J Itaru I remember when she left Victor/Victoria to get the surgery. I mea, it is always a risk. But it usually pays off. She must have been devastated. Even with her technique, V/V is a vocally demanding part (esp as old as she was at the time).

Elizabeththegreatest I do. I was shocked.... but amazed at her strength and courage. That took such bravery. She is astounding.

Julie Andrews is literally A DIAMOND!!!!! We don't deserve her, she is just EXCEPTIONAL!!

She's one of those people who you want to meet and give the world's biggest hug to. She's like a loving, wonderful grandmother to all.

Her ability to be positive after facing past hardships is so inspiring, especially to those of us going through a rough time this year

Hands down, ny favorite Julie Andrews movie is "The Sound of Music", closely followed by "Mary Poppins" and then the "Princess Diaries" movies.

Julie is just amazing. She had the most beautiful voice (still does for her speaking voice) & just comes across as a class act. It’s even wonderful how her stepchildren speak of her; they call her their mother even though she didn’t bear them, but she raised them for the majority of their lives

it was really sad when she had throat surgery and she lost her singing voice. 😔💔🥺 BUT I STILL LOVE HER.😊♥️😊

That made me sad too! However I’ll always be great we got some of her greatest work before that surgery

“So we don’t shlump like this” is the best line of The Princess Diaries! Makes me chuckle every time!

I dearly love Julie Andrews, and have always been inspired by her story. As hard as the bad times were, she always rose above and did it with dignity, a positive attitude, and a smile on her face! She's a beautiful soul and I would love to meet her someday.

There are a few 'celebrities' that I say it would be an absolute dream to meet and Julie Andrews is one of them.

@William Brynn He was definitely nothing like my father. He might be more like my Grandfather who I miss every day. Doing the Walt Disney College Program still ranks as 8 of the best months of my life.

Had the absolute privilege to follow Julie Andrews around for a whole day when she came to my college to speak in 2003. I acted as her “go-fer.” I have to say, she is a regal and kind person. She asked everyone’s name the first time we met and called everyone by name. She treated everyone with respect and humility. It was truly like meeting the queen...I will forever cherish the memories of that day.
