.

My favourite song is The Boxer

Two people who never give up and re invent themselves. Nothing more than admiration.

The earliest duo I ever knew. Beautiful harmony and too many songs to choose from.

I am just happy they gave us all as much as they did.

They have had their fights, but now where they are both getting old, I hope they have made peace with each other. Once and for all.

Bridge over troubled water my favorite. They both need to give up their pride and reconcile. Not many people have friends that long. It's a gift

It's hard to choose with these guys....I like all their songs. I guess: "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and "Sounds of Silence" 👍🎶🎸

Simon and Garfunkel are living legends . They wrote and sing their own music which not many new artis do today.

I have loved their music since the early 70’s, one of the greatest, if not the greatest duo’s ever. I just wish that they had kept together and released more.

There music is so beautiful it is very hard to believe we still do not listen to it today in stores or on the radio. It is hard to understand and believe this music is generational. The interesting texture of the arrangement of the instruments with the depth of the lyrics leaves a person like myself who is sappy and has not always seen life with a clear lens spell bound and mystified.

There are some amazing covers though, which is some consolation.

The greatest duo of all time and my favorite since I discovered them in the early 60’s to the present . I just hope that in spite of their turmoil and hits and misses; they are still my best.

And in this case it is also true. They are 5 years older than I am, so in 1966 I was in my senior year in High School when Sound of Silence was hot, they have been an important part of my life and I can still hear them and experience the feelings of my youth. And when you realize that all that brought just trouble, disturbance, depression in their individual and professional life that is truly tragic. They have given so much to the audience and got so little for their own comfort (and I am not talking about money, cars and houses)-

I saw S&G at the beginning and end of their careers and several times in between, always magical.

I attended Paul’s last show of his final tour at MSG. It was incredible. He had so many standing ovations and he was very humble about it. It was really something to stand there watching him and his band give their very best knowing this was it. It was an incredibly rare moment that aligned everyone’s mind together.

I love Simon and Garfunkel and I was a kid of the 90's.

KZread! Do you seriously believe, that interrupting ads - often in the middle of a musical highlight - make people interested in those wretched products, they are trying to sell? NO! The ads are intrusive, loud, over energetic and directly off-putting! Drop them - make extra money elsewhere!

Paul Simon inspired me to learn the guitar. I love so many of his songs. My favourite is Kathy's Song, with The Boxer a close second.

"The Boxer" will always make me cry hardest, though "Bridge Over Troubled Water" is without peer.

I just don't understand why people can't get along? Most musicians would kill to have a career like they had! Let alone written a song like Bridge over troubled water, and perform it like they did! But they will always be loved! S&G will live forever! Love you guys!!

Sound of silence. For some reason the song America gets to me. It brings a strange feeling of loss of past culture and nostalgia.

I worked for both of them. Art Garfunkel was by far the biggest diva I’ve ever come across on the road. To say he was difficult is an understatement. However, the show he gave was stellar!

He sounded like an angel on Troubled Waters, I for one could never fall out of love with him after that. Sometimes the persona of a pop star is different from their true life, but they can "get" as well as have both sides and both were gracious enough with their audiences......

The Concert In Central Park is an incredible film. Gets way under your skin. So telling, such great msuic.

Paul Simon's voice is a gift to us all.

I went to one of Paul Simon’s reunion tour concerts in 2018... it was a beautiful experience. I would love to see Artie perform, but I fear that time is running out. I hope they both live to see a better time than the one we’re having now.

Some things just have to end. What they did was great ... I remember them in the 60's... But this is not the 60's anymore... Everytime I see "The Graduate" the song is integral to the movie and brings back a lot of memories.. Don't worry about getting together again.. Let the greatness stand..

I’ve listen to their songs since January and I still get fascinated by their music.

What a legacy! My favorite is Sounds of Silence. Not because it's popular, but I love the harmonies, and then a couple of years ago, I got to learn how to play and sing it with another musician. During our rehearsals, we tried to understand what the song was really saying. After diagnosing every line, we determined the song is not about being silent, but about speaking up about things that matter to us all. That was happening among the public when it the song became known, and applies in today's era much the same way. Thanks for the video!

Wonderful music, never forgotten.

I absolutely love you Paul Simon. Love to hear your voice. Brings my spirits up every day! And helps me sleep at night. If only!

I saw Simon and Garfunkel in early 1967 at the Carousel theater in West Covina, Ca. on the same bill with the Buckinghams. It was a small kind of circle theater and I got a seat (about $5 as I recall) about a couple rows back from the stage They just blew me away with their sounds --loved it. They took a break and I was in the lobby and saw Art by himself leaning against the wall having a smoke. I walked and chatted with him a bit before some girls saw him and that was it. But, I witnessed their true music talent that night, before they moved on to the big time.

Both are genies and as almost all genius people they have big troubles in life. Anyway one of the greates duo ever, if not the best of all time!

@@marcob4630 yeah! But what is extremelly sad is all hapiness, best music, freedom, carefree, etc.. are over with this plandemic. I was 14 when i used to listen to this duo 24/24. Makes me cry. We were very happy at that time. At that time they made my life a dream... 😭😭😭. Now my life is a nightmare. And you what do you feel inside? Friendship.

Amazing characters. I have been their fan since late 60s. Three of their albums are among my precious possessions.

We might not even know about them, had it not been for producer Tom Wilson, who overdubbed The Sound of Silence with electric instruments, turning the track into a #1 pop hit, helping to launch the folk-rock genre. Simon and Garfunkel, who had already split, re-united after the hit, and the rest is history.

Geniuses. Gifts to humankind and I bet many other sentient beings appreciate their music.

Tragic? If my life was only this tragic.

Two years ago, a friend of mine played a song from Art Garfunkel’s “Some Enchanted Evening” album. It was an instant love affair! I hadn’t listen to any of their songs in decades so I didn’t know who the artist was until he told me. The songs and Art’s voice is a perfect match.

I always loved Simon & Garfunkel. They went to the college where I lived & worked that was close by, & attended. But, not at the same time they were there. It was still impressing. 😎

Absolutely the most completely inclusive, deep and meaningful 15 min summation of s&g i've ever seen.

It is tragic that 2 ppl who made magic with their harmonizing could no longer work together. They are great separately but they were magic together!

I can't imagine how their success affected their lives for good and bad. I'm sure there are parts of the story will be private forever, as it should be. Not everything needs to be public knowledge.

they performed beautifully together & Paul Simon can still say they "agree on nothing?" much as I admire him, I am saddened.

Mais Paul Simon nous a offert de véritables joyaux, pas une semaine, pas une journée sans une de ses chansons. Pour moi , c'est le meilleur Auteur-Compositeur-Interprète. Concernant leur mésentente, peut-être qu'elle était nécessaire ? Nous n'aurions pas eu le plaisir d'écouter Graceland, The Rhythm of The Saints... Une dernière petite chose, j'ai beaucoup aimé l'album One-Trick Pony surtout Jonah et j'ai toujours une pensée pour Richard Tee 🌹.

Yes saying they are stars places them on a pedestal. A star is literally millions of miles away from us. It puts us in a position where it feels as tho they're better than us and we can never catch up to them that they are too far away and unreachable.

Interesting video, snd partly a sad story. But their legacy of wonderful music will remain. And their music will until I die, to be a part of my life. Mostly the music with them together - Simon and Garfulnkel music.

Loved Simon & Garfunkel songs and music singing together, since arriving in NYC in 1960. Sorry that they lost each other, and the way to actually enjoy music and do what made them happy, together.

Relationships are never too easy, but S&G left a beautiful legacy for us to enjoy.

The 1960’s? They’re one of the greatest selling artists of ALL TIME!

Paul Simon has done Great things, notably 'Graceland' , 1987. Garfunkel had Very little input besides 'Harmony singing'. Paul 'Wrote it, Played it, Sang it, Created it' especially Afterwards.

These guys are near and dear to my heart, even though I never met them or even saw them perform in person. It's a strange phenomenon, our electronic media age. We all must understand that for any projects with a high public profile, and associated with considerable fame, that jealousy is endemic, normal, and routine. The higher profile the media, the greater the jealousy.

Well they are human beings like us, who can judge them, life has many ups and downs. We just enjoy their music so much but behind their songs is another story to tell

My mother did payroll for a small town factory. When she picked me up after school she said we were going back into town to the music shop. There was a song that played over the radio that day. Bridge Over Troubled Water! It was the first time our local station had ever played it. She bought the album, and started my love for Simon and Garfunkel. I was 8 at the time.

I saw both Simon &Garfunkel separately . Both were AWESOME!!!!

I was at the reunion concert in 1981 at Central Park. Garfunkel also paid tribute to Simon giving him great songs to sing.

This is just what life is.... a sine curve... they had it all and are yet winners individually 🌹Will never stop loving them🙏🏼❤️

I’m guessing Art Garfunkel’s 2020 concert schedule also did not go as he had planned.
