it's quite simple, really: people with dwarfism being exploited for the entertainment of regular sized people by having them dress up as fairy tale dwarves or elves has a long, ugly history. For example: as recently as the mid-90s, ther was a "Zwergendorf" in Germany - an amusement park where regular sized people could go and watch people with dwarfism, many of which actually lived at that park, because it was the only job they could get, like a they were animals in a zoo. A lot of them were made to wear costumes of, you guessed it, dwarves and elves. Also "dwarf-throwing parties" used to be a thing - pub crawlers could literally have competitions who of them could throw a person with dwarfism the farthest - Peter Dinklage dedicated his emmy to a man with dwarfism who'd been killed because a regular sized person decided it would be fun to lift him up and see how far he could throw him. There is no history of regular sized people being exploited and demeaned by people with dwarfism specifically, there is no history of regular sized people being othered by people with dwarfism as fairy creatures or freaks of nature, there's no history of people with dwarfism using regular sized people as if they're toys. A few days ago Jay Bauman of Red Letter Media made a post on twitter asking where this movie is. Someone in his comments who works for Trick or Treat Studios (who make Toxic Avenger/Crusaders merchandise) said they were officially told the movie can’t get a distributor as it’s “not safe enough to market.” I don’t believe Legendary have a distribution arm so… I guess this just isn’t coming out anytime soon

0:45 & 0:47 - When you compare the decor of the restaurant at these two times, specifically the section that divides the red part of the wall from the white part, you can determine that Toxie is still a dwarf, not a giant/large figure, that he isn't a "hideously deformed creature of superhuman [SIZE] and strength" as he is normally depicted

Im so confused, i did some research on this comic book character and this looks like the lamest marvel super hero. Like dudes weapon is a mop. Yet people are hyping this movie up. Can someone explain to me what the hype is about? Should i get into it, read the comics? It casts peter dinklage and hes a badass actor but i dont understand this character.
