The Tragedy of Tron: Uprising

Ойындар

Tron: Uprising, the prequel to Tron: Legacy, was a fantastic show that was greatly unappreciated. Why would something so good just leave us?

From what I understand, Disney intentionally sabotaged this show's success because they didn't want anything competing with star wars and marvel. Now that Disney owns star wars and marvel, we're unlikely to see much from the Trom franchise for quite a while

Which sucks, because Tron as whole has so much potential. If only Disney will do the right thing and sell the franchise for once! Since your not doing anything with it, you might as well sell it!

I read ( _somewhere_ ) that it was both not enough young kids were watching AND too many adults _were_ watching. ::shrugs:: If they wanted to dissuade adults from watching, why did they progressively air episodes at later and later times when _young_ kids couldn't watch them? Disney is dumb.

I'm from Belgium and just finished watching uprising for 1st time. That show has to be teenager/young adults oriented due to the values it carries on. This movie of 82 was like an UFO then and Legacy made it accessible to everyone (thanks Daft Punk). Clearly, the contrast between 1982 and 2010 is the key of its success and the starting point of Uprising. We heard lots of hypothesis about it : a Tron 3, a reboot, to be planned... The stuff that dampered the impact of Legacy was Avatar, aired the year before. Disney is scared to choose the wrong timing (1982 was too early, 2010 was 2 years too late). Uprising will come back this year, I'm lucky to have watched it recently. Congrats to the fans waiting 9 years

I truly understand and appreciate the fact that Tron uprising still have followers to this day and time. Basically, Disney has not fully appreciate what the tv series could've been or what awe inspiring questions could've been answered. I think I heard before that this show was inspired by star wars the clone wars, creating and diving into a timeline that takes place between movies as well as illustrating the struggles and setback and success and inspiring lessons from it's characters. If anything, this was an opportunity Disney have wasted for nothing!

I think tron uprising did a good job and I'm actually glad they didn't make a second season because its still possible to connect it canonically to the rest of the movies. Essentially, the show would have to be an elegy with none of the characters winning in the end. Tron would eventually lose and would be forced to fully submit to the title of rinzler and then tron legacy would begin.

Greetings Program! A phrase that I use in my online presence more often than I care to remember. I remember seeing TRON for the first time on the now depreciated predecessor of the DVD called Laserdisc. Big vinyl record like discs that you put into an oversized CD player. I was completely drawn in by the film, and it honestly shaped a lot of my childhood. To the point that it became part of my internet persona through user names and email addresses. I loved TRON, and I still do to this day. I was fortunate enough to pick up a 20th anniversary copy of the original film, and play the TRON 2.0 game when it released. And then TRON: Legacy dropped, and I was abducted into the digital world all over again, and it was amazing. Could Legacy have had a few tweaks here and there to the story? Sure. But so could the original, if I'm to speak without the rose tinted glasses. But that didn't really matter in the long run, because it's the world that draws you in the most. And then I stumbled across Uprising one day while channel surfing, and I was immediately drawn in yet again. I was fortunate to have caught a short bit of the show, but for obvious reasons I didn't get to see it all. Even so, when I heard that it had been canceled, I was rather bothered, because I knew that it had been cut off early, even if I hadn't been told as much directly. When you hear about a show being canceled, it usually means that it's being terminated before it's time. It happened to Transformers: Animated as well, but that was because they didn't want anything to compete with the film that was released. It sucks when this happens, especially to shows that hold such promise and intrigue. But hopefully, if the User wills it, we'll get to see TRON again in some form or another before too long. But I wanna say before I finish this post, if you haven't seen the original TRON, give it a chance. It's dated and kind of campy at times, but it's also one of the most important films in the modern age in my opinion. In a roundabout way, TRON paved the way for movies like the Pirates of the Caribbean series or even the Transformer movies, because it pioneered 3D animation in film. TRON was literally the first feature length film to use 3D animation in it as fully as they did. The history of the film is amazing and wonderful, and in my humble opinion, only adds to the Legacy of the series.

Tron Legacy was an amazing movie even if people disliked the hell out of it. It was inventive, out of the box and was overall an amazing concept. As for Tron Uprising.. Well, I've seen only very few episodes of it. The story was pretty clever. Hiding the obvious person right under our noses and bringing drama where it needed. I have to agree that money greed was the fall of it but now a days it makes sense? Disney XD used to be the...action version of Disney, (the for boys channel where Avengers and Pokemon were aired all the time) while Disney focused on like live action series and other girly shows?

Tron: Uprising was one of my favorite shows when I was younger, and still holds a special place in my heart. I only was able to view the first episode, as I was too scared to ask my parents to buy the rest, but that one episode, the very first, was still fantastic. I really liked the art style, as it was certainly unique and helped differentiate it from other shows that I liked. The action was awe-inspiring for me, and the light bike races, disk battles, and aerial scenes still impress me. Heck, I even tried to incorporate the light disks into my LEGO characters, having them duel each other with blue, red-orange, and light green disks. The music was absolutely fantastic, and whenever I was playing a game with my friends or fighting in a battle in a video game, the music would play in my head. It was a shame that Disney pulled the plug on this show and Tron at large, as it still captivates me, and I have imagined what it would be like to live in the world of the Grid, even to this day.

I love Tron: Legacy, I never heard of Uprising, until I heard from people talking about it online. Also how sad, it got cancelled too soon, seems like an intersting series, judging for what you said. I'm trying to make my own Animated Series, and Pitch it to a studio, then I remember the whole cancellation and what are you allowed or not allowed to show. I don't shy away from showing those types of themes. While story isn't as deep or that serious as Uprising is, I always wanted to make the series as engaging as others, characters that kids and adults grow to like, then again my fear of my show getting cancelled too soon, sigh.

Great video mate! Tron was by far my favorite movie growing up and when I saw Tron: Legacy it opened a new world for me again. And Tron: Uprising was my 3.0 upgrade for it. Rumor is that Disney might be taking another chance at the Grid with Tron: Uprising season 2 in 2021. Fingers crossed!

I was a young teen when the original Tron came out. The originality of the look and the world blew me away. When Tron Legacy was announced, I wondered how they were going to follow up on that masterpiece... Yet they did. Beautiful movie, beautiful design though I had issues with the story.... The story was Uprising's strong suit. It gave us characters to care about, while a story of good vs evil there was always a window open for redemption. It deserved far better.

Fantastic commentary, very well said. It's gratifying to hear that Tron Legacy made such an impact on newer viewers of a whole new generation. I was there to see the original Tron in '82 and that movie really put the zap on my mind. The vast expanses, the epic story, and the utterly astonishing music throughout the movie. As well as the influence of the two prominent sci-fi artists who did production design. I've viewed other vids where fans have said they keep watching Legacy over and over again every year. It's great that it still has a loyal following. Uprising was also remarkable, I viewed another vid about it and the speaker said that it suffered from the time slot it was put into, and that maybe Disney didn't know what to do with it, an animated series that's more for adults than kids. I envy those who viewed Uprising on large screen TVs because the artwork and animation was truly fantastic. Sadly, Disney lost interest due to gaining Star Wars and Marvel. Myself, I've only seen a couple of episodes that were available on KZread but I'm looking forward to getting the whole season on DVD.

Dude I remembered this so well my older cousin was trying to describe the movie to me cause my grandma earlier that week took him to see the movie and his was like "They have sticks that turn into bikes". I was like a stick that really sounded cool to me for some reason and I asked her can she take me to see it and every scene then I fell in love with it. Also I'm an MCU OG yes because of my grandma starting from Hulk 2008 all the way to now try me.

Hey man I'm 18 but I watched the show with my dad. Tron was amazing and it upset me how the show just ended. It may have gave you the coding passion for me it gave me the inspiration to do story telling. I fell off art but story telling is something I heavy do. Certain shows I will always look back to that made me as a person and very few were on Disney but I can say Gravity Falls, kick buttowski, wonder over yonder, and Tron. Will be shows that in 10 year when im older I will never forget. Never forget the amazing cartoons we watched Tron you are one of them.

It's amazing how every single word you spoke in the video literally read out how I felt when the show was canceled. It's still good to know, however, that there are a lot of people who care for this franchise, such as me, you, and all the people who commented on this vid for example. This shows how much support is there for not only the show but the canceled sequel to Legacy. Maybe one day we will actually get a sequel or a season 2 at least for Uprising. As a Tron fan who has an emotional connection to the franchise like you do, I want to at least see at least those things in my life.

I feel ya man. I sent an email to Disney to hopefully air it again. Tron Uprising was left in the shadows. Why would Disney just leave in a climax?!?! It aggravates me too! Tron just got fully healed with Beck and the uprising ready to face CLU and his army. It was like getting ready to eat a full course meal but it just disappears! Thanks for putting this up. I absolutely enjoyed Tron Uprising. It thought viewers how to stand up to tryanny and hold tight to your friends.

Seriously Trons characterization is amazing, I want to talk about it so badly. Like seriously he's basically characterized as someone with a chronic illness (potentially terminal but at least in the beginning a manageable one) his primary issue seems to be a good amount of pain, and the physical symptoms. As someone who suffers from a chronic illness, (chronic midrange, cluster headaches, general random pain and more) it's just.... It's hard to watch sometimes. As a kid I never understood the moment in the episode Scars where tron refuses his healing tank, I mean I sort of understood but not really. Now that I'm older, with a chronic illness. I get it, and I get all the rage, if I had a person who caused me this pain... I.... well it hits a lot harder now than it did then anyways
