Watching this, particularly between the mid and 3/4 of the way thru, made me feel like Maria could've or should've been in that Netflix documentary "The Social Dilemma"

Maria Ressa will be discussed in schools 100 years from now. To look back and say, “this is what the global society did wrong.” I just hope that this issue doesn’t end up in a blood bath for the world to learn a new lesson in history.

I totally get Maria Ressa’s points, esp her comparison about ‘ants’. But, if we were to think ‘outside’ - maybe ‘democracy’ nor ‘authoritarianism’ will work in the future?! Maybe, ‘something’ else will evolve? We still don’t know what that is, but, i think it will… Hopefully, in the next two decades. Bcoz we have climate change to deal with. Which if you ask me, is the more exigent issue.

What will put her in jail is the act of destroying the reputation of other human being and committing LIBEL. By violating the constitution of the Philippines and creating a media organization that is US Funded - a crime in PH all journalist know too well. By not respecting Human Rights of other people she will go to jail. That is her values like her US citizenship.

You will be momentarily detained as a part of the procedure, and you will have the opportunity to post bail. If you are the subject of an accusation, it does not automatically mean that you are guilty of the charges.
