The Total Film Critic Ep 2: The Naked Prey (1965)/The Odd Couple (1968)

Ойын-сауық

A film discussion panel. This week's episode we have a fun little opening, with Thad and Kat playfully cold reading a scene from Jerry Lewis' The Nutty Professor. (We promise this is not the best of our acting skills. haha) We discuss Thad's film pick The Naked Prey (1965) from Director Cornel Wilde and also starring Cornel Wilde; and Kat's pick The Odd Couple (1968) directed by Gene Saks and starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. There will be spoilers.
Watch in 720p for the best quality,

I also saw this film at around the age of 10 (mid-1970s) when it was shown on BBC TV - it has never been shown again. The scene that remained etched indelibly in my memory was the killing of one of the white men who was covered in clay and then baked/roasted over a fire by the tribe. The only other scene I remembered was the end when he reached a colonial fort. When, about ten years ago I found out the name of the film [I thought it was The Naked Runner], I noted that others too commented on IMDB about that roasting alive scene haunting them as kids.

Am I missing something? I tried to bump up to 1080p, but KZread's options capped out at 720p.

Hmm, you're right. I did create the video at 1080p, but this is the 2nd time KZread hasn't given the option. I know since the pandemic, youtube decided to lower the quality on videos. KZread had disabled video quality 720p and 1080p on phones for awhile since March. I'm not sure if they gave us back higher streaming qualities or not, but thanks for letting me know.
